Believe it or not, the wizard or mage kind of class was a very popular pick among players… until they realised how hard it is to play spellcasters in AdVRSe. Kiting is relatively easy to perform when you are playing an MMORPG with keyboard and mouse. However, such a thing is really difficult when you have to control your ‘body’ in the virtual world, making sure of your positioning, your distance with target or opponents, directions of incoming attack, and aiming for your spells while running away. Trust me, even as a paladin, that is one tough action to pull.

Mobbing, which is often the reason these mages or wizards classes are picked, was not in any way better. Aiming spells are often difficult even with automatic assistance, but landing a ranged AoE spell is a brand new difficulty level. Imagine doing it constantly towards a lot of moving targets… I will say good luck for your accuracy.

Putting that aside, I have to admit that having a skillful wizard is a massive advantage for a team.

If I am not mistaken, wizards in Zurefgar focus on manipulating energy. Physics wise, it made sense if they can only use heat, cold, and pure energy magic. In the real world, I think these wizards are definitely physicists like Rudolf Clausius because what is all of this but simple thermodynamics?

Due to the three principal magic they use, wizards have six path choices. Pure’s Offence is the path for pure energy attack, you know… imagine like shooting lasers at your opponent or some sort.

For heat based spells, they can take Blazing Strength which adds more destructive power or Pyrotechnique for more variation and versatility. Likewise, for cold spells they could pick Frozen Cold for power or Winterfury for versatility.

One of the most interesting paths is Enlightenment, which is not about the variation of pure energy spells, but towards the manipulation of energy. From what I heard, this path is rather tricky to build but would be greatly beneficial when done right.

Now… It seems that Nubram picked both heat and cold paths, I wonder if I can allude him to pick enlightenment as well.
