Currently, Zane was sitting on a bed, in a guest room, practicing his meditation art. The room was provided by the town leader, Star’s father. The room was well furnished with a bathroom connected to it.
After Zane and the others passed through the town walls Star’s father stepped forward to greet them. He hugged his daughter, thanked Zane and the others for their help, and talked with them for a few minutes before arranging a place for them to rest. They were provided with food and drinks alongside a room to sleep him.
Zane chose not to sleep or eat. He used Analyze on the food and saw that there was nothing wrong with it. However, he still chose to eat his own food and store away the food he was given. Instead of sleeping in the unfamiliar environment, Zane chose to switch between practicing his meditation art and using Meditation skill to recover his energy.
Practicing his meditation art became easier for Zane as his comprehension stat improved. Zane was able to obtain a lot more proficiency on the art and he gained two levels in the meditation art since he came to Kaleem. The more Zane practiced the more familiar he was with his meditation art. The more familiar he was with it the easier it would be to improve it.
Stamina and mana were lost as Zane sat and practiced his meditation technique. Although Zane would be able to gain more proficiency if he were to move around, his increase in familiarity with his meditation art made the increase in proficiency negligible. Zane meditated on the different way he used martial weapons, the unique purpose that martial weapons had, their natural traits and more.
Meditating on martial weapons allowed Zane to increase his proficiency, but the same could not be said for magic weapons. When Zane focused on magic weapons the rate at which his proficiency increased dropped significantly. The drop didn’t make Zane discouraged. Instead, it provided him with a clear direction on how he could improve his technique.
First, he would focus on martial weapons. Then he would focus on magic weapons. Switching between the two types of weapons would give Zane insight into his meditation art. He focused on understanding the changes that would occur and he slowly understood how he could improve his meditation art.
Congratulations! You have reached level twenty-one in the Martial Weapon Art.
Opening his eyes Zane decided it was time to take a break. He was happy with the improvements he made so far, and he knew it was important to take time to rest. However, after he stopped focusing on his meditation art, Zane began to start worrying over the quest he accepted.
You have accepted the Expert Martial Weapon Mastery class quest.
Quest: Expert Martial Weapon Mastery
Description: You have reached a threshold in understanding the Expert Martial Weapon Mastery skill. To continue improving your understanding of the skill challenge ten people that are at least experts in a specific weapon to a duel. Each weapon must be different, but they don’t have to be from different fields. Once a weapon is chosen it cannot be changed.
Quest Objective: Duels Won: 0/10, Weapon 1-10: Not chosen
Quest Reward: 100,000 experience points, 100 class points
Quest Failure: After choosing a weapon, a loss of three duels while using the weapon counts as a failure of this quest.
Quest Penalty: Unable to improve the Expert Martial Weapon Mastery skill for one year. After a year you must reaccept the quest to continue improving the Expert Martial Weapon Mastery skill.
Refusing the quest was not possible. An individual received a quest for their tier one skills when their skills reached level forty-nine and level ninety-nine. Refusal meant it would be impossible to continue leveling up the skill.

When Zane absorbed the information relayed for the quest, he began to feel worried and started to doubt his decision to come to Kaleem. He understood that the people born on Kaleem were weaker than the people born under the system. Zane worried that it would be difficult to find opponents that reached the experience level required by the system.
Of course, there was a difference between finding an opponent that met the requirements and finding an opponent that could challenge him. A duel was a formal battle governed by the system which allows two individuals to battle under a clear set of rules and limitations. A duel could be to the death, first blood or any other rule that the combatants agree to. Also, Zane was able to limit his and his opponent’s strength to certain levels. This meant that Zane could challenge anyone regardless of their tier.
The person being challenged didn’t have to agree to the duel. However, the system would offer the challenged person rewards for accepting the duel and the challenger can offer incentives for the challenged to agree as well. It wasn’t guaranteed that Zane would find a person above his tier willing to duel him, but his chances were much greater on his world than they were on Kaleem.
Even if Zane found a capable expert on Kaleem he may not be able to duel them because they didn’t have the system. The obvious answer was that he would grant them the system and the problem would be solved. However, there was no guarantee that the person he chose would be willing to accept the system. Zane remembered how Star and the others were hesitant to accept the system because they were afraid of corruption. Zane was sure it would have taken him a lot more effort to convince them if they weren’t worried about helping their town.
As Zane thought about the problems he had with his quest, he started to remember the other difficulties he had with his class skills. Normally, a person obtained a random new skill from the system every ten levels in the first tier. However, the same wasn’t true for Zane since he created a new class.
Shaking his head Zane decided to stop dwelling on the negative. Instead, he would leave his room and explore the town. Although Zane was disappointed with the level of combat ability the world showed him so far, the system did say that the world should provide him with unique experiences helpful to his path. So, it was time for him to go look for them.
Stepping out of his room, Zane saw a man standing to the left of his door. The man had fair skinned and light brown hair. He was wearing a black silk shirt with sleeves that covered his hands and black silk pants.
“Greetings young sir, I hope you had a nice rest. My name is Jeff, and I was assigned to attend to you while you remain a guest here.” Jeff gave Zane a bow and Zane gave him a small bow in return. Zane never had an attendant, but he was familiar with the concept and knew what he should expect.
“Were you told about my origins?”
“Yes, the lord has already made me aware that you are from another world. Is there anything I can help you with young sir?”
“You can call me Zane.” Zane took a few seconds to think about his next words before he continued to speak. “The reason I came to this world is to explore and learn. I wanted to ask if you could give me a tour of the town and some general knowledge about how the world works?”
“It would be my honor young sir. Please follow me and ask me any questions that come to your mind.”
Zane was led through a few stone hallways and down a few stone staircases before they left the town lord’s home. The building was surrounded by stone walls that were slightly less tall than the wall surrounding the town. The yard had several small gardens where flowers bloomed and sensible walkways for people to get through.
Jeff began giving Zane an introduction to the town after they passed through the tall metal gates. He started with the history of how the town came to be. He mentioned some important people, the contributions they made and important events that were connected to the town.
At first Zane was able to patiently listen to Jeff talk about the town in great detail. Zane was taught that all knowledge was connected and learning about a vast variety of topics would be helpful to his path. However, Zane felt the need to speak up when Jeff began talking about the artistry and architecture of the town.
“Jeff, what I’m most interested in is weapons. Can you tell me about the different types of weapons you know about?”
Jeff immediately started shaking his head. “Giving out information about the towns weapons can have a disastrous effect on the town’s security and safety.”
“I’m not asking about the town’s specific weapons. I’m asking about the general weapons used throughout the world.”
Jeff shot Zane a confused glance. “Aren’t you a warrior? Shouldn’t you already know this?”
“I wanted to know if there were any weapons different from the ones on my world.”
“I’m not an expert in the field of weapons. I only know the basic types of weapons and I have a shallow understanding of how they are used. If you want, we can head back to the lord’s home, and I can have some of the guards provide you with more information.”
Zane nodded and allowed Jeff to lead them back. Zane didn’t know if the guards could provide him the information he wanted, but it was better than getting no information at all. After all, it's not like Zane could head to the stadium to fight different types of warriors. The moment that thought entered Zane’s mind, his feet stopped moving and he immediately questioned Jeff.
“Do you have a place where a lot of warriors gather to fight?”
