Sue was not bothered at all by lan's departure as she stared fixedly at the instruments in the lab and hoped for a miracle.
That was when Igor flung a syringe to the floor. "What the hell?! I asked for epinephrine, not hormones! You can kill a man with the wrong substance!"
If he had not recognized that it was the wrong syringe because of the color, Frank would be dead!
"I'm sorry!"
The assistant was mortified but quickly reached for the intended epinephrine to Igor.
However, he was so nervous that his hands were shaking, and he dropped it before he could pass it to Igor.
"Get out!"

He stood beside Frank, wiping the sweat off his brow as this was his final option.
If this injection went in and Frank still did not respond, it was game over for him-and not the vegetative state lan mentioned either, but simple brain death!
That would be the worst case, as Frank's vital signs would remain normal but his consciousness completely gone, without any hope of returning. It would then be up to his family to decide if he would be euthanized!

Meanwhile, in the void, the golden dragon had Frank on check and seemingly cornered his remaining pieces, dissing Frank as it watched him ponder, "Don't bother. You're going to lose!"
Frank chuckled. "You just said earlier that you're not a god, so you're not omnipotent, and science could explain you. Why are you so convinced that you're so good at chess that you'd surpass me, then?" Frank then started taking the golden dragon's pieces, instantly turning the tables!
The golden dragon was left feeling enfeebled that his check was not good enough and that he could beat him. But in order to get that check, he had been neglecting the flanks, which Frank had slowly conquered to cut off his king.
Despite knowing he would lose soon, the golden dragon did not give up, even laughing. "I may not be omnipotent, but I could still test you if I desire!"
After all, in the long years it had spent waiting for its next master, it played against itself, picking up on techniques and strategies like the AlphaZero program...

As the last dose of epinephrine was injected, the heart rate monitor started beeping, signaling that Frank's heartbeat was unstable!
While that meant he was still in danger, it was still much better as Igor's gambit paid off-there was still a chance of saving Frank's life!
Hence, without stopping to celebrate, Igor yelled at the other scientists to continue Frank's surgery.
Outside, Sue's heart could leap out of her throat.

After so many ups and downs, she did not even hope that Frank could be saved, even if the golden dragon had assured her that he would be fine. However, unless it was a hundred percent certainty, there were simply occasions when that one percent proved fatal
Damn it! Why did she buy that lizard's crap?! She had almost killed Frank here! Beep!
While Igor and the others frantically tried to resuscitate Frank, Frank's irregular heart rate and other vital signs began weakening again... and his heart gave out entirely!
"I-Impossible!" Igor shrieked. He then yelled for someone to fetch a cardiac stimulant despite knowing that it was pointless by now.
