"Ugh..." His green eyes shone by an artificial light within a steel room. It was familiar, this was quite similar to where he stayed with Rift. He clenched his chest, as memories started to rush back towards him.
"Hey." A stern female voice made him look to the brown haired lady once more.
Jacko blinked and scratched his head. "London..." He said with a frown and dull eyes.
"You've been asleep for three days." She immediately told, assuming he'd ask that.
"Woah..." Jacko sighed.
"We're you the only one who survives the Dragon Dungeons?"
Jacko nodded.
"Did you kill them?" She suddenly shifted her tone to be even more stricter.
"No..." Jacko gasped, flashing back to how he brutally decimated the watery body of their rouge teammate.
"Then why did you end up slaying the 20the floor boss? Who's decision was it to go beyond the 10th floor?" She asked, keeping her cool voice down.
Jacko tightened the covers. "Ebony..." He told, baring his teeth.
London studies his face, recognizing his anger in his eyes and calmed down for a bit. "Well then. Get up." She told, walking out of the room.
"Wait why?" Jacko asked.
"The King is waiting." She then left the door open.
Jacko followed, suddenly he was assisted by guards with golden armor. Both grabbing each of his arms.
Jacko then gasps, picturing the same throne room he saw once he entered the large bright room with steel as walls and pillars. This time, a man covered in decorated steel armor and a steel crown looked down on him. Golden armored soldiers with Steel Spears and orbs of different elements within those spears.
London walked by the Guildmaster's side.
"He's here." She whispered, the Guildmaster then looking at the man. He noticed that his Robe was different. And his expression, it felt different than they first met. "I was wrong, he looks quite tougher now." He commented.
A loud clang was heard from the King's throne, tapping his scepter of steel on the ground, and a deafening ringing was heard as he pointed the Steel Orb attached to the scepter.
"Testing, Testing." The King talked through the orb, nodding. He had gray hair and a white face, his eyes were pure black and he looked quite young.
"Have you brought me the man, known as Jacko Slime the Slime Summoner?" His voice boomed through the room like an echo.
The Guards let go of Jacko's arms. Jacko took a deep breath, his journey has finally come to the end. He walked right in front of the Guildmaster and his assistant and looked at the King.
"I am Jacko, Sir King." Jacko told. Jason facepalmed and whispered. "Call him Your Steelness you fool."
"I have heard you have defeated the Elder Rouge Dragon with the assistance of the Wall Guards. Then again you may have done the heavy lifting as I was told you have brought it from the Dragon Dungeons to the wall. Is this true?" The King asked, intrigued by the man's robes.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
"Yes Mr. Steelness." Jacko told, nodding his head with a serious tone. Jason just audibly groaned.
"And you were reported to have completed Dragon Dungeons' Trials with you as the only survivor. There were also rumors that you were seen commanding your own dragon to help assist you. I thought you only summon slimes?" The King asked.
"It's a Slime Dragon, it did change when...I killed a big Ice Dragon..." Jacko told.
The King's eyes widened. "You mean the Avalanche Dragon?" The King asked.
"Yes, it turned into some kind of light and made my dragon more shinier." Jacko just dropped the formal talk, London chuckling st his boldness before the king.
"One more question. Do you have any wishes to make, as the very first S Rank Adventurer in all of Heridon Continent?" The King asked, quite enjoying this man's boldness.
Jacko then made his expression more stern, the question that he had been waiting for. "I want you to help Honey Town and Dust Town. We had been attacked by the Magekeeps group and our guild in Honey Town was never officialized because of them. Dust Town was also almost destroyed by the Magekeeps, so I want you to help them too."
Everyone stayed silent, even the King.
"Magekeeps...those Magic people..." The King gritted his teeth. "Why have I never heard of these incidents?" The King's voice boomed.
The Guildmaster was shocked as well. "That's impossible, the Magekeeps are the Steel Kingdom's Allies!" He butted it.
Jacko turned to him. "Allies?"
The King banged his Scepter again. "Are you sure about what you're saying, Jacko? The Magekeeps are the reason why we have powerful technology right now and you say they are responsible for hindering trusted towns?" The King asked, with worry coming to his voice.
The Guildmaster clenched his fists.
"Yes! They are the reason why I went here in the first place, I want to see those fuckers dead! Mr. Steelness!" Jacko yelled.
London looked at the Guildmaster. "What's wrong?" She asked. "Excuse me for a moment." The Guildmaster then walked out of the Throne room.
The King grinned. "I will send A ranks and managers in both those towns to re-establish those guilds. I'll even send builders to even assist in upgrading the towns." The King told.
"This is not your reward, for I am at fault for not even hearing these events of those happening outside this Kingdoms. I will ask once again, is there anything else you want as the First S Rank Adventurer of Heridon Continent?" The King asked, he now looked like he was in a hurry.
Jacko thought about this long and hard...
"I want to rest." Jacko finally said.
The King nodded. "Very well, I will grant you freedom to whatever you want to do in the Kingdom to assist your rest. You will even be granted guards to protect you and there shall be a decree that everything you want shall be free. Is that all you want, Jacko?" The King asked.
Jacko looked at him. "Yep." He said, with a weak smile. "Good." The King then clanged his scepter again.
"You may now go, for I'll have to call an urgent meeting to attend to the problems of those towns." The King then stood up.
"Guards, I want you to assist Jacko to the Golden Dragon Tavern and make sure he eats to his fill!" He then leaves, donning his silver cape and walked to the meeting room besides his throne.
"Eh?" Jacko then sees Golden Guards walking out of the Throne Room. "Follow us." One of them told, Jacko just shrugged and followed.
He was soon greeted by people wearing the most beautiful clothing he had ever seen, cheering him on and the Gold Guards ignored them, while Jacko just kinda waved back at them. "What are they cheering for?" Jacko asked the Gold Guard with a gold helmet with fancier designs and emblems. "They are cheering for the man who defeated the Drsgon Dungeons completely." He turned to Jacko. "Learn to celebrate your achievements, you're the strongest registered man in this continent. You have nothing to fear anymore." He told, while Jacko looked at the crowd.
The guards opened the doors of the Golden Dragon Tavern, everything is made from the richest wood and golden decorations dancing on the walls with the many rich looking people drank together. They all then looked to see the man who had entered.
"It's The S Ranker!"
"Look how cute this young man is!"
"Give me an autograph!"
Jacko is then suddenly overwhelmed by the people crowding all around him, the guards were pushing them back and telling them to stand down.
"Make way! Make way dammit!" A large man with an even larger mustache powered through the crowd, greeting the Golden Guard. "I'm the owner of this Tavern, I hereby allow you access to the VIP rooms, please enjoy yourself!" The man greeted the man hiding between the guards.
"I want to drink here." Jacko then told, not knowing why he said that. He recalled the bustling energy on the tavern he used to work at, he didn't know how much he missed the sounds of overlapped talking and eavesdropping on stories.
The guards then lead him to a table, a crowd still around him. The Gold Guard he spoke with before sat in front of him. "Are you sure you don't want to stay in the VIP room?" The guard asked. Jacko nodded.
"It reminds me of...home." Jacko told, then a waiter with fancy leather clothing pours him a drink of pure red wine in a golden goblet.
Jacko gasped as he saw the man leave. "Wait!" He called out, the waiter turning. "Please...give the guards drinks too." Jacko told, the crowd murmured as they are confused as well.
The waiter then proceeded to pour the drinks for all 9 Golden Guards surrounding him on the table, he looked at his drink and all the strange looks the Guards gave to him. "Erm..." Jacko held up his drink.
"Someone...once told me...shit must go down before one starts drinking..." He told, the guards nodded.
"I...didn't like the time I had in those dungeons...I lost some friends, it hurt a lot." Jacko continued. "I also experienced pain, the pain from the battles I fought, but it always brings me guilt." The guards steeled their faces, for they understood what a lone survivor may feel.
"Well...I don't know, I forgot what to say." He sighed, some guards chuckled, but they kept their understanding atmosphere.
"Oh right...and I'd like to drink to everyone who joined me in that journey. They fought well and, yeah...Lets drink!" He tried imitiating a speech he had heard from the guild before. He then drank up the entire cup of wine, coughing after drinking and his head started to feel light.
The guards drank up as well, cheering for Jacko. There were some of the crowd who listened and drank with him...
He then raised up his head with a chuckle. "That actually tasted good..." He said, looking up.
"I'd like another please."
