Currently, Zane was sitting in a forest with a sword in his lap. He traveled with Blake’s group through the baren area for the rest of the day and the entire night. Usually, Blakes group would take several breaks as they traveled, but they no longer needed to since Zane did all the fighting.
Despite having Zane fight all of the demonic beast that attacked them, the group couldn’t continue running for as long or as fast as Zane. An hour after the group exited the baren area and entered the forest, Blake called for a break. Blake’s group began to set up camp and Zane stepped away to train.
For training, Zane switched between swinging different weapons in the air. He was trying to recall how he felt when he decapitated the demonic beast he fought. Zane entered meditation at the end of the battle and engraved the battle in his mind. However, Zane and the other ran for hours without stopping and Zane was struggling to recall everything now that they stopped.
Remembering the physical movements was easy. Zane could easily recall the muscles he used, the amount of power he applied and all the other minor details. What he struggled to recall was the way his energy moved during the attack. He did his best to recall how he was able to use his stamina, but the feeling became blurrier the more he tried remembering.
Eventually, Zane gave up on trying to recall how he used his stamina. He realized that he would only make meaningful improvements during combat and trying to master stamina usage right now was a waste of time. Instead, Zane decided to sit and focus on his meditation art. He wanted to increase his proficiency, but his main goal was to upgrade the grade and possibly the tier of the technique.

An hour after Zane began meditating, he received a system message. The system told him that his source was unlocked. Immediately, Zane looked at his personal information to see the changes in his status and stats.

The first thing Zane focused on was his stats. In order, the three numbers showed his normal stats, his stats after the World Suppression debuff and the bonuses he got from the equipment he was currently wearing. Next, Zane looked at the changes to his recovery speed. Finally, Zane looked at his source and the areas on his page connected to his source.
Zane was surprised by the changes his source brought to the World Suppression debuff, but he expected that his source would affect the Mana Deficiency debuff. His source was connected to his three core energies. Health, Stamina and Mana. Therefore, it made sense that his recovery would improve after his source recovered. However, Zane had no idea why his source decreased the negative effects of the World Suppression debuff.
Now that Zane unlocked his source, it was time for him to grant Star the adventurer title. Zane had plenty of time to rethink his decision and interact with Star while he was running. He confirmed that his decision was hasty, but it wasn’t wrong. After hours of thinking, Zane didn’t come up with a good reason to not give Star access to the system. Plus, he already said he would do it and Zane always thought integrity was important.
“Star.” Zane called out to the mage and woke her up from her meditation. “I’ve recovered, so if you’re ready we can begin.”
Star was confused at first, but it didn’t take her long to understand what Zane was talking about. She was excited and nervous as she walked toward Zane. When she spoke to Zane, she grabbed the attention of the other members in her group.
“Are, are you sure you’re ready? If you need more time I can wait.”
“I still don’t know if this is a good idea.” Blake and the other followed Star to where Zane was sitting. “I’m not doubting your character, but we don’t know if something bad will happen. The system could be helpful to you, but harmful to star.”
“I never thought of that,” Zane replied. “I don’t think you have anything to worry about though. She won’t be the first human from another world to accept the system. Now, sit in front of me and we can begin.”
Immediately after Star sat on the ground, Zane mentally tried to grant her the system. They both saw the system messages appear in front of them again and Zane chose yes when the system told him he would have to use his source. The moment he chose yes, Zane felt like a core part of himself was being drained.
Closing his eyes, Zane did his best to sense what was going on in his body. He sensed his source that was located by his sternum flowing out of his body and into Star’s body. The process was invisible and no one beside Zane and Star was able to sense anything. Zane didn’t know how Star was being affected by the process, but he was completely entranced.
Finally, Zane was able to get a strong sense of his source. The only time he truly interacted with his source was when he went through his first upgrade. Since then, Zane was barely able to sense his source and he was unable to influence it.
Now, Zane was given an opportunity to improve his ability to sense his source and influence. Zane was eager to try to manipulate his source, but he didn’t attempt to do so recklessly. He focused on trying to increase and decrease the speed or quantity of his source energy flowing toward Star.
Unfortunately, Zane was unsuccessful. His source energy continued to flow at the same rate regardless of how much of his will he applied. Eventually, the process ended leaving Zane disappointed and tired.
You have granted someone the adventurer title and given them access to the system. Please provide them with basic guidance so they can quickly adjust to the system. It is recommended that you do not grant someone else the adventurer title until one day has passed.
Zane had no problem following the systems recommendation. He felt exhausted and a quick glance at his status showed he was down more than eighty points in his source energy. It was worse than losing the same percentage of energy in his mana stamina or health.
Although Zane felt tired and disappointed, he was still grateful for the opportunity the system gave him. He wasn’t able to achieve any progress with controlling his source energy, but he knew he would have multiple opportunities to try again over the next few days. Zane still didn’t know why his source energy was needed, but he wasn’t going to complain since he was benefiting from the situation.
“Is that it?? Are we done?” Star asked a few seconds later.
“Yes,” Zane replied after he used Identify on Star.

“So, now I choose my class, right?”
“Yes, but let me take a look at your status first.”
Blake frowned but didn’t say anything else. Zane gave the group information about the system and told them they shouldn’t share their status with anyone. At that time Zane asked Star to share her status with him after she accepted the system. She agreed because Zane explained that she would grow past the initial information she showed him and because she hoped Zane would continue to give her advice.
Zane would continue to give her advice even if she didn’t show him her status, but he didn’t tell her that. He received some information about their world and his curiosity wanted, no, needed to confirm that information by looking at the status of Star or someone born on Kaleem. After a brief explanation, Star was able to share her status with Zane and he examined it with hungry eyes.

“You really use mental energy.” Zane was shocked.
Star told Zane that she learned how to cast spell by connecting her mental energy with the mana in her surroundings. At first Zane thought mental energy was the same as mana, but Star told him they were two different energies. Now, he was able to confirm that she was telling the truth.
Zane’s mind exploded as he tried to grasp the new information received. He had a ton of questions, but he knew that none of the people in front of him could give him answers. One of which was why Star had a source field despite not having any source energy. Zane thought it might be because of the source energy he provided her, but that didn’t make sense based on his current understanding of how source energy worked.
“Does she get her class now?” Blake asked after a few minutes passed without a response from Zane.
“Huh, oh yeah, sure. Focus on your desire to choose a class. I suggest you choose mage since that is what you are already use to. Also, if you are given the opportunity to give up your current strength and restart your path from the beginning, you should accept it.” Zane immediately went back to his own thoughts after saying those words, but he was interrupted by Star’s voice.
“It says I don’t have sufficient mana in my surroundings.”
Slightly annoyed, Zane quickly took out some mana stones from his space bag and tossed them toward star. The groups three mages immediately stared at the mana stones with greedy eyes the moment they appeared. A mana stone was a small blue rock that contained mana. The mana stones Zane tossed away had a dark blue line rapped around them, which symbolized they were tier one mana stones.
“These should be enough for choosing a tier one class. Oh, and don’t forget to upgrade your race when you go to the unique space. A large number of your stats come from your race.”
Star nodded in understanding before she closed her eyes. Zane watched her for a few seconds to make sure nothing was going wrong. With his work complete Zane closed his own eyes and continued trying to answer the many questions he had.
“Hey, can I ask a question?” One of the women in the group asked.
Zane let out a groan of frustration in response.
