You have found an undiscovered dungeon!
You have discovered your first dungeon at a relatively early point in the game, and have earned the title Dungeon Seeker., granting you a 10% Skill and Proficiency increase in dungeons, and 25% Skill and Proficiency increase in dungeons you discover.
L nodded to himself, somewhat satisfied he had won the gamble. Killing Thrawl just for the loot was certainly not worth it considering the alignment penalties he had gained. At some point, he might become an enemy of some of the more righteous Godly Entities and will be constantly hunted, and in some cases will not be able to freely move in cities.
But L needed the monsters to get away with Tel’s body, otherwise finding their hideout was next to impossible. Thrawl would have eventually found and slaughtered the monsters and L would have received an enormous penalty for failing to save his daughter.
Though by discovering this dungeon not only would get L out of his tricky early game difficulty curve but also give him much more options to play with.
Well, as long as he does not perish in doing so.
L glanced at the darkest corners of the cave, trying to prey out any hostile entities. He walked slowly, his Dark Vision unburdened by the lack of light. After a couple of minutes of walking, a pond began to run along to his left, a pond which L happily avoided for two good reasons. One, was that he had seen enough tentacle porn to avoid waters in dark caves. Second, the pond had glow vines surrounding it. The light was weak, but considering L could see perfectly well in Darkness, for about 50 yards or so, he definitely did not need it. Being near the pond light also meant seeing out from it was made difficult.
He unsheathed his short sword, taking in the gleam of its clean edges before considering his options.
No, stop it! It’s not yet time for this yet.
L sheathed his newly acquired short sword and pushed on, hunting for any signs. It was not time to be impatient yet. Scouting came first, then he would cut open his first victim.
An eerie silence was his response. The droplets of water echoed in the cave.
L shrugged and kept moving on, pulling his status screen before him as he made careful progress.

L shook his head. Both the fame and idiocy stats were not real. Decent progress, otherwise, though his Strength Scaling was an enormous penalty. Each point inputted in strength would only provide L .82 of its value. That barred L from pursuing a Strength related archetype, and though there were ways to change the Scaling of a character those were methods were wide and few. L’s only choice, if he wanted to fight on the front-lines, was through a Racial Evolution that would change the entirety of his Scaling. His highest stat was currently Intelligence, but even if Darklings had a decent Mage related tree line L doubted he wanted to pursue such a mundane class archetype.
That left Ranger, Assassin, and Spellsword play-styles.
Ranger did not seem too bad, but L liked it up close and personal. He wanted to feel the edge of battle. Assassin and Spellsword he’d already experienced, but both lacked a brutality to them. L did not want finesse. He wanted raw and unfiltered crushing of his enemies.
Something strange happened, then. The darkness surrounding his body blinked awake, and moved according to forces uncontrolled by L.
The journey of a Darkling is a difficult one. Birthed from Death, Despair, and Nothingness, they are despised, hunted, and separated as a force alien to mankind.
Yet they still implore you to sacrifice yourself against the Chaos and Corruption forces. Would the foolish ones rather waste such power to fight the Chaos and Corruption they have wrought? Though you might be abandoned, take heed, for the possibility of power is ever within reach. You have begun to grow the Body.
You have finished your first Evolution, The Way Of The Darkling I, and have gained the following new parameter Body of The Half Darkling. Your actions will now impact the Growth of your body parts even further.
Body of The Half-Darkling

L’s hands and feet tingled slightly, the concentrated Darkness swirling like little flames. He felt the Dark Mana crawling up his wrists and ankles slowly. It irritated his skin as it did so, but halted after an inch of progress.
Then the real pain began. His hands and feet began to sizzle as the Darkness sunk deeper into his skin. L grunted as he felt the needles pierce his flesh and infect his blood. His body shook as he felt his hands and feet being reformed.
The scraping of stone perked L’s ears. He dismissed the status screen with a whiff of his mind and pushed himself against the edges of the wall, hiding most of his body in the crevice of the wall.
Four small child like things made their way into edges of L’s vision, about 50 yards away. They walked closer to the light of the pond, giving L two vital pieces of information. One, they could not completely see in the darkness. Two, though they walked on the edges of the pond, meaning that the pond was safe of any tentacles.
As they got closer, the tint of their purple smooth skin made itself apparent to L. They were about 3 feet tall, with bare skin and no hair. Their heads were circular, the size of an adult head, and with two hideous oval eyes spanning half of their heads.
They were equipped with two oddly shaped clubs, a badly damaged sword, and a dagger. Not having the identification skill, L could not see their rank or what type of creature they were. He would have to research their odd features later.
“Dieshik Tinkin Da”
“Kleul.”
“Ashk tesih like diole?”
“Kleul!
“Look Tsilus!”
L snicker nearly gave his position away. It looks like his title also gave him the ability to understand any word that starts with an L, or the sound of L too, probably. That minuscule knowledge, as tiny as it was, let him know that titles also granted effects not fully listed in the description.
Goodness is the AI subtle.
L did not engage. The bonuses of Shadow’s Embrace was at a full 50%, but getting closer to the lights of the river would make it drop to a 15% increase. Even then, fighting 4 of those shits at the same time was a bit of a tall order for his first battle. They passed him without a pause.
L followed, staying as far to the edges as he could.
