The Aftermath

The following few days were very hectic for the rest of the city. The fire that Tianyu had started blazed through the entire day and the rest of the night before dying down enough to be extinguished, if it wasn't for the rain which started during the night it may have kept burning for a while longer.

The residents of the city were in the dark about what had happened. It wasn't until the law officers eventually showed up that some information had been released. There wasn't much information for them to go off, but it had seemed to the officers that the Qin Family may have offended somebody they shouldn't have, and the entire family was destroyed because of it. Nobody would have suspected that the cause of this was a teenage boy who had started his cultivation just over half a year back.

Even the other higher-tiered families in the area had no information to go on, but they had remembered the mysterious cultivator who had broken through not long ago. Because of this, they had remained quiet for fear of offending that mystery cultivator who was powerful enough to wipe out the entire Qin Family in a single afternoon.

During this time, Tianyu had been asleep. After his emotional outburst following his spiritual possession, he soon fainted and was brought back to the home of Mister Hao. Red Hare had of course followed him.

In these few days, Tianyu had been getting looked after by Madam Hao, who had always treated him with love and kindness, she had even washed out and treated Red Hare's wound before wrapping it in gauze.

Mister Hao was paying close attention to everything that had been going on and only started to relax a little after a couple of days when he saw that nobody had been following or paying attention to him and Tianyu.

Behind the scenes in the city, many families were in discussions over what had happened, but mainly, all of them wanted to know who would be filling the position of the Qin Family. All of them were greedy for power and would do anything in their power to grab onto it. Many of the families were making their own plans on how to find the cultivator responsible for the attack and lure him over to their side.

It took a full week for Tianyu to wake up from his injuries, both physical and spiritual. Not only was he on death's door after he had been stabbed by Zhao Ren, but on top of that, his soul weapon had forcibly taken over his body for an extended period of time. While this act did save his life and give him the revenge he wanted, it also caused a great deal of strain on his spirit which he wasn't able to handle at his current cultivation realm.

As he awoke, he was bombarded by both notifications from his system and questions from Madam Hao. She spent the next 30 minutes quizzing him about his body, how he felt, what hurts, how it hurts etc. While he was a little overwhelmed by this, he was also happy knowing how much Madam Hao cared and how worried she was about him, so he entertained each and every question she had to ask before she was satisfied.

He was still in quite a bit of pain but smiled so as to not make Madam Hao worry. "I'm okay, auntie. It's nothing that some rest and some of your amazing cooking can't fix." Tianyu would always flatter Madam Hao and Madam Hao would always love it when he did. With a chuckle, she endearingly called him a "Cheeky brat" and swatted his arm, before heading out of the room he was resting in.

He took this time to open up his system notifications and he was blinded by how many there were.

[You have gained ...]

[You have gained ...]

[You have gained ...]

[You have gained ...]

[You have gained ...]

[You have gained ...]

This list just went on and on.

"Sophia," he called out "Can you just summarize everything for me?"

[Yes, host.]

[You have gained 55,650 exp points]

[You have gained 1x gacha spin token]

[You have completed the hidden quest: Qin Tianyu's Revenge]

He was quite surprised over his gains this time, that was a ton of exp points all at once, and this was the first time he had heard about being on some kind of quest. He asked Sophia for more information about this quest.

[Qin Tianyu's Revenge: Qin Tianyu and his mother Qin Li Mei have been kicked out of the Qin Family, berated, embarrassed, and harassed. Fight against the overwhelming odds and complete your revenge by any means. Rewards will be given based on your method of achieving your revenge]

[Qin Tianyu's Revenge: Completed - You have chosen the path of blood and exterminated the Qin Family]

[Rewards]

[1x Token to raise your cultivation realm]

[10x mid-level training avatars]

[5x gacha spin tokens]

[20,000 exp points]

[1x randomized trait]

"Holy shit, those quest rewards are insane." he thought to himself.

Putting aside the token to raise his realm, he wasn't interested in using this right now. He would only use this in a desperate situation, or much much later down the line when the exp points required for raising his realm are insanely high.

Having 10 extra training avatars is an amazing reward. Truthfully, Tianyu plans on spending much of his now 75,000+ exp points on training avatars to make the most of his idle cultivation system which he feels like he has been overlooking thus far. His biggest advantage in this life over anyone else is his ability to passively cultivate.

Gacha spins are always nice to have, and a new trait is always welcomed too. However, he also wonders if he can receive bad traits as well as good ones. But he is going to save redeeming these rewards as well as spending his exp points a little later. What he needs to do now is join his family at the Flying Sword Sect, and settle matters with Old Man Cheng.

After a couple more days of recouping, it's time to hit the road. "Auntie, Uncle, why don't you come with me?" Tianyu asked. At first, they both said no, stating that they were too old and that they would just slow him down. But Tianyu wasn't interested in taking no for an answer. There were very few people whom he thought of as family and Mister and Madam Hao were on that short list. It took a little more convincing, but they both finally agreed to join him. Truthfully they would miss Tianyu and Li Mei also.

Tianyu was happy they had agreed. He loved them both as family, and he also knew that there was much more to them than he knew, and he wanted to learn from Mister Hao. Just the little he had learned from him so far was enough to tell him that before Mister Hao had abandoned his own cultivation, he was strong.

It took another day for them to all be ready to leave. Mister Hao had a carriage already due to his work, which was large enough to load up the belongings they planned on taking with enough room for Madam Hao to rest inside comfortably, Tianyu and Mister Hao used the bench up front. Red Hare had recovered enough for the journey, and although she was unhappy about having to pull a carriage, after all, she was born and bred for the battlefield, she still listened to Tianyu.

With that, they all set off towards the mountains where the Flying Sword Sect is located. Tianyu was looking forward to starting this next stage in his life. He would make the most of what this sect had to offer him. After his fight with the Qin Family, and seeing how Lu Bu had fought, there was much he had to improve on, and with the aid of his Idle Cultivation System, and the Flying Sword Sect, he was sure he would succeed.
