V1-Chapter 9

Chapter 9

After knowing how to increase my skill, and all those information regarding this new updates in this world, I went back to that {Goblin} nest, once nest, and started digging for more resources that I could find, while also trying if I could make another skill to use.

...

4 hours of digging in that nest, I was able to garner a lump amount of minerals there. If last time it took me almost 4 hours to gather 3 18 inches, 2 21 inches, and few 14 inches [Lapis Volans], with 5 light colored and some dark colored [Lapis Celeritatis], this time? This time I gathered 3 times the amount, with few additional ones, 7 25 inches. Thanks to my skill, I was able to exert more force, and the workload became more easier.

Not just did I gain such minerals, I also dug some [Blood Stone], 3 to be exact, which is an ore that is found underneath an island, or dungeons, where dozens upon dozens of dead corpses laid, or where slain. Their blood will compact, molding into an ore shape.

This Ore is used, or normally used, to upgrade your weapons or equipment, artifacts included. They can boost the grade of the material, making it more powerful than before. Though the downgrade on it, is it takes days or weeks just to finish upgrading such material using a [Blood Gem], and only the masters among the smiths could do so, which is why forging your weapon with such ore, takes tons of time and money.

But this beg the question

"How come there's a [Blood Gem] in this nest? In a {Goblin's} nest?"

Finding one would be rare, but not uncommon, but getting 3 at once? Especially in a nest where a low tier monster lives? That's indeed questionable. Though I am struck with such questions, knowing I have no answer on it, I just leave it to my luck for finding them.

After I got out from the nest, I then, though it's still quite early, took my lunch next to my boat. A [Boiled Potatoes and Grilled Boar Meat] was my lunch today. I don't have any Sweet Potatoes on me, but if I store a Potato underneath for a week, it will produce itself some sugary content, making it sweeter. So either I will boil them or roast, my palette will be a quite extravagant. While the Grills I have is made from an old Iron Sword, that I cut into thin pieces using an Iron Chisel and Hammer, which took me a whole day to finish.

Eating at the edge of the island, while gazing the scenery of this floating world, with a cool breeze of the wind, and the shining ray of sun, is amazing.

.....

After having a fill on my meal, I then postponed the excavation in the nest as I planned to transverse the whole island once again. I might have killed one of the strongest monster in this island, but the threat of another wasn't yet solved. Even how much time I stayed in this island, no clues, no prints, neither sightseeing of any {Wolf} in this island could be seen, which is more threatening than the {Bear} itself.

Holding my spear in hand, I then explored the island once again.

.....

2 hours of exploring the northeast and northwest, I couldn't find anything strange in the vicinity.

"If I remember correctly, {Wolf} doesn't even have anything in their arsenal that will make them teleport. This island is quite far from the others too, so hearing a monsters howls from another island will be impossible, so how, really?"

.....

After finding nothing in the west and east in the north side, I went back to the nest, after collecting some fruits and flowers along the journey, and started digging back again for 1 hour, which I gained 7 18 inches [Lapis Volans], and 9 medium light [Lapis Celeritatis]. I then went back to my home.

As I still have time in my hand, I will use it to gain another skill, [Appraisal], which will help me see each things, may it living or not, status information. Though it is quite common, [Appraisal] can easily determine what's edible and not, and what's poisonous and venomous, so I really badly needed it.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

[The Theory of Skill Creation] book, which I read last night, gives me the information about the most basic, and common type of skill, and how to obtain them also, and one of them is [Appraisal]. To gain one, you just need to collect different materials, and study them, simple. For example, cut the Mushroom in half, see what kind of Mushroom it is, what is its shape, color, texture, and taste, those are the things you needed to learn, and get from that said Mushroom, for you to be able to aquire [Appraisal]

1. [Collect and study a variety of rocks, ores, and minerals:(check)]

2. [Collect and study a variety of flowers, and fruits:]

3. [Collect and study the part of a tree:]

4. [Collect and study different types of meat and vegetables:(check)]

I already done the 1st part and 4th part, which I'm already doing every day, which leaves me with number 2 and 3.

.....

Ping

[You have gained a skill [Appraisal]

After 2 hours of painstakingly studying, I was able to acquire [Appraisal]. It wasn't written how many, or how much part and types, should I collect and study, so I went all out. I collected 10 roots of the tree near the Well, which is below my knee's height, 20 leaves, 15 branches, 20 dead barks, and examined the inside of it, namely the live bark, sapwood, heartwood, and pith.

As for the flowers and fruits, I collected 20 flowers, and 10 each of the fruits.

"So it's called Enchanted Willow ha- and it has skills too!"

I was truly surprised that eating a tree will give me some free skills.

"So I guess I have more reason to take care of this one"

I am really grateful that I didn't waste ay time to acquire [Appraisal]. Think of all the possibilities I could get if I were to find some fruits, or something edible, and it has a skills on it, it will be a jackpot.

<> [Cabbage]

[Description: A green leafy crop that is commonly used for cooking. It's leaves can be used for medical purposes using [Alchie Craft]

<> [Onion]

[Description: A root - stem crop, with bulb oval shape, that is used for seasoning]

<> [Garlic]

[Description: A root crop, with spherical cluster buds, that is used for seasoning]

Well I can't deny that I looked at each crop I planted, just to see if some of them have skills, which they didn't have. But I am already happy for the result of getting [Appraisal] anyway. So after getting [Appraisal], I was thinking of getting a [Class], which will be a good time to get one, and I am thinking of acquiring the [Blacksmith Class].

Acquiring an equipment, weapon, or artifact, either could be bought, found inside a dungeon, or crafted by a Smith, which will cost each your life and money. High risk high reward as they say. And if I have acquired the [Blacksmith Class], I could make, or craft my very own item, and upgrade them also, plus, I could sell them too, which is 3 birds in 1 stone.

Additionally, in the book [The Theory of Skill Creation], it was written that 1 person could own 2 classes, only if your 1st class is a common class, but if you choose, or receive a high class, then you can't have another. So imagine if I have the smithing class, think about the possibility of something else that could be a perfect combo to it, that will definitely amazing.

"So question is, what class could it be?"

Thinking through it, I can't really decide yet, so for now, I will try to get the [Blacksmith Class] as soon as possible

1. [Obtain 100 minerals: (check)]

2. [Obtain 30 ores:]

3. [Smelt 10 ores:]

4. [Craft any materials using wood: (check)]

5. [Craft any materials using stone:]

6. [Repair any weapon: (check)]

[Buying, or contracting anyone to do this on your behalf, won't be counted]

But I think it will take more than "soon" to finish this

Sigh
