Chapter 35: The Crevasse

Chapter 35: The Crevasse

The rock fell into the crack, falling into the dark unknown depths. It expanded into a seemingly unending crevasse of no return. It happened to be somewhat hourglass shaped with the crack narrowing to a point where barely anything could fit through before expanding outwards again. Even the rock, with its small size, could not fit through and got caught between two walls, trapped and floating in the air.

Down in the depths, the light was limited. However, there was some light. Metallic crystals and ores littered the ground and their shine illuminated the surroundings. Other than these, the crevasse was relatively bare. However, with how far it seemed to extend, who knew what horrors lurked in the depths?

Just then, the whole world seemed to shake slightly. Something was angry, something that was large enough to affect the entire world. The den of the beast that the rock was in previously shifted somewhat, allowing sunlight to leak through and land upon the rock. The shaking intensified and got closer to the rock acting like a beacon.

Pieces of dirt and rock fell from the walls as this creature came closer. It revealed itself to be a six-legged demon with massive jaws and was covered in armor. It saw the light upon the rock and wanted to destroy it. It scaled the walls with ease and began destroying the walls and widening the gap. In mere moments, it cleared the debris and readied itself to strike.
