And let’s just go ahead and minimize the all the minimized sections next time too.
So for abilities, I still got Remote vision and the addition of a new job option for Warriors, the Scout. A Scout, besides recording everything they see when they get back into my reach, can also go out and carry out gathering missions.
With remote vision, they can share with me what they see as they see it, and even send me their recording of their last moments if they are killed.
So maybe remote vision next level, right now there is a lot of grime and filth that I can already see. As well as a very large house for them to explore.
Scouts it is.
For now, I just switch two gatherers to scouts. I want to see how well they work and survive before I make a large commitment of my creature slots.
Now for my spell… Oh yeah, I got an Identify spell I could be using for all these unknown materials I’ve been finding.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
Identify, wait twenty minutes, Identify, wait. Identify…
A few hours later. I find out that I got metals, some of which I know. I also got some kind of gas called Freon that I got no clue how to use. And a bunch of various materials including wood, paint, enamel, and plastic.
I’m sure some of it will come in handy, for repairing things if nothing else.
As far as my new spells go. I got light. I can place spots of light that stay lit up by drawing on this world’s background magic. The spell can do sorts of colors and shapes as long as they are flat on a surface.
I guess it could be useful for some of my guys. So I put a few dimly lit up spots tucked under the fridge so my critters can see at night. But not bright enough for my host to notice.
Speaking of which. Here comes my host, humming to herself as she opened some sort of container and dumped the contents into a bowl before setting it on the ground, which Buttercup then pounced on like the beast hasn’t eaten in years.
The old woman then tore open two paper packages from a cupboard and dumped them in a bowl before fiddling with something on top of the counter that sounded like flowing water before stirring it up with a spoon in her bowl.
Setting it down, she turned and walked up to the fridge. Then she pulled the door open.
At which point another ball of light appeared within and the entire interior of the fridge lit up. Wisely I had already ordered the gatherers inside the fridge to conceal themselves. No one likes seeing roaches around their food.
I could see more food stuff on transparent glass shelves above my reach. Which even as smeared with filth as they are, I could see through them well enough to see more containers up above.
And my hosts shocked face.
“Why… what happened? Why is there fresh food in the fridge? Who the heck was in my house and cleamed just the lower shelves and vegetable bins?”
As she reached in to examine my rent payments, her hand came within my reach, and I was able to hit her with identify.

Iris Deslover
Martial artist 1
Well, a fist fighter then. Huh? Even seventeen years ago she would have still been kind of elderly. How the heck did she get that class assigned to her?
And with only one level... At her age, how much longer could she last?
I was going to need to level Iris up.
There is nothing in my dungeon book but a base description of the Martial Artist class. I think the starting class quests are to defeat ten opponents in a dungeon and another one was to win a tournament with opponents of the same level.
Would squashing my bugs count for her class quest? They should be worth something even at Copper one. Maybe she could even level up with enough Base rank creatures.
After all, silver ranks did get rewards for defeating copper opponents and challenges, just at one-tenth of the normal reward.
It has been a long time since I helped power level someone.
While I considered sending out some roaches for her to battle. Deslover was still trying to figure out what was going on with her fridge.
“Did someone reverse rob me? Or did I go shopping, and cleaned a bit then just forgot? Damn girl, you’re going to be put in a home soon.”
She fished out a handful of dried berries from a paper canister and closed the fridge. Making her way over to her bowl, she dumped them in and put the bowl into another cabinet. This one resting on a counter top and then she manipulated it into making some beeping sounds and its interior lit up and began to hum.
Coming back to the fridge, she reopened it to look inside again and slowly shrugged. Then after a moment, she turned as the lit up cabinet made another series of chirps at her before she closed the fridge, retrieved her bowl, gathered up her spoon, and walked off out of sight.
