Announcer: Well, that was a sight to behold! The vector guild put their foot down and said “I am here!”, well no matter. Now next up is Luna from Elune and Davidae from Academy!
--- Chapter 100 ---
The two walkout. Luna looked ready for combat, the other guy wearing seemingly casual wear with heavy bags under his eyes. Luna seems uneasy about how easy-going or un-involved he is.
Announcer: THREE TWO ONE, GO!
Luna begins to run in, but her opponent raises his hand.
Davidae: Um, Mrs. Lady, uh, shouldn’t we like wish each other luck or something?
She begins to slow down confused. Her opponent lifts his hand forward to shake it. She walks forward hesitantly and shakes his hand.
Announcer: Wow! What sportsmanship!
Luna walks back a bit and gets ready. She pulls out her tablets.
Luna: Summon! Gole-
Her eyes go wide as she clenches her chest and collapses to her knees.
Announcer: W-what?! Does it seem she’s suffered a heart attack?!

Luna: What the hell? My heart, it hurts so bad!
The pain begins to subside and she gets up.
Luna: That must have been his arcana but how? Can he just give someone a heart attack? Or…
She thinks about the handshake.
Luna: That prick! I knew something was off. He did something when I shook his hand.
She looks at him, he has a slight smile on his face.
Davidae: Problem?
Luna: That handshake wasn’t just for luck. Was it?
Davidae: Nope. When I touched you, you became the target of my arcana.
Luna looks at him angrily, she lifts her hand into the sky, the fire begins to generate in her hand forming a ball. But, the ball disperses as she falls to the floor once again clenching her chest.
Davidae: You should really stop fighting. Every time you try to use mana, my “Arcana Bomb” activates, causing your heart to stop. So seriously, quit before it’s fatal. I don’t want that in my consciousness.
She stumbles to her feet.
Luna: Damn you!
Davidae: So, what will it be? You focused all your attention on training your arcana while forgetting that your body is still weak. That’s why mages privileged with hero-like arcana are so easy to defeat.
Luna: People who proclaim their victory so early are the ones usually defeated.
Davidae: What was that? Wait. My arcana is still active. That means…
Davidae’s eyes widen at the fact his arcana is active, meaning her heart is still stopped as she uses her mana.
A golem summons behind her.
Luna: Go… Virga.
The golem raises its arms, multiple tubes flow around its arms. A glowing yellow light emerges from the tubes, a blast of rapid-fire beams at Davidae. His eyes go wide as these beams pierce through him.
Davidae: Why. Why would you be so stupid to stop your heart for a silly contest?
He falls back, and Luna runs over to him. She pulls out a medkit and begins bandaging him up.
Luna: Cause it’s not just a contest, I want to help people. While it seemed you just wanted to prove a point, I would risk my life to save someone. That’s the difference.
Davidae: Huh, odd.
His eyes close and fade from consciousness.
Announcer: What an incredible battle! It was full of pride and betrayal! Well, either way, the next match is Anders from the Zengoku guild vs. the cloaked Levi from an independent trainer!
