Darrick was walking towards the classroom. Today he had Geography class first thing in the morning and he wasn't thrilled about it, not with whatever the hell happened last night. As he was going to the class he met Leon on the way. It looked like he was expecting Darrick here. When he saw Darrick, the first word out of his mouth was,
"You look horrible, like what happened?"
"Leave it alone, it was nothing. Why are you here? I thought you didn't have any classes this morning."
"I don't, I was waiting for you here."
"Then you should have just knocked on my door. We live next to each other."
"I was on a walk through the city, then a letter flew to me informing of their arrival."
"Who?" Darrick asked with the same bluntness he had for this whole conversation but he was brightened up with what Leon told him.
"The dealers. Ones I told you about that day."
"Blueprint ones?"
"Yeah, they have opened their shop somewhere in the city. We can go today whatever time you are free."
"After the third period then, We have spell craft class at that time. What about you? Are you free in the fourth period?"
"I can skip some classes, there isn't anything special on the first week anyway. Then is that time good?"
"Yeah," Darrick answered and left the scene for his geography lessons.
Why did I even choose geography anyway? Oh yeah! I was too excited to know about the world at that time. If you wanted to know about the world then you should have just done travelling, stupid past me. Because of you, I'll be the one suffering.
Darrick sighed. Something was wrong with him today, he couldn't even finish his exercises this morning. Just a simple sleep deprivation wouldn't have caused him this much discomfort. The lack of sleep wasn't the first time but whatever was happening right now was certainly the first time.
He was a bit late for the class. The class had already started and the professor was doing a bit of introduction then the professor saw Darrick at the door with the corner of his eyes and then gestured for him to come in.
Darrick complied and entered, sitting at a second-row seat, just as he sat professor was also done with his introduction. Darrick hoped the class wasn't so boring he would fall asleep.
"Okay class, with my introduction done we will do some recap of what you have learnt in your previous Academies. Okay, whichever academy you have learnt before it doesn't matter. The things I'm going to list are a mandatory part of the curriculum and all of them should have been taught, unless you are from a different nation. Let us get on to it."
"Run-through of the complete Zalin kingdom's important landmarks, biomes, territories, important dungeons, monster-infested places and forbidden areas. All of them should have been taught to you. We will advance one step this time and talk about the whole world and..."
Darrick was already dozing off. He slept soundly and no one woke him up for the whole duration of the class, when he raised his head no one was there in the class. He alone was soundly asleep in this place it seemed. He turned his head to see outside the window and he remembered.
"Oh shit! I have to pick up the sigil with my ID and I hope it's not too late for it. I won't be able to show my face at the spell craft class without the sigil."
Darrick left in such a rush that he almost tripped himself but barely managed to balance his body. He checked the time in the corridor clock, it was only 11: 48 am. It was not that late so he headed towards his dorm rooms to pick a thing.

"Where did I keep that slip? It should have been somewhere around here. Did I place it somewhere else last time when I was searching for the dagger and the lighter? Wait! It's mostly likely still there in my pocket."
Darrick was rummaging through his room, but he was still yet to find the slip he was given the day he arrived here. The old man there has said it was very important and Darrick found the pants he wore that day. The slip was there where he kept it in his left pocket but the right pocket was a bit heavier than it should have been.
There was a coin in there, a plane silver coin with no markings whatsoever. It was smooth, circular and flat. An ideal coin, he tossed it once before Identifying it but there was no description on it so he pocketed it in his today pants and hurried for the assistant building

"Hello! Do you remember me?" Darrick asked in a cheerful tone, too cheerful even. So cheerful that it was a bit suspicious but the Oldman just corrected his glasses and said,
"I do Mr. Darrick Vental, you are a day later than what I told you the optimal time for the ID collection."
Darrick smiled sheepishly at that and replied while scratching the back of his head, "Things like that happen all the time. Everyone is busy with their own life, you can't expect everyone to be the same, can you?"
"Yes, that's enough philosophy from you today. Give me the slip and take your ID and sigils." The Oldman slid an orb, a really small one, the size of a marble and the ID card. Darrick kept them in his pocket and saluted the Oldman before leaving the place. Darrick thought while rubbing the orb in his pockets
This feels similar to the orb from the parcel but vastly different. This is so small and it lacks something, like it's not full yet, or maybe complete is the word? I can't be too sure but this would be my first official sigil. Even if that orb was the same thing as this, it didn't give me anything special so only you are my true sigil.
There was a lot of time until spell craft class started so Darrick decided to try out the canteen food for once after so many days of setting foot on the academies ground. The expectations were a bit low as he remembered the canteen food from every single place he went to study for in his last life. But still, there was no harm in trying out the food at least once.

Bleh! Is that a rule for the canteen food to be barely edible?
He was sitting inside a classroom. This time he had come a lot earlier for the class and was bored out of his mind but still, he somehow passed the time by tapping the desk in rhythm, now it was almost time for the classes to start. The students started to pour in, one after another.
The seats around him were mostly empty. He wanted someone to sit beside him to pass the boredom but it was to no avail. He was just about to change his seat when the guy with glasses stepped inside the class with a pair of pointed ear siblings with him. They walked up to him and occupied the seats around him.
Jasper sat on his right side, Leon on the left and Jasmine sat on the left of Leon. Some students, only noble ones got up from where they sat and then surrounded these seats for some reason. Whatever it may be, the place that was so lonely was suddenly bustling with people. Leon had barely said hi and then the professor walked in.
He was the same person he had met at the staff building when he was slightly lost for directions. The professor looked like a professor while being a spell craft teacher, although he was a professor, he was also a mage so looking more like a professor betrayed his unrealistic expectations a bit.
What kind of thought process is that? How can I get surprised with my thoughts? Am I judging the book by its cover too much? I should reflect upon it if I ever remember this thing after the class, surely.
"Ahem, hello students. My name is Adil Radon, I'll be your spellcraft teacher for this year. I'd love to start the class right away this instant, but sadly I was instructed not to rush but we got something else to do in our class right now and that is to bear your first sigil so please bring out your sigil orbs."
Except for the people who already had a sigil everyone else took out their orbs from wherever they kept them. The class was rowdy, and the aspect of becoming a real mage and starting a new journey in life was always exciting whoever they were.
"Well then, let me explain something about this particular sigil orb to you before you bear the sigil. This a very important thing that would determine your future. The sigil you get from this is completely luck based so you could get the best of the best or the worst of the worst sigil."
The whole class descended into chaos. The reveal was huge however you see it, the chance some getting nothing was worrying most people while getting something really good was also exciting someone else. Even the nobles didn't know about this apparently, judging by their faces and behaviour they were surprised to hear something their family had not told them yet.
"That's such a crappy lie, even my three-year-old niece could come up with a better lie than that."
"You have a brilliant niece, Mr Sentry, maybe she is already smart enough for Caladric to come here and study. You should ask about it with your family. Ahem, I was getting off the track but yes it was a joke. Everyone would get the same sigil named, Imaginary."
"The name may sound awesome to you but it's just the most basic sigil of all. It can create force, as most if not all sigils are byproducts of different kinds of force so this can also evolve into different kinds of sigils, hence the name Imaginary."
It turned out to be a lie. The outrage was obvious but Professor Adil didn't care enough about it. He just continued rambling about the how and whats of the sigils and it looked like he was back in the class once again.
"Now that you know about the sigil we will start the process of sigil bearing. The one you have is a non-attribute sigil so you can just press it on your chest and it will be done. If you had to bear an attributed one then you had to have a catalyst of the same attribute with you but it is none of our concern for now."
"So everyone you can start the process anytime you want, there will be no pain or any other complication so you don't need to be afraid of it. The only thing difficult would be the next step after you bear the sigil, we will come to that in a minute after everyone is done."
Most were eager to try out this new thing, and with permission from the professor, there was no stopping anyone. Everyone pressed it on their chest, and Darrick too did the same. There was a faint glow of light wrapping him in its warm embrace and it gradually diminished till it was completely gone.
Darrick felt the itch on his soul. He concentrated and gazed upon his soul to check what the disturbance was. When he looked closely at the surface there was a circle there, his clear and smooth soul had a simple but profound-looking circle. It was the sigil.
What does the profound-looking circle mean? Does this make any sense or am I just weird?
He came out of his soul place which he didn't even know existed until a few days ago. He looked around to see students concentrating hard to do something. His head turned towards Leon,
"They are trying to sense their soul. Apparently, it becomes dramatically easy after bearing a sigil."
"So all that gruelling meditation and work I did that day was just waste?"
"See around you. They are trying their best to sense soul right now but they won't be done with it till tomorrow. Look at you, you are also just relaxing with us because you already know that."
Darrick shrugged at that argument. It was very logical so he just gave up and just relaxed. The pointy ears of Jasmine fell into his sight so he asked her a bubbling question he wanted to ask before so he asked Jasmine a question,
"Who are you people?"
