In the last chapter, Ember and Mister Ryu, chosen by the Arcane Library for a quest, received a task in the Citadel Library: to hunt a minimum of a hundred goblins in the forest. Despite Ember's initial skepticism, they meticulously prepared, strategized, and ventured into the night. Ember, demonstrating her prowess, exceeded expectations by hunting around three hundred goblins. Exhausted but successful, they returned to the Citadel Library to submit their accomplishment, surprising the receptionist. While the usual receptionist was absent, the substitute rushed to complete the formalities, astonished by Ember's exceptional achievement.
Upon learning of the impressive number of goblins hunted by Ember, the substitute receptionist hurried to the cabin behind to promptly finalize all the necessary formalities.
"Miss Ember, I believe you may have exceeded the necessary extent," Mister Ryu remarked, expressing concern over Ember's extraordinary accomplishment.
"I had no choice; all the nearby goblin villages united. I only did it because the initial challenge was too trivial for me," Ember explained.
While the duo conversed, the receptionist emerged from the cabin, presenting them the final results and transmitting a copy to the manager. Having fulfilled all formalities, the duo received the task's reward—an upfront sum of one thousand gold coins and a Citadel membership. The membership granted easy access to the room for future needs.
While receiving their rewards, the duo expressed gratitude to the receptionist and bid farewell. As they headed towards the exit for some unknow reason Mister Ryu was smiling but was it just Ember overthinking just then a sudden door opening caught their attention. Reacting swiftly, they turned around to find the receptionist who had assisted them the previous day rushing towards them.
"Kindly pause for a moment, Mister Ryu and Miss Ember. I have crucial information to share with both of you," stated the receptionist.
"Receptionist, you appear distressed. Why not take a break, and we can discuss it later?" suggested Mister Ryu.
"Apologies, Mister Ryu, but waiting isn't an option. If you both don't mind, please accompany me. The Citadel's high manager wishes to speak with you," conveyed the receptionist.
"I can join you, but Miss Ember isn't appropriately dressed. If you can wait, we'll meet you here in 10 minutes," suggested Mister Ryu.
Observing Miss Ember's torn and muddy attire post-task, the receptionist had no choice but to patiently awaited their return.
After a brief wait, the receptionist guided them to the cabin of the Citadel's high manager. The hallway leading to the cabin was heavily guarded, and numerous receptionists were visible, reporting to various managers along the corridor.
"You've reached the cabin of the Citadel's High Manager; the High Manager is expecting you," informed the receptionist.

Stepping into the cabin, the duo beheld an extensive array of diverse antiques and relics. The well-lit room was adorned with numerous books, and at the room's far end, a massive table accentuated the overall spaciousness. Seated near the table was a handsomely attired man, emanating a commanding presence and exuding a powerful aura with a piercing gaze.
"Undoubtedly, you are Mister Ryu, and the one accompanying must be Miss Ember. I am Greg Shermon, the High Manager of The Citadel. I oversee the Citadel and administer the operations of Dawnspire city—akin to the city's mayor. Please take a seat. If you desire anything, it's my treat," expressed Greg.
"Appreciate the generosity, Mister Shermon. However, we're pressed for time. Could you enlighten us on the purpose of our summons?" inquired Mister Ryu.
Observing Mister Ryu skillfully steering the conversation, Ember opted to let him take the lead as the spokesperson, curious about the reason behind their summons.
"I understand your time is valuable, but I've received a report stating that Miss Ember has hunted nearly three hundred goblins. This is unprecedented and seems unrealistic for someone recently arrived at the first Sky," Shermon stated.
"I doubt this is the sole reason for our summons, considering numerous formidable individuals have showcased their strengths and set new records in tasks assigned by the Citadel," Mister Ryu remarked.
"As expected of you, Mister Ryu. Your keen observation and perception skills—perhaps honed through your merchant expertise," Shermon remarked.
“You flatter me Mister Shermon” said Mister Ryu.
"As you're aware, the Grandmaster Blacksmith visited the city recently, and although you desired a meeting, direct contact is impossible. Only those from the upper Skies or acknowledged by Sir Grandmaster Blacksmith can communicate with him," explained Shermon.
“Well, I did send a message to Sir Grandmaster Blacksmith yesterday and I am still awaiting his answer, is there something wrong with it” said Mister Ryu
"There's no issue with the message. However, today morning, Sir Grandmaster Blacksmith contacted me, inquiring about how to reach you. It's intriguing that someone from the upper Skies is showing interest in a newcomer. Could you satisfy my curiosity, Mister Ryu?" Shermon asked.
"Each person harbors their own secrets, and it's not prudent to pry into them, wouldn't you agree, Mister Shermon?" remarked Mister Ryu.
"Hahaha, Mister Ryu, conversing with you is remarkably enjoyable. It feels like I'm engaging with someone of great intellect. It's a pleasure to have such insightful discussions," Shermon chuckled.
"Mister Ryu, within this box is a communication crystal for conversing with Sir Grandmaster Blacksmith. It also holds a record stone sent by him. Additionally, I offer you my token, signifying my sponsorship. It will prove beneficial in your future endeavors," Shermon conveyed.
"I appreciate this, and I hope our paths cross again. As mentioned earlier, urgent matters await my attention. If it's acceptable, I would like to bid you farewell," Mister Ryu expressed.
Upon exiting the room, the receptionist guided them to their accommodations before returning to her duties. Contemplating the content of the message Mister Ryu had sent to Grandmaster Blacksmith and the urgency that prompted his early departure from High Manager Shermon's room, Ember couldn't help but ponder. Sharing her thoughts, she inquired of Mister Ryu.
"Mister Ryu, what message did you send to Grandmaster Blacksmith that prompted his response, especially with the involvement of the Citadel's High Manager? I'm also curious about your early departure from the room," Ember questioned.
"Miss Ember, time will unveil all that requires knowing and will soon satisfy your curiosity. Let's go inside first," Mister Ryu suggested.
