Still under a fridge. Mood- Impatient.
I had made my first level as a Defender the same day I had gone into my first dungeon. Granted I already had three experience points from killing various rogue magical beasts. But I got the other seven I needed in just a few hours. But I guess it’s different as a dungeon core.
We didn’t even lose anyone on my first dungeon run, so I don't know if the dungeon core even gets any kind of reward in return for the seven points I got.
I never really thought how frustrating that must have been for “The virgin dungeon.” but I guess “Virgie” was in it more for our benefit now that I know it was just someone else doing a job.
Thanks for being gentle for my first time, “Virgie.”
I could now see signs of the sun coming up outside of the window on my second day and I had only gotten three build points. Which seemed to be experience points for dungeons. All three of them were from achievements.
The options I had for building more new rooms lacked the resources, but I had only stripped all the gunk and mold off of half of my ceiling. Maybe after I finish up there I can risk a few workers to finish off the floor nearer the edge of the under space. After all, I got two points of magic burning a hole in my nonexistent pocket.
Might as well burn them replacing expendable gatherers to get the material I need.
...or I can look to see if I can use any Base level spells.
Manual time.
What I got is the identify spell. One point to use with a range equal to three times my reach.

So identify tell me the ceiling above me appears to be the bottom of a Refrigerator, a device which keeps food cooled or even frozen in the upper chamber within it.
Well, that's clever.

The wood cabinet with the hole in it is a wood cabinet. Well, now I know.
After a bit, I find out the floor is covered with a material called linoleum that is mainly made up of tree sap.
Which is ripped up in various spots revealing a wooden floor underneath. So I guess the old woman is unlikely to notice If I borrow some.
[ You have discovered linoleum. You may now produce linoleum from general material]
Oh good. I can fix up the floor later.
[Your dungeon is under attack!]
[ Your core room is in danger!]
What? Oh shoot, I never reassigned my Warriors to guard my core. I just got the one guy at the door… who is perfectly fine. What I got is an ant taste testing the back wall of my core room.
You want to eat something, my little friend. Eat death! “Get him boys!”
[ You have slain an ant. Ants are below the threshold for BP.]
[Quest: 10 ant, 10 ant. Kill 10 ants. Reward 1 BP]
[Quest: Killer queen. Destroy the ant queen. Reward 10 BP]
[ You have repelled the first attack on your core. Reward 1 BP ]
All righty, the first big quest. Oh, my gods. This is what counts as a big quest to me now. Anyways, the queen is a bit too much for me now, mainly in trying to find her, but a full ten points would be pretty nice. Meanwhile, ants will keep coming so getting ten for defending my core, which I would be doing anyways, is a free point, and after the next ten, they’re free material to collect.
Speaking of which...
[You have discovered a sample of an Ant. Do you wish to add Ant to your summoning list?]
Yes. Not that it seems like it be much use. But I will take anything I can get right now.
And here comes Buttercup. I may not be paying attention to my own safety, but I’ve been keeping an eye out for the mangy bugger. "Everyone get back to the safety line. Keep back out of his reach until he pisses off."
Really the bottom of the fridge is now pretty much cleared. Once the beast wanders off again I risk two gatherers to finish off the area in the cat danger zone until it’s clear.
The rest, well they are working their way up the back of the fridge that is out of my sight but hopefully also out of Buttercup’s reach. The interior of the refrigerator can be accessed from below. As long as I tell the gatherers to only gather loose material they shouldn’t damage anything.
"Gather me some good stuff boys. Fill my coffers, daddy needs a… breeding room?"
Looks like it's one of the only things I can build right now. Other than a guard post or a storage room. And the breeder room is cheaper. I can build one for each kind of creature and stock it with a magic point per rank of the room to automatically replace gatherers and warriors as they get killed.
May not be exactly what I need at the moment, but I can leave them shut down until I do need them. And since I got enough now, I just have to change a gatherer into a builder. Gatherers can build, but they do it a lot slower.
Work hard little guy. Get me some more BPs.
