Chapter 20

<> 24 request is needed to rank up
<> Current request finish [0/ 24]
"So basically, we can rank up by completing this request, through Quests in the [Adventurer's Guild]?" (Tsu)
"But we can still increase our strength without doing it anyway, so for what reason then?" (Sar)
".... Appearances perhaps? Unlike those people here, we, the people from the other world, can see this [STR], [INT] and etc in our status, and the requirements for each [Classes] too, so in this regard, we have the advantages towards them, as we can see which potential can we flourish"
Kanade stated as they sat down at the old bell tower, which is quite battered and almost falling.
"Though it will be for the sake of appearances, but having a higher rank gives you more benefits than what you can think of, so we should consider enlisting ourselves to become adventurers"
The benefits Elizabeth is stating are the special privilege of the adventurers when they visit Islands after islands, ranks that will give you boost both in fame and status, then the bonuses of being connected, or having the support from a nobles, high class individuals, or those who are aligned by a strong household, and lastly, the most important part of being an adventurer is
"We can get stronger, wealthier, and free, so I think being adventurer won't be a waste of time for us"
"Elizabeth is right, we should at least used this 2nd life of ours to our heart content" (Tsu)
"..... I guess that settled, adventurers is it then. So when should we start registering?" (Kan)
"Tomorrow should be good, I wanted to try getting my hands to [Magic Proficiency] skill, and other spells too before we start traveling"
"Now that you mentioned that, I wanted to acquire [Summon Golem] also, so we can at least have some helpers and backup during our Quest, or when we are adventuring" (Tsu)
Staring above the sky, Elizabeth then stated
"We still have some time, I'll try practicing on acquiring [Magic Proficiency], the others can do whatever you want, as long we can get back before night"
Agreeing, the 4 then climbed down the old bell tower.
.....
(Elizabeth's POV)
Yesterday, after I have acquired [Fire Blast], a much better version than [Fire Ball], I was thinking about getting my hands on [Magic Proficiency], to give additional magic power to my spells when they hit. I will then upgrade it to [Spell Mastery], then finally to [Hand's of the Magician] which gives me +5% magic damage to spell that hits its target.

[Magic Proficiency] +1% < [Spell Mastery] +3% < [Hand's of the Magician] +5%

This is thanks to Kanade's [String of Puppetry], which let her talk to the deceased one. And with the abundance of corpses being buried here, we were able to garner a lot of information regarding this world, 165 years later after our death. And the changes that happened weren't few, or simple.
Another thing to remember is that, the older the corpses is, the less information we have. To gather some fruitful information, we need a corpse that is still intact, like it was freshly died, or yet to be rotten, and if the body is all bones now, but only a few missing parts were gone, that would still give us some data.
So with those knowledge, we were able to access some information on how to acquire specific skills and spells, but only those things that those people know, of course. And to gain the skill [Magic Proficiency], I just need to keep using any spells I have, and hit any target for quite some time, while maintaining the same destructiveness, simple.
And using the old structure of this city
"[Fire Blast]!"
Boom!
I have unlimited number of targets to use
"[Fire Blast]!"
Bang!
.....
(Sarah's POV)
"Hahh..... Hah.... Haah..... Hah....."
Gasping my breath as I continuedly run, though slow, in this crumbling building, which was once used as an Inn.
Ping!
[You have gained the skill [Shadow Dash]
"Heh... Yesh.....!"
Celebrating, I then stop and slump down as I lean my body to this battered walls, and tried calming my breath.
"Haah..... Haaa... Hah....."
To gain [Shadow Dash], I just need to keep running at the shades of this old infrastructure, continuously, until I gain the said skill. Unlike [Appraisal], you can't see what are the requirements of the said skill to gain them, so it's quite hard to know what is this "specific time" or "for quite some time".
Afterwards, when I calmed down, I then checked my status

.....
(Tsubaki's POV)
While my sister, Elizabeth, is trying to get her hands on [Magic Proficiency], I'm trying to acquire [Summon Golem], which just needs you to draw the magic circle for summoning one, and a drop of blood from the summoner, then chant the specific incantation, and keep trying until you can summon one.
Using my sharp nails, I cut my left hand's palm. The blood drawn from my hand, were then used to engrave the magic circle. A hexagonal star was drawn at the center of 3 circles, with a *portrait infinite rune at the center without intersection.
After I have drawn the magic circle, I then drop a blood, my blood, at the center, and started chanting
If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
"Thou lump of carnage and fury, loyalty and honor. Thou chunk of stone and dirt, blood and flesh, I asked, I called. Thee from within the eternal and death, I summoned from blood I offer, come forth!"
"....."
Seeing nothing happened, and with the magic circle dissappearing, I then redraw it from scratch, and do over again.
(Author's POV)
After redrawing the magic cirlce
"Thou lump of carnage and fury, loyalty and honor. Thou chunk of stone and dirt, blood and flesh, I asked, I called"
She then drop a blood from her hand while continuing the chant
"Thee from within the eternal and death, I summoned from blood I offer, come forth!"
"..."
Yet nothing happened, it was merely silent. After the magic circle disappeared, she then just nonchalantly redraw it once again. Afterwards, she then tried it again once more, and this time
"Thou lump of carnage and fury, loyalty and honor. Thou chunk of stone and dirt, blood and flesh, I asked, I called. Thee from within the eternal and death, I summoned from blood I offer, come forth!"
She then drop a blood from her hand, and
Swoosh!
The magic circle then glows a shiny golden coat. Surprised, Tsubaki stood up as she watched. Different Runes then appeared in the circles that surrounds the hexagonal star, and within the center of it
"!"
A hand made from stone and dirt then suddenly emerged, crawled itself out
Thud!
And stood.
Gaaaahh!
And roared as it rised.
(Tsubaki's POV)
"... Cool"
Maybe 2 and a Half meters in length, this Golem I summoned was astonishing. A small head with a huge body and arm, yet quite long thinner legs, with the same rune at the center of its chest, it's look like a Gorilla. There's like 10 different chant to summon a Golem, it differs from race and efficiency. I tried summoning one using the human incantation, using 3 different way; placing the offering before the chant, placing the offering during the chant, and placing the offering after the chant. If none of them works, I'll try the other chant to summon a Golem, until I succeed
"Now I just need to summon 3 of them, then I'm done"
I spoke, as I started cutting my left palm once more
.....
(Kanade's POV)

[Race: Undead]<
"So I can only use 1, while having 10% of my stats? That's .....not bad, I guess?"
I stated, though a bit, well, dismay about this outcome. The requirements of getting [Marionette] is simple and easy, I just need to used [String Puppetry] to any corpses that are laying underneath, or in the ground, and just let them move to whatever I want them to do, and with the abundance here, it wasn't a hassle.
It occurred to me to obtain it after Tsubaki wanted to acquire [Summon Golem]. So if the 2 of us can have a familiar within our group, our adventuring days won't be a problem, and fighting monster will be much easier
.....
After I have done with my preparation, I then went back to our home base, which is the prison cell, to discuss something to them before we will left this place.
(Author's POV)
The day is almost over, the sun is about to set, as Kanade arrived back to their home, right after visiting places after places inside the city, and even the outside area, she then
"... What's all this?"
Asked in confusion and surprised, as she saw a ton of ores laying down in their home. Iron, Silver, and even some Gold, it wasn't by 4 nor 6, but by dozens of each. Tsubaki, wearing a smug look on her face, then went towards her confused sister, lean her right arm to Kanade's right shoulder, and boastfully stated
"Why not take a look to my special friend here, sister"
Saying that as she pointed to the {Stone Golem}. Curious, Kanade then appraise the said golem and

"..... That's-"
"Mediocre right? I know"
".... I think your familiars are more 'we are strong in a pack' kind of thing, maybe?"
"I doubt that sister... But maybe I guess"
Kanade nonchalantly replied Elizabeth's words. Brushing the subject away, Kanade then ask
"I was about to suggest that we should postpone our travel tomorrow to gather some resources, but it seems I don't need to"
"Well, after I have summoned and appraised them, I then hurriedly went back to our home, and gather all those pickaxes that we found in those dead bodies that are still usable, and let them dig to find some ore, and boom, they gathered 14 [Gold Ores], 10 [Silver Ores], and 15 [Iron Ores]"
"If we sell them, we can gain 2 big gold, 92 gold, and 30 silver coins"
Sarah spoke, giving option
"... How about turning them into weapons and equipments then?"
"We can, but only the [Silver Ore] could be made into a decent one, with the [Gold Ore] as an accessory. Other than that, I could say that it's much better to sell them, and buy the necessary equipments we need" (Eli)
"I see..... Let us just set it aside for now, maybe we can find something that could boost those ores quality in our way"
"... I agree" (tsu)
"Then that settled, I really wish we can find some [Storage Ring] here among the loots, but I guess it wasn't that easy"

Upon hearing those far cry of monsters, the 4 then silently looked at each other.

The door was then closed, keeping them safe and away from those dreaded monsters

In chapter 7, I changed 100 request to 27 with pierce strike dealing 2% dmg, while in chapter 8, I changed the year where the 1st summoning circle being discovered to 70 years from past. After much observation and whatnot, I discovered it was bs.
*Stan, which translates to 'stone'. It is the shape of two Pertho runes put together, or alternatively, an upside-down and rightside-up Ehwaz superimposed on one another.
As I can't find anything regarding the Runes meaning, so in this novel, it will be the symbol for summoning a stone golem, or any rock or stone related monsters.
