In the last chapter, The Wolf King, after initially appearing as a fierce
and powerful leader of the Iron Claw Clan unexpectedly accepts a peace offering from Ember and Mister Ryu. However, he revealed that his power was limited by a force greater than himself, which prevented him from granting passage to certain regions, including the Heart of the Forest and the ancient temple on the tallest mountain. The Wolf King explained that the temple was guarded by forgotten beings and intricate traps, designed to protect the Heart of the Forest. Only those with true power, combined with something beyond mere strength, could gain access. When asked what the temple sought, he hesitated before explaining that it sought something beyond conventional power, leaving Ember and Mister Ryu to ponder what qualities might prove one's worthiness to enter the sacred temple.
"Only those with the ability to dominate over others and rule over the masses can gain access to the temple; it's not that easy to enter. One must first pass the trials set by the temple," said the Wolf King, his voice carrying a grave tone that echoed through the clearing.
Ember and Mister Ryu exchanged determined glances, realizing the gravity of the situation. The trials ahead were not just physical challenges but tests of character and leadership. It was not merely about having power but about using it wisely and justly, for the greater good. They knew that the temple sought not just strength, but the strength of spirit, the power to lead with wisdom and compassion.
"We accept the challenge," Ember said, her voice steady with conviction. "We understand the responsibility that comes with true power. We will face the trials with humility and learn from them, proving ourselves worthy of the temple's secrets."
The Wolf King regarded them with a mix of respect and solemnity. "Your words show promise. May your actions reflect the strength of your conviction. Remember, the temple does not bestow its knowledge lightly. It demands a price, but the rewards are immeasurable for those who prove worthy."
With a final nod, the Wolf King turned around and started walking into the shadows, leaving Ember and Mister Ryu with a sense of purpose and a daunting challenge ahead.
Before the Wolf King disappeared I asked one last question to the Wolf King, "Excuse me for my earlier lapse in etiquette, Mister King. May I inquire about your name?" acknowledging my previous oversight.
The Wolf King paused as if surprised by the question. A soft rumble, like a chuckle, escaped his throat before he answered, his voice carrying a hint of amusement. "Well, people usually call me the Wolf King, but once a passerby gave me a name. So, you can call me Gaza," said the Wolf King, his eyes reflecting the flickering light of the forest.
Gaza, it is then," I replied with a nod, feeling a newfound sense of camaraderie with the powerful being before me. His willingness to share his name felt like a bridge, connecting our worlds in a way that made the daunting challenge ahead seem a little less formidable.

With Gaza's name echoing in my mind, I turned to Mister Ryu, who wore a knowing smile. It was a smile that spoke of understanding as if he had anticipated this moment of connection. Together, with the knowledge of the trials and the name of the enigmatic Wolf King in our hearts, we stepped forward, ready to face whatever lay ahead in the temple on the tallest mountain.
The followers of Gaza helped us reach the bottom of the tallest mountain. The followers of Gaza proved instrumental in guiding us to the foot of the towering peak. Their assistance was invaluable, and in heartfelt gratitude, Mister Ryu shared a portion of meat with them as a token of our appreciation. Their gracious help had become a beacon lighting our path toward the looming temple, a testament to the unexpected alliances forged on this extraordinary journey.
As we stood before the imposing silhouette of the tallest mountain, a sense of foreboding gripped us, acknowledging the significant peril that lay ahead. With trepidation, we unfolded the ancient map, its weathered parchment crackling softly beneath our fingers. To our astonishment, the intricate script on the map seemed to stir once more, revealing the precise location of the temple. Yet, frustratingly, the script remained silent about the intricacies of the trail that would lead us there.
We exchanged anxious glances, realizing that the path to the temple was shrouded in mystery, obscured by the veil of ancient secrets. Our hearts, fueled by a combination of determination and fear, urged us forward. With a shared resolve, we set foot on the mountain's base, ready to navigate the unknown, trusting in our wits and each other as we ventured into uncharted territory, where the answers to our questions and the fate of our quest remained uncertain.
The moment we stepped onto the mountain, the earth beneath us quaked violently, causing the nearby land to fractures and fissures to emerge.
"What's happening?" I asked.
"I believe the trail has begun, so we must stay vigilant," replied Mister Ryu, swiftly retrieving his gear.
Amidst the seismic tremors, massive figures made of iron emerged from the fractured earth, their eyes glowing with an otherworldly light. Iron Golems, guardians of the mountain, loomed before us, their presence formidable and menacing.
With weapons drawn and hearts pounding, Mister Ryu and I stood our ground. The battle with the Iron Golems had begun. Their movements were surprisingly swift for their size, and their iron fists struck the ground, sending shockwaves through the mountain.
Ducking and dodging, we fought back, our strikes calculated and precise. Each blow against the Iron Golems sent echoes through the rocky terrain. Despite their immense strength, we held our own, relying on our agility and teamwork to outmaneuver the metallic giants.
Mister Ryu, with a shield in one hand, defended himself as I was landing kicks, targeting the joints of the Iron Golems, while I used my knowledge of the past to damage the core of the golems.
The battle raged on, the clash of metal against metal echoing in the mountainous expanse. We fought with unyielding determination; our every move was fueled by the urgency of our quest. Gradually, blow by blow, we wore down the Iron Golems, their movements slowing as our attacks took their toll.
Finally, with a coordinated strike, we incapacitated the last Iron Golem, its glowing eyes fading into darkness. The mountain fell silent once more, the echoes of battle lingering in the air. We caught our breath, weary but victorious, knowing that this fight was just the beginning of the challenges that awaited us on our journey to the temple's depths.
"Mister Ryu, did you observe something peculiar about the way the golems were producing noise? It seemed like they were chanting something,” Ember asked curiously.
"If my understanding is correct, they were murmuring something like ‘Protect the Iron Maiden.’ We should consider taking a break before we resume our climb and confront the upcoming dangers," Mister Ryu suggested.
