Ember

A 17-year-old earthling who is an orphan living on the outskirts of an old village. She is now the reincarnation of Serene, the Soul Queen, who was one of the rulers of Aetheria and the one who led the ten emperors.

Ryu

An aloof and mysterious person who happens to be Ember’s neighbor. He claims to be a merchant, but from the looks of it, he seems to be from a noble background. From Ember’s point of view, Ryu seems to be hiding great powers.

In the last chapter, we saw Serene, the Soul Queen, who got reincarnated in the body of Ember, taking a medicinal bath to recover the memories of her past life. Her mind kept having many questions about why she got reincarnated. Just as she was lost in her thoughts, a faint glimpse from her memory, a silhouette of a very familiar person, came to her mind…..and then she mumbled…. “Crystalia?”

While thinking about reincarnation, she noticed her soul power was continuously depleting due to overwhelming mental stress. When she started to get a hold of herself, she felt that the medicinal liquid was replenishing her soul power at an astonishing rate, but at the same time, the medicinal bath was losing its effect.

“Miss Ember, is everything all right in there? You have been in there for a while now.” I heard Mister Ryu ask worriedly.

“Sorry, I was just finishing up. I’ll be out in a minute,” I said, returning to my senses.

I still felt uneasy and had mixed feelings about what I went through just now. I didn’t let it get to my brain and exited the bathtub. As I went to the mirror again, I was astonished to see the effect of the medicinal bath; the body was fully healed and gained quite a few muscles. After checking my physical condition, I put on the new set of clothes that were prepared by Mister Ryu and went out of the bathing chamber to see Mister Ryu waiting outside my room.

“How was the bath, Miss Ember? You are looking more beautiful than ever,” said Mister Ryu as soon as he saw me.

“I can’t thank you enough, Mister Ryu. The medicinal bath was very effective. I feel more refreshed than ever,” I said.

“Then I suggest you rest so that the medicinal properties take maximum effect,” said Mister Ryu.

“I, too, think that would be the best course of action right now. I want to Thank You again for your hospitality and help,” I said and started moving towards my house.

I returned to my house and saw the shabby of a place Ember used to live in. After cleaning and tidying up the area, I sat in the middle of the room and started meditating. While meditating, I observed that my meridians, blocked due to continuous bullying, are running with lots of vitality. Emphasized in meditation, I started to plan the course of action to take, going ahead to reach the top again.

“Wait, what is up with this huge amount of energy in the middle of my stomach.”

As I was focused on meditating, I discovered the innate talent of Ember. Astonished as I was, I couldn’t believe what I had found. Ember had the ultimate talent for weapons, which had the aura of a War Deity.

In ancient times, a War Deity was a being on par with Pseudo-Emperors and could even destroy a whole island by themselves in their prime.

Ember could master every weapon humanity had witnessed. This ancient ability, forgotten millenniums ago, allowed the wielder to control aura, which is quite difficult to master even by players of the skies.

“If I can master this innate talent using my knowledge from previous life, becoming a ranker would not be far away. Let’s find the perfect cultivation method to train myself to perfection.”

Searching through my memories for the perfect cultivation method, I chose one that even the Emperors wished they could learn.

‘Celestial Aura Ascension’ is a cultivation method that builds the foundation of the cultivator using Aura. In this method, the cultivator has to train at every level until perfection. This method incorporates Aura into the body's meridians and heart, resulting in unlimited energy sources.

“Yes, this is the perfect cultivation method to start from scratch, and it will go well with this body’s talent of War Deity. So without wasting any further time, let’s start cultivating.”

The first stage of ‘Celestial Aura Ascension’ is enhancing the physical body by running aura through every body part. This helps reinforce every cell of the body.

As Ember looks for clues of why she couldn’t perform the reinforcement on her body, she finds out that her body is still unfit for enhancement. To perform body reinforcement, she needs to strengthen her physical body so that the backlash of aura transfiguration would not harm her foundation.

I’ll continue with the ‘Celestial Aura Ascension’ technique later and focus on body tempering for now. Body Tempering is a training or conditioning process in which cultivators strengthen and toughen their physical bodies. This will help improve resilience, endurance, and overall physical capabilities.

“Let’s go out and look around Earth since it’s been a while since I have been down here,” I said and left the house.

While walking down the road, I could see why many people were tempted to leave Earth. It’s full of chaos and disasters because no proper administration oversees the denizens and citizens. Corruption, theft, and fights are familiar day-to-day sights. As I explored more, I realized that residing on Earth is a tricky situation one should never face.

Walking further, I came across an alley where I spotted the same hooligans who walked past my house and the ones who were responsible for Ember’s death.

“I guess I can clear up trash on Earth before climbing the skies,” I said.

As I approached the group of hooligans, they seemed to pay no attention to my presence, engaging in an argument. I could hear their harsh voices and see the anger in their eyes, a stark reminder of the chaos that plagued the streets. The memory of Ember’s death fueled my determination to make a change.

Taking a metal rod that I found on the corner of a garbage bin, I walked towards the hooligans. “Hey Guys,” I called out, catching their attention.

They turned to me, a mix of curiosity and hostility in their expressions. “What do you want?” one of them growled.

What happened next was something no one should ever witness in their life. It was a blood bath; It felt like I had lost control over my anger. But for a fact, I knew that this was not my anger but Ember’s anger.

After the blood bath, I returned to my house and created a small tomb behind the house in the backyard for Ember so that her soul could receive eternal peace. As I returned to the home, I felt a bit better emotionally but exhausted physically.

Now that I have taken Ember’s revenge, I started to address the current issue of this weak body.

I began to practice ‘Sky Body Resonance,’ one of the top body tempering methods used by high-rankers. ‘Sky Body Resonance’ strengthens the core and muscles, creating harmony like heaven and earth. It also helps enhance speed and agility by making the body feel light and ready for explosive power. The key to this method is deep breathing together with aura breathing. Before I resume practicing the ‘Celestial Aura Ascension’ technique, I should prepare my body with this body tempering method.

Now that I have an excellent body tempering method ready with me… I can sit down and start cultivating this method.
