The clinic fell completely silent. No one expected Ronan to make such a move, and judging by his expression, it seemed like he was deadly serious. Billy started clapping, laughing out loud. "Good news! This is great news!"
Melissa smacked him on his back immediately. "Are you out of your mind, fatso?"
With an annoyed glance at Ronan, Melissa turned and ran off as she was genuinely startled.
"Wait, my wife! Don't leave! You're supposed to come home and have kids with me!"
Ronan started to chase after her, but Felix stopped him.
Wearing an ugly expression, he asked, "Is this how you pursue a woman?"
Ronan, looking dumbfounded, didn't know what to say.
"Where did you find this kid?" Nala asked.
Hearing that, Felix's expression darkened even more.noveldrama
"I didn't actively search for him, alright? I had no idea he was going to pull something like this. Go check on Melissa."
A few minutes later, only Felix and Ronan were left in the clinic.
"That's my sister Melissa. I didn't have the chance to introduce you earlier."
Ronan immediately bowed deeply. "Please accept my humble greetings, dear future brother-in-law."
Felix fought the urge to punch him in the face, struggling to stay patient. "What was that all about? Were you joking?"
Ronan quickly shook his head and hurried to explain, saying, "No, Felix! I wasn't joking! My grandfather always said that if a woman makes my heart race the first time I see her, she's my destined wife. I have to marry her. Even if I have to fight for her, I'll do it." That was it? If it weren't for the sincerity in Ronan's eyes, Felix would have kicked him out right then and there.
"Call your grandpa. I'll have a talk with him. We're both family, so it should be fine, right?"
As Ronan was strong, his grandfather wasn't someone to mess with if he was anyone like Ronan. With Melissa involved, Felix felt he had to play the role of a protective older brother.
"Alright. I'll call him right now."
When the call connected, Felix almost had a stroke from what Ronan said first.
"Grandpa, my wife's brother wants to talk to you."
Felix snatched the phone from Ronan and said, "What's going on with your grandson? He saw my sister for the first time and already called her his wife, saying he'll even fight for her if he has to."
On the other end, a hearty laugh rang out. "He's definitely not joking! Are you a martial artist?"
"Yes!"
"Great! That makes things easier. Our family's bloodline is special, and it's been passed down through generations. It must never be broken!
"For the bloodline to continue perfectly, the choice of wife is critical. So far, there are three types of body composition that work. Your sister is definitely one of them, or else my grandson wouldn't be acting this way."
Felix frowned. He hadn't noticed anything unusual about Melissa's body composition, but who could say for sure? After all, with thousands of years of history in Dragonia, who could truly know everything?
Body composition?
"Even though you've explained the situation to me, love nowadays is about mutual consent. I'm fine with Ronan pursuing my sister, but if it doesn't work out, then sorry. He's not allowed to keep bothering her."
The old man's laughter grew louder.
"Interesting! It's been years since anyone has dared to speak to me like this! Listen, kid. My grandson has finally found a woman who can continue our bloodline. There's no way he's going to let her slip away. If he can't get her, I'll step in myself."
Felix was fuming. "Fine! If I'm not your match, my mentor, the miracle doctor, will step in, too. Go ahead and give it a try."
He had plenty of powerful connections, too, so he wasn't afraid of Ronan's grandfather.
