A deathworld version of the Naruto setting, a team of missing-nin fleeing from Mist into Fire, and one disaster after another.  What could possibly go right? MfD is a quest that has been running on SufficientVelocity since 2015.  Velorien and I co-author it and he has agreed to let me re-post his chapters here.  "Quest" in this context means that after every update the readers vote for what they want the protagonist to do next.  SV updates on Thursdays and Sundays.One note:  It's a quest, not a novel, which raises some challenges when being posted here.  Because the players are driving the protagonist's choices, it means that sometimes plot lines that the authors (Velorien and I) would have enjoyed pursuing get dropped, and sometimes the players go off and do things we'd prefer they didn't.  (Also, they've had stupidly good luck with the combat dice, which is annoying sometimes.)  On the other hand, the players have also thought up insanely creative things that Velorien and I would not have come up with.  Pros and cons, I suppose.  Regardless, the implications of the quest format mean that the story won't be for everyone.  Hopefully, it will be for you.
