Radiance took a short pause before she elaborated on her reasons.
"I can sense Darkness within you. Not just a part of him, but his entirety. Not only him, but even the second strongest Primal Essence, Sky, as well as the rogue Primal Essence, Void. A body such as yours that can house a soul powerful enough to contain so many full Primal Essences is unheard of," Radiance said with some fervour in her tone.
"I am special, yeah, but so what?" Lone had a rough idea of what Radiance wanted, but he was struggling to understand why she was mentioning what was obvious to him.
"The disorder within your soul is unfathomable. I dare not think of what created you in such a way that made such a thing possible. Perhaps these gods you mentioned? No matter. Regardless, anyone else in your position should have exploded and taken half of Altros with them." Radiance's words scared Lone half to death.
He wasn't frightened by what she had said directly, but instead by the implications. Lone was fully intent on fighting against the gods that had forced himself and Sophie onto Altros, even if them doing so had brought him and Sophie together as a result of their selfish actions.
If he was to do this in his current state, couldn't they undo whatever they had done to his body and, in Radiance's word, make him explode? Such a thought made Lone tremble.
"I understand. So what is it that you want?" Lone asked with a little bit more respect in his tone now.
"I wish to join my fellow Primal Essences within your body and help Sky and Darkness to bring order where there is none. I will be enough to restrict Void entirely and stop him from rampaging around in your soul as he now is. I am far more gifted in such things when compared to my sibling Essence, Sky," Radiance offered.
"I expected as much. Personally, I'm fine with that, but I'm guessing you won't do this for free, will you?" Lone asked.
"Indeed. I have two requirements to aid you, Mighty Mortal," Radiance said.
'Mighty Mortal? That's a cool nickname,' Lone noted. "I'm open to helping you so long as you don't demand the impossible."
"Very well. I trust in your ability to defeat Ythmagobla completely since you have somehow subdued Darkness. My requests are unrelated to your current campaign, so worry not." Radiance was very clearly trying her best to stay on Lone's good side. Whatever she wanted from him meant a great deal to her.
Clearing her mind momentarily, Radiance spoke once more. "My first request is entirely for your benefit. Please, find the remaining Primal Essences and bind them to your soul. I possess the power of greater foresight, and while I cannot peer into your fate for some reason, I have a strong feeling that you will need all nine of us for you to come out as the victor in whatever struggle lies ahead of you in the distant future."
"I see no issue with that. I already have four, so I may as well get the rest of you," Lone shrugged.
Radiance was a bit taken aback. "I was under the impression that you weren't fond of Primal Essences?"
"I'm not, and my companions hate you guys and are scared for my safety, but you said that I need all nine of you to win, yeah? Then there's no other choice. Mind you, if you're lying, I'll kill the baby Dragon immediately," Lone said nonchalantly.
"You... You know about my second request?" Radiance was, for the first time in her incredibly long existence, shocked out of her mind and genuinely terrified.
"It doesn't take a genius to put two and two together. You said that you'd fused your soul with Garadia's, right? I doubt that she can enter my soul like you Primal Essences can. I'm a Soul Oracle, so I know a little bit about these things. I'm pretty sure you plan on splitting from that seed to join me. I'm not sure how you plan to keep her soul intact, probably by using my abilities, then you'll forcefully birth her, right?" Lone was acting like all of this was very obvious.
Radiance was left speechless. "Indeed. You are completely right, Mighty Mortal."
Radiance's tone had changed. Now she wasn't showing false respect to Lone like previously. Instead, she was talking to him like he was superior to herself. She was intentionally lowering herself to a mere mortal, which would normally be impossible, no matter how special he was. Garadia was far too important to her.
"I can sign a magical contract of my own creation to reassure you. If you protect and care for Garadia, I will fight for you with all of my ability. I will spare nothing, not even my own existence. Please, raise my child in my stead and give her the life that I never could." Were she to have a body, Lone was certain that tears would be falling from Radiance's eyes.
Scratching his head a bit, Lone nodded. "Okay. However, I'll make the contract."
"Thank you! Thank you! Words simply cannot express... However, I will have to make the contract. The skills granted by the system cannot create contracts that can bind beings as powerful as myself," Radiance said in a thankful and sorry tone. She was a bit worried that Lone might think that she was trying to trick him.
Lone shook his head and immediately created a level five contract. "My Contract Magic is unique. Don't worry, be it a man or a god, it can and will bind you."
As Lone began writing onto the paper with his blood, Radiance inspected it with her powers and was shocked to find Lone's words were true. "What a surprising mortal..."
Lone ignored her and kept writing. A few moments later, he was done and showed Radiance the contract.
'I will not ever bring harm to Lone Immortus or his companions. I swear to aid him in any efforts he undertakes, regardless of the nature of his actions. I will expend myself without holding anything back, even if it means I lose my very being.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
In exchange, Lone Immortus will raise the Radiance Dragon and treat her as his own daughter. He will never try to bring her harm and will always strive to protect her, though if needed and if it won't endanger Garadia's life, Lone Immortus retains the right to use her in battle. Garadia will also become a summoned being under Lone Immortus' unique skill, Summoning Room. This will grant her access to the safest place in existence.
Duration: Forever
Signed: Lone Immortus
Signed: Radiance'
The second that Radiance had finished reading over the parchment's contents, a thread of white light existed her before it placed itself on the paper and it then formed the letters of her name. The scroll rolled itself up and exploded in a cascade of light.
"The contract is formed. Okay, do what you need to do," Lone said.
It was at that moment that the air in this formless void began to ripple.
"What?! Impossible!" Radiance was shaken by what was happening.
Much to both Lone's and her surprise, a short girl with long golden-blonde hair appeared. She looked very angry and she immediately rushed to Lone's side before she grabbed a bunch of his tails and stared dangerously at Radiance.
Several green discs of pure energy appeared out of thin air and pointed themselves and Radiance as they started spinning at incredible speeds.
"Ah," Lone exclaimed in realisation. "You got a new power when I reached S-rank, didn't you? This one is quite useful, huh, Soph? 'Void Walking', was it?"
"Mmm. You suddenly disappeared when that seed flew into your chest. It took a while to find you. Thankfully, Void Walking passively lets me detect hidden void dimensions, though this one was very hard to discover." Sophie continued to glare at the glowing green seed that was Radiance.
"So this isn't all in my mind, huh? I guess that makes sense since I could get my blood out from my Dimensional Storage," Lone mumbled.
Radiance was very confused. "No mortal should be able to simply walk into this pocket dimension. Is she like you, Mighty Mortal?"
Sophie frowned when a charming voice flowed out of the light surrounding the seed and spoke to Lone with a nickname.
Nodding, Lone answered, "Yes. She is every bit as special as I am. In fact, maybe even more so."
Sophie's cheeks turned red. "What is that thing, Lone?"
"It's a Primal Essence," Lone answered calmly.
Sophie's scowl deepened. She didn't voice her opinion or say anything after hearing Lone's answer. She knew better than to interfere with his matters. The small Cosmos-ranked being just puffed up her cheeks and continued to cuddle Lone's fluffy tails.
"This is perfect. She can take the three of you out of this dimension after I'm done then. I was worried if I'd have enough energy to release you before Ythmagobla's arrival," Radiance sighed in relief.
Suddenly, the green light surrounding the equally green seed split off from it and entered Lone's chest.
Now speaking telepathically like how Darkness tended to, Radiance talked to Lone. 'Please relax your mind. I am now going to awaken your body even further with my power and assume my form so I can birth Garadia.'
Lone did as told and released all of the tension from his body. Like a torrential wave, Radiance's power spread all throughout Lone's internal system.
Sophie was very surprised when the tails in her hands started to change colours. As much as she didn't want to, she let go of them for now.
From the left to the right, Lone's tails changed from their mixed colouring to Gold, Gold, Vibrant Green, Sky Blue, Pitch Black, Deep Purple, Gold, Gold, Gold. His hair and eyes returned to being pure gold as well.
Congratulations! The host's race has changed to [Ascending Foxkin].
The host has developed the racial skill: Ascending Might.
Now fully assimilated with Lone, and after having helped Sky reorganise the powers within him, Radiance took control of Lone's body. His recently changed tails, hair and eyes all transformed into a singular vibrant green colour.
From within his mind, Lone could see a new palace. It looked very similar to a world tree, however, Lone could tell that it was just a replica.
Radiance wasted no time. She drew her hands forward and lovingly held the small verdant seed to Lone's chest. She expended all of Lone's mana and all of her personal power before pouring it into the seed. A few minutes peacefully passed.
"It is done," Radiance whispered and then gave back control of Lone's body to him.
His hair, tails and eyes returned to their new colours.
The host has developed the primal essence skill: Radiance Form.
The seed that was calmly floating in the air began to spread and grow. However, this was a somewhat slow process, so Lone chose to inspect his two new skills as he waiting.
Sophie decided to immerse herself in the fluffiness that was Lone's tails. "The blue one and green one... They're so fluffy! The black one is the softest... Huhuhu the purple one feels like silk... And the gold ones all smell like Lone!"
Trying his best to ignore his lover's weird comments, Lone called upon the system to show him his skills.
Primal Essence Skill: Radiance Form
A skill unique to the host, Lone Immortus.
It allows the host to merge with the Primal Essence, Radiance, and grant control of the host's body to Radiance, enabling the Primal Essence to exhibit some of her abilities.
The host may also assume control while using this ability due to his contract with the Primal Essence, Radiance.
Radiance's powers will grow in this state as the host gains more strength.
Cost: 20% of Radiance's energy. Mastery: Beginner Level 1
Racial Skill: Ascending Might
A skill granted only to those that are close to the peak of their species.
Removes all barriers between ranks, allowing the host to freely gain the next rank so long as they have enough experience. This is limited to XXX-rank and will not work past that rank.
All beings of the same species as the host who are not ascending or even greater will feel a desire to worship and train under the host. This effect applies, but is extremely weakened, to the very bottom races of other species.
Cost: N/A Mastery: Master Level 10
"A skill that starts out maxed, huh? That additional effect sounds pretty sweet, not to mention the first one that will be incredibly useful..." Lone's mumblings were disturbed by the sound of the seed shattering into a million pieces.
Both Lone and Sophie gazed towards where the growing seed once was and they both saw a very small feather-covered creature. it slowly opened it's massive green eyes and looked around in confusion.
Sophie squealed before pouncing on the creature. "It's so cute! And soft!"
The baby Dragon tried to flap its wings to escape Sophie's grasp, but after noticing how she was being cuddled gently, the baby Dragon, Garadia, decided to stop struggling and just enjoyed Sophie's warm embrace.
