Chapter 36 The Gauntlets

Chapter 36 The Gauntlets

A group of dwarves led by Drew ran to the forge. He ordered them all to gather the best materials, even those who didn't know how to use a forge were being taught as they worked.

Vines drops Petal down in front of the Forge's doors, watching the fairies around the city swarming around the King Dwarf; boulders of all sizes come crashing down at every building, eliminating a group of fairies with each throw.

Petal propped herself up again and watched the chaos unfold. "I don't think this shit is like Chayna Town anymore."

"Do you have a syringe for this?"

"All the pointy ones are the best for this situation." She smiles.

He rolled his eyes, entering the forge and laying his eyes on a pair of golden gauntlets with orbs stuck to them.

"You're working on everything else except for this, why?" He asked

Drew immediately came to defend the gauntlets. "These are prototypes!" He told. "We're already building you a gauntlet, it will be finished within an hour...."

A boulder crashes through the roof of the forge, a fire starts to spread, and the Dwarves start extinguishing them with Water Wands. Vines looked at Drew once again.

"You can make new ones." He grabbed the two gauntlets, and Drew groaned. "Return them in one piece at least!"

He looked at the gauntlets, both were equipped with brownish orbs in their sockets. He counts 3 small ones on each Gauntlet. Stone begins to conjure around his tightening fists, then spreads his palms, causing those stones to form around his arms.

"This Magic is interesting..."

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

"Why is he even doing this!?" Petal shoots a few more bolts aiming for the orb. A wall of stone forms around the dwarf and throws it in her direction, dodging it as it is about to hit her, and blasts another shot at the hammer. It catches him off guard, the hammer points to her and launches towards her, the ground cracking between her legs.

A bunch of magical rope wraps her chest, lifting her from the cracking ground, and looked up at the fairies. "Y'all ain't so shit after all!" She laughed. She looked down and saw a man with stone arms walking out of the forge.

"On second thought, you are more of a worthy vessel...Jake Vines!" The hammer returns to the Dwarf King's Hand. Buildings started to levitate, moving towards him.

He smashes through the oncoming stone pillars like they’re made of paper. Using the chaos to his advantage, he leaps over the towering structures and hurls a flurry of rocks at the dwarf.

Rock Shields spring up around him, but some of them shatter under the pressure. Bolts whiz dangerously close to his neck, and he barely manages to deflect the attack before a swarm of fairies zaps him right in the back of the head.

"ENOUGH!" A massive orange shockwave erupts, sending everyone flying. The dwarf’s face goes pale as he doesn’t even see the colossal stone fist coming until it’s too late, smashing right into his mug.

"This ought to hurt!"

The dwarf crashes to the ground, his orange glow fading away, and when he opens his eyes, he sees the man looming over him like a mountain. He scrambles to his feet, hands raised in desperation. "Vines!" he gasps.

Petal dashes over to where they landed, crossbow at the ready, shouting at the top of her lungs.

"Vines! Behind you!"

He hears a crackling noise behind him, and stones start ripping away from his body. Whipping around, he spots the orb pulling stones together to form a massive humanoid golem. He starts throwing punches at the golem, smashing its rocky exterior while howling in pain and fury. The golem retaliates, swinging a fist at his head, but he dodges just in time, crushing the Stone Fist instead. Bolts rain down on the golem’s back. It turns to Petal, but before it can react, Vines charges in, headbutting the orb with sheer force, sending it flying.

Petal takes her shot, nailing the orb with a bolt. "That could’ve gone better," she mutters, hands on her hips as she puts away her crossbow. The orb spits out the bolt, floating back up before getting obliterated by a barrage of colorful beams of light.

"Vines... I'm so sorry." The Dwarf King bowed before Vines. He shook his bloodied fists and wiped his bloodied head. His vision started to get blurry as he looked down at him. "It's..fine...old friend..." He falls on his back, luckily being caught by Petal. "We're getting out of here, fatass; tell Drew we're leaving. IMMEDIATELY!" She yelled desperately, her heartbeat was rapidly beating with worry.

Fairies started to surround them, murmuring to each other.

Petal could barely take a step while carrying him; she, too, suddenly, collapsed from the pressure of his body. "Goddammit! Why don't dwarves have fucking hospitals!? Are you all that fucking stupid!?" She screamed. The King felt offended by her words, yet understood. He grumbled at the fact that the only known way was to simply climb up the valley walls. Vines was the one who usually did that.

A yellow fairy flies in front of Petal's face with a smile. "Crazy Lady, we help ugly man! You kill bad circle, we like you!" The fairy told. She snarled. "THE FUCK ARE YOU GONNA DO HUH? MAKE US FLY!? FUCK OFF IF ALL YOU GOT IS YAPPING YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" Phillip remained unbothered as the fairies around him started shooting their magic ropes and weaving them into a magic blanket underneath both of them. Petal nodded. "Dammit..." She scoffed embarrassingly.
