Tianyu's eyes widened in surprise. "I can get exp points from Xiao Lei?"
With this revelation in mind, he decided to utilize this newfound source of experience points. After Xiao Lei finished his meal, Tianyu mentally commanded him to catch another rabbit, but this time not to eat it, only to bring it back.
Xiao Lei, as fast as lightning, soared through the air. He swiftly dove down, grabbed another rabbit, and flew back to Tianyu. In one fluid motion, he exerted pressure with his talons and snapped the rabbit's neck.
[Your pet beast has killed 1x Rabbit. Gained exp point x1,] echoed the notification.
Tianyu raised an eyebrow, slightly disappointed. "Only 1 exp point?" he thought. "Perhaps there's a difference in rank between a normal rabbit and a white rabbit?"
Nonetheless, he saw the potential in this. There was another source of exp points, and he could exploit it.
Tianyu issued another mental command to Xiao Lei, instructing him to catch two more rabbits. His plan was to bring them home, skin them, and have a more substantial meal for himself and his mother.
Satisfied with the plan, he sat by the water's edge, gazing at the tranquil lake. The rippling surface of the water was hypnotic, and he couldn't help but be mesmerized.
He had lost track of time, but Xiao Lei had long since returned with the requested rabbits. They lay lifeless beside Tianyu, waiting to be prepared for dinner.
Out of the blue, a sudden thud disrupted the peaceful scene, causing Tianyu to grunt in pain as a stone struck his back. Laughter, vicious and mocking, shattered the serenity of the lake.
"If it isn't that trash of the Qin family!" a nasally voice jeered, followed by more laughter from behind Tianyu.
As he turned around he knew exactly who this was. Fu Meng was once one of Tianyu's friends. They had known each other since they were very young. Fu Meng was getting bullied by some older kids who were making fun of him due to his abnormally large nose. Tianyu seeing this decided to step in - as Tianyu was from the Qin family, the older kids knew that they couldn't offend the Qin Family, and soon ran off. After this, Fu Meng started to follow Tianyu around everywhere.
The Fu family's reputation had risen thanks to their association with the Qin family. Before this, they were a low-class family. Other families tried to suck up to the Fu family just so they could get in with the Qin family. Soon, the Fu family rose to be a middle-tier family, however, this was still nowhere even remotely close to the power that the Qin family possessed.
It wasn't long after this that the Fu family started to throw their weight around and step on the lower-tier families which raised them to the level they are now.
Tianyu didn't know any of this at the time as he was still very young. He was just busy trying to learn martial and scholarly arts, as there was a certain expectation of him as being a part of the main Qin family.

The whole time, Fu Meng was clinging to Tianyu's leg during these years. He always tried to flatter Tianyu, do things for him, and clean up after him, he even went as far as to keep Tianyu's slippers in his robe so they would stay warm for when Tianyu wanted to go out.
However, after Tianyu and his mother were cast out, the Fu family began to use their newfound influence to torment them. Any attempts by Qin Li Mei to make a living were thwarted by the Fu family.
If it wasn't for the stipend that was sent to them by the Qin family, which was barely enough to keep them alive, they would have been resorting to begging on the streets, or even worse for a pretty woman like Qin Li Mei.
Despite their hatred for accepting money from the Qin family, they had no choice but to rely on the stipend sent to them. Although they had been kicked out of the family, Qin Tianyu was still the firstborn son of Qin Zhao Ren. If he were to be begging on the streets this would still bring shame to the Qin family and could affect their reputation.
Tianyu rarely left their home because of situations like this. While the house was owned by the Qin family and thus off-limits to the Fu family, once outside, Tianyu and his mother were fair game.
Fu Meng's relentless insults and taunts only fueled Tianyu's anger. However, he knew that there was little he could do. If it were just Fu Meng, he could fight back, as Fu Meng had no martial skills and was a coward. But now, Fu Meng had a guard assigned to protect him outside their home, a guard who knew martial arts and carried a weapon. Most people hesitated to confront Fu Meng because of this.
He decided to leave the situation and picked up the rabbits.
With a smug grin, Fu Meng continued to berate him, hurling insults about his poverty and abandonment by his family. Unfortunately for Fu Meng, the Qin Tianyu of today wasn't the same as the Qin Tianyu of a week ago. And none of these insults had much of an effect. Qin Tianyu used to work in a call center for 12 hours per day. He was so used to getting berated and shouted at that this was just another common occurrence for him.
Leisurely walking by, not phased by Fu Meng's assault in the slightest, this really seemed to anger Fu Meng. It was at this point, Fu Meng got an evil glint in his eye.
"Tell your bitch of a mother that if she ever wants to earn some money, she can crawl on all fours to my bed, and I'll make her squeal like the pig she is!" Fu Meng shouted, his voice dripping with malice.
Tianyu's blood boiled, and he turned back to face Fu Meng, who was laughing. At that moment, Tianyu couldn't take it anymore. Despite the pain in his body, the public setting, and the consequences he might face, he acted on his anger.
"Stop!" Fu Meng yelled at Tianyu. "What are you doing? Stop him!" he called to his guard.
The guard, initially dismissive of the situation, stepped between Tianyu and Fu Meng, ready to draw his sword. He never expected what happened next.
As Tianyu got close enough, he summoned his Sky Piercer from his system space. This caused the guard's eyes to shrink and caught him off guard.
Following exactly what he had learned the previous day, he dropped the butt of the halberd to his hip, pushed off with his back foot, lifted his arms, and stabbed forwards.
Tianyu hit his target.
The spear tip of his halberd was thrust into the guard's throat and through the other side. As Tianyu pulled the blade out, the guard still with a shocked look on his face, clutched his neck and fell to the floor.
[You have killed 1x Grade 3 Martial Artist. Gained exp points x100.]
Fu Meng, now terrified, tried to flee, but there was no way Tianyu could catch him in his current condition. However, he had a companion who could.
"Xiao Lei, stop him for me!" Tianyu shouted.
With a screech, Xiao Lei dived from the sky at lightning speed, heading straight for Fu Meng. His talons extended toward Fu Meng's face, knocking him to the ground.
As Tianyu approached, he noticed something gruesome. Xiao Lei, apparently still hungry after the rabbit, had pecked out Fu Meng's eyes.
Tianyu, filled with anger but no longer willing to kill Fu Meng, rolled him onto his back and sat on his chest. He shouted at Fu Meng, "Stop screaming!"
Fu Meng, terrified and in pain, complied, his whimpers the only sound now.
"That's better, isn't it?" Tianyu said with a smile. "You know that you brought this on yourself."
Leaning in closer, he whispered in Fu Meng's ear, "The punishment for looking at my mother was your eyes."
Fu Meng whimpered, tears of blood streaming down his face.
"The punishment for your words is your tongue," Tianyu continued, not raising his voice above a calm tone. He pulled on Fu Meng's tongue and, with the crescent blade of his halberd, cut it off.
Fu Meng screamed in agony once more.
"Now, I don't like this next part, but a punishment has to be paid for lusting after my mother too," Tianyu sighed. "Let's get this over with."
Fu Meng's face contorted in shock and horror as he realized what Tianyu meant.
With a single swing of his blade, Tianyu performed the final act of vengeance. Fu Meng was left a eunuch.
Whispering in Fu Meng's ear again, Tianyu warned, "Now, you know what will happen if you even think about my mother again with that little brain of yours, right?"
Fu Meng couldn't even reply if he wanted to.
Tianyu stood up, dusted himself off, and began his journey home, not caring whether Fu Meng lived or died. He picked up the rabbits on his way.
"I'm sure Mother will love having some rabbit for dinner," Tianyu said to Xiao Lei, who screeched in response and soared high into the sky.
