His eyes fluttered. He felt small bodies of light sitting around him and chatting. A yellow fairy's face appeared within his view. "Ugly Man!" He yelled, being plucked away by his wings by the waking man. "What's going on, Phillip?" He sat up, then saw fairies flying around the nurse hut and delivering tools for the Nurse.
"Damn it, I said bring me the Heathon Herb, these are Poinos ones! Are you trying to kill this fucker!?" She yelled at a shy white fairy, immediately flying off to throw the purple herb away and bring her a plant with bright green leaves. "Go to the fucking dunce corner." She said, pointing to a corner with fairies sitting on the floor. The fairy nodded, flying off there.
She looked at her patient with blue bruises on his chest, rubbing the herbs gently. "Hey! I'm not getting enough light here!"
A blue fairy immediately flew by the bruise and made its light shine brighter... "No! Not you, I CAN'T SEE THE FUCKING THING! DUNCE CORNER!"
The fairy followed the white fairy, now beside each other. "She seems so nice!" The blue fairy said. "Yeah! At least she doesn't turn us into french fries!" The white fairy responded, cheering for themselves and the other fairies joined in.
Phillip flew to her side, assisting with the lighting. She sighed and continued with her work. She felt strong rough hands on her shoulders. She shivered, turning to his face.
"How long?"
"40 years."
"Doesn't look like it."
"Twi weeks, happy? I had to inhale fucking drugs just to get you down. Now get back to bed. Phillip, zap this fucker." She ordered, the fairy shrugged and looked at Phillip. "The small people said you're banned from the kingdom." The fairy said with a smile.
"Petal, what the fuck happened."
She scoffs and turns to him, pointing her hand at the patient. "CAN IT!?" She squeezed the herb at the bruise, a whimper coming out from the patient.
Vines turned to the window, walking towards it with awe in his eyes. Lights were moving everywhere. He felt a tug on his shirt, looking down at the fairy. "Cool small man says he wants to talk to you!" He cried, still trying to pull. "Drew? Hold on, why is he here..."
"PHILLIP I SAID GET HIM TO BED! NOT OUTSIDE!" She grabs the tiny fairy with a scalpel in her other hand.
"Hey, did you get rid of it?" He asked, looking down at her belly. It was unusually big. She clicks her tongue and scoffs. "Mind your business-"
"It's my business." He told. He then grabbed her shoulder again. "Phillip, did she do anything to me while I was asleep?" He slaps her wrist to free the fairy.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
"She kept touching you."
"Shut up."
"She even tried to do it to you again but I stopped her."
"I SAID SHUT UP!"
He glared at Petal, her heart racing. She attempts to peel his hand and grows tired, looking into his eyes.
"10 fucking years huh?"
"Get out... please." Her voice sounded gentle, and her force on his hand weakened. She wore an embarrassed frown and turned from him.
"Just as I thought, I no longer need to rest huh?"
"WELL, IF YOU WANT YOUR HEART TO STOP AGAIN, THEN DON'T!" She snarled.
He let go of his shoulder and scoffed, turning to the door and leaving with Phillip sitting by his shoulder. Petal turned back to the patient, rubbing his chest with the herb.
"Why not just tell him?"
"I can kill you right fucking now."
"Shutting up."
He wondered if this was the same town he was in before. It had only been two weeks, there were fairies everywhere he looked. There were some delivering items and fairies that had some kind of armor and weapons on them. Phillip zapped his shoulder, snapping him back to what was in front.
"Ugly man! What you looking at?" The fairy asked with such an attitude.
"I'm impressed, you've gotten quite cocky and fearless. What got you this way?" He asked, following Phillip and avoiding the paths of the fairies. "I got new wife." He told.
"You fairies are more fucked up than I thought."
"Oh wow! Petal said that!"
"You call her by name now!?"
The small man approached them, with a green fairy sitting at his head. "Ou, you're awake now!" He said with a grin.
Vines looked in front of him. He saw a building with stone walls and a chimney spewing out smoke, the smell of melting iron escapes from the door. "What happened?" He asked with a tone of concern.
"The King appreciated your efforts, he really did," Drew told. "But being cautious got the better of him, he had exiled me and other dwarves. Only those of us who disagreed with his decision to ban the ability to go out and into the kingdom." Drew told. "It's not as bad. Most of us are workin' the forge here. I have to say, this town is pleasant." The dwarf commented.
"Do you not despise us?"
"Not too much, come. I have something to show you."
He was led into the forge; there were fairies, dwarves, and some human smiths being taught by some of the dwarves. A rare team of species working together is quite a sight. "Does this not worry you, Drew?" He asked all of a sudden. "Change is natural," Drew said. He took him to show a covered product on a table. "I thought of that too. As much as I want to curse you right now, you did help us with the glowing problem back in the kingdom. I had to keep that crazy bitch's word." He lifted the cloth.
It was only a singular gauntlet made out of steel with rougher edges and pointed knuckles. Each of the fingers had an orb for multiple types.
"It's a prototype, do not make the mistake of using it during this phase. Like it?" Drew looked up at him. He looked pleased, nodding in approval.
"That's good, yet I'd like to know how these fairies got their gear." He asked.
"Ah, you've noticed? We decided to work on these little guys as well." The green fairy above the dwarf spreads its body; armor begins to appear around it completely with a bow conjured in its hand. "Yaaaa!" It cried.
"It surprised us when we realized...fairies can make good materials for fairy gear. Petal assisted with the discovery of course." The dwarf told.
"That's vile. Make one for Phillip."
"Please use my wife." The fairy nodded at the suggestion.
"Never mind." He groaned.
"Vassel, unequip it. That's all we're showing you for now, Vines. I've been told your assistant was getting tired of working the tavern." The dwarf laughed.
"See you around." He turned to leave the forge. On his way, he sees gold-armored and silver-armored guards marching into the town square. People and fairies surrounded them, noticing a familiar emblem on their chests.
"Listen well, people of Honey Town!" A soldier called.
"From now on, Grayhold will officially be supporting the growth of Honey Town. We hope all of you cooperate with us, for we will be officiating your guild and building a Grayhold Center in this town. These requests came from the King himself and the wishes of a man named Jacko Slime! That will be all!"
The crowd started talking amongst themselves. Most of them were celebrating, some were skeptical.
"Why now?"
"Jacko? I thought he never left?"
Vines ran from the crowd and caught up to one of the soldiers as they started to walk away.
"Where's Jacko now!?" He shouted with a demanding voice.
The guard felt his pauldron being crushed. "He's... decided to stay at Grayhold!"
"What!? Are you not keeping him there against his will!?"
"No! Stop this at once! We've come to help, not fight!" Vines let go of him, the soldier looking at him.
"I don't understand why you're worried about the man. He slayed
an Elder Dragon, for god's sake." The soldier left with his men, hoping to lose the man.
Vines' eye twitched...
"WHAT!?"
