CHAPTER 14. THE ARCHIVE

Darkness was the only thing around, there was nothing else, this place felt the same as the one where he first initiated the system. No sound, no light only his thoughts were there with him in this lonely darkness. The blob of light he touched was nowhere to be seen., just darkness until no end.

I'm here again! The last time when I was here I did not think anything about this place or I could say I wasn't thinking at all, and then I lost consciousness. Looks like there is nothing here forcing me to think certain things then I should probably try to analyze anything I can find here.

Darrick took a step ahead to see if there was any clue about this place and with that one step a light lit up his head. The sudden appearance of a light in such a darkness startled Darrick and he took a step back in fright. When he backed down the light also diminished. The emergence and disappearance of the light made Darrick more concerned about the situation.

He took one step ahead again to see if the same thing happened again and to his surprise it did. He was a little more confident, he was hoping for it to be a clue to something so he continued going forward, step by step, as he advanced the light became more pronounced. He took more steps towards the light and it started separating into six strands of different coloured light. All of them took a place for themselves in the half-dodecagon-shaped edges.

The six threads started to take shape and colours which he could comprehend. Just a few seconds ago Darrick hadn't noticed himself but there was no shape and colour to those blobs of light, they were just incomprehensible to his senses and now that was not the case anymore. All of the strands wove themselves to take the shapes of doors. Every door had different colours, designs, patterns and intent on them.

The first door had many ancient carvings all over its frames, the door was releasing black energy distinguishable from the overall darkness surrounding the place. On top of it, both the door and frame were made out of dark wood and that was decorated by ornate metal works. At the centre of the door, there was a large skull surrounded by dead vines and twigs. When stared into the empty holes of the eyes it gives an eerie feeling like the wailing of dead people and cries of dying children and it gives a sense of incoming death.

This door feels so dreadful. I can't get the look that skull gave me out of my mind. Are all doors like this?

Darrick was hesitantly turning his head towards the next door, his head was turning slowly, getting ready to face whatever there was but to his surprise, it was nothing like the first door. There was no feeling of loss and mourning. It was quite the opposite. The intent had felt like it was making him relaxed, there was no pain or suffering, and it was energizing.

It showed the life story of someone with just a glance. There was love, peace, fulfilment, happiness, shock, worry, devastation, despair, depression, acceptance, healing, resilience, hope, renewal, courage, determination, growth, gratitude, contentment, joy and many more. It was a piece of someone's life and this was just a glimpse at it.

Like the first door, it was also made up of wood, it was covered in many vines and the door as a whole had flowers of different shapes, colours and kinds decorating it as they grew on the vines. It was releasing a soft white light with a quiet hum.

The third door was not a physical door at all like the last two as it was made out of red energy layers stacked upon each other. The layers and layers of red energy were stacked in different places to give different textures rather than it being just a plane door. There were no intricate designs or ornate works on the door, only a few patterns at the top and with different textures of layers.

It was giving the the most bizarre and contradictory feelings, although it felt like it was holding everything together but at the same time it was also breaking it apart. The doors were oppressive, stealing the freedom to do anything but it also showed the liberation, feeling like you can do whatever you want and you can go wherever you need.

It was flowing, folding, static and more along with many other things. This was the thing that was encompassing everything. It was the most noble of them all.

The next one was also a non-physical door and it was made of green energy. The energy was constantly moving in a framework of its completeness but It was not just moving but also breaking down and being remade indefinite times in a matter of what felt like seconds. This was the heaviest of them all.

There was wisdom of the past, intelligence of the future and experience of the present in the pressure it was emanating. It was the stagnation and the change. It was never-ending, never stopping and never caring. Everything happened because it was meant to happen, everything is happening because that's what should be happening and everything will happen because that's how it is.

The door was giving a rough green light but it was soothing, all of the worries were gone. This light had clearer intent than the last three doors' light. It was saying something like 'The flow is everything and you have to ride the waves and tides to your destination, some may fail and some may pass but the journey never ends.'

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Just when Darrick was digesting everything he felt, he sensed a familiar tug at his soul, next door was calling for him, this felt more close and personal. When he turned his head towards it he saw a magnificent golden door made of true intents, every door had intents but it was made up of intent completely. The door was emanating the waves of golden power. The power was of the same origin as his 'Flames of Creation' and it recognized him as the emissary of it.

The door's feelings felt closer than all others, it may have even spoken to him with how eager it was to communicate with Darrick. It was giving him a new perspective of his abilities with the vision it was showing, the vision of the beginning.

The creation. The beginning of it all. Every being was dependent on creation. From the beginning of everything, every being had a need and that need turned into a necessity as time went on. That was the true beginning of creation. Anything needed for survival must be created out of necessity.

The creation kept on creating indefinitely. It was getting stronger and stronger suppressing everything else but one day chains fell on it and the dormant darkness it was suppressing surfaced, it fought for its rightful place but the chains defeated it and the darkness was at the same level as it. Even though it was light, the one meant to banish the darkness but now the darkness and light were barely holding each other down.

The creation started dwindling, Light got weaker and weaker, the darkness grew unimaginably then everything became nothing. The darkness was in triumph but the chains came back and it bound the darkness this time and let the light grow. This cycle happened again and again. There was no end to it nor any beginning.

The door of creation had not just given pieces of emotions like others but the whole story of the beginning. It was apparent why that happened. Now only one door was left.

The last door was purple and it was also made of intent. When Darrick gazed at the door it felt like a bottomless pit of nothing and it showed him one single intent 'I am the darkness' That sentence alone sent chills down the spine. It was the true intent of the nemesis of creation, The destruction.

It was inviting Darrick to touch the door and he started mindlessly walking towards it with his hands stretched out, just when he was about to touch it there appeared a gigantic hand above him. The hand had a feel of both second and sixth doors. The hand was coming for him and it was just right above him, in a second it would crush him and he wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

Boom!

There appeared a blockade of white energy to stop the hand and the purple energy started gathering from the sixth door and it made another hand twice as big. The purple hand attacked the attacker with a wide swipe then the attacker's hand broke apart with a single swipe and it created a huge shockwave. Just before Darrick could get squashed by the shockwave, the red energy of the third gate enveloped him and he vanished.

"Haha hahaha"

On the pile of bones, a skeleton wearing luxuries was laughing loudly.

"What a man you are, my friend. You usurped the darkness and it stood against you that was not unexpected but you as a rightful holder of life for millennia were rejected by life for someone else. The archive must have already denied you an entry for a few hundred years and now your fate already seems bleak with the upcoming interference of Law of Fortune. Ha ha ha."

The skeleton got up from the piles of bones, it glanced around the landscape to see anything new but there was nothing but quiet and frozen ash. The skeleton shook its head. It waved its hand and tore open a portal to a dark mansion.

A lightning spontaneously appeared above the skeleton, striking towards it and within a second it was gone as fast as it appeared. There was not even a single scratch on the skeleton, it just brushed it off and it became serious in its tone.

"You will pay for destroying the system of reincarnation, Heavenly King. I never forget grudges, wait for me."

With those words skeleton stepped into the portal and when it disappeared the portal closed on itself with a puff.

A woman with dark hair reaching down to her waist wearing green garments with gold patterns decorating all over the dress was standing in front of a statue of the withered tree with her hand clasped. Many more green wearers were kneeling behind her awaiting her words.

"I have witnessed a catastrophe shortly. We need to be prepared for it. Where is our Saintess?"

One of the kneeling men answered,

"She entered an unknown fragment a few months ago, she hasn't come out yet Archpriest."

"Send her a message immediately to come back. That child is one of the most crucial persons in this catastrophe. Tell her that the great will have called upon her."

The people below nodded in agreement.

"Then you are dismissed."

***

"Little rat, I thought you died but it looks like fate wants us to meet again, if that's what fate wants then no one can stop it."

The young man in a white robe said in a loud voice. He waved his hands and red energy erupted from it and the mansion behind him started to rearrange itself, it slowly rearranged everything from the centre to the edges of the floating mansion, located in the middle of nowhere.

The heavenly king in his dark form appeared in front of the people who were kneeling in wait for his arrival. The man in the lead of them stood up and greeted him.

"My lord! You have personally descended to this lowly world. Please give me orders, I shall carry it till my last breath."

Heavenly king just ignored the man's words as it was some buzzing of the fly and got straight to his point as there was no point in mingling with mere insects.

"Are preparations done?"

"Yes, milord!"

"Good then, when you leave for mission bring at least two more bishops with you, there are more and more disturbances. The archive is stirred and only three are capable of it and all of their motives and locations are unknown to us, now we must wait and see what is going to happen"

"Yes, milord!"

And the Heavenly king disappeared with a soft zap. He was back again on his throne in the celestial heaven.

"It must have been her who was interfering, there is no one else left in this world to whom all the six doors would respond. It looks like you are preparing to foil my plans, let me see what you can do."
