Violet and Scripture Pavillion 1.9

I gathered my notes, feeling a bit exhausted from the lengthy lecture. I went plus ultra, trying to fill in the gaps in my knowledge.

After all, the information in the game was limited. In the game, cultivation was as simple as going to one's house or a training room and automatically starting the process. A notification would pop up, indicating the progress with 'Qi +1, Qi +1', and the character in the game would advance in cultivation.

But the reality was far different. Understanding crucial concepts such as qi veins and meridians were imperative for success in cultivation. One had to know the proper path for qi circulation or risk suffering from Qi deviation.

In the game, Qi deviation was just a result of a sudden critical failure. But in reality, it was caused by improper cultivation or distractions during the process.

This was why I hesitated to start cultivating when I first arrived in this world. My mental state was not in a good place, and I didn't want to risk causing Qi deviation.

I inwardly nodded in approval of my wise decision not to cultivate.

I stood up from my cushion and glanced around the room. The people around me were in a state of half-sleep, their minds caught between reality and dreams.

Ha amateurs~

Being able to sit in a long lecture was a skill that every student cultivated from childhood.

I glanced around, spotting Liuli who was asleep, and Qin Yue who was playing with her hair. I signaled to her that I was leaving and received a nod in return.

I walked out of the square, relishing in the fresh air after being confined in the stuffy atmosphere for hours. My mind was clear and focused on my next steps.

"Now that I've reached the first stage of Qi Condensation, I'll head over to the scripture pavilion to pick a martial art," I thought to myself.

My identification jade guided me with its faint spiritual line, leading me through unfamiliar buildings until I reached a large Chinese pagoda.

I approached an ordinary-looking elderly man who was sitting outside with his eyes closed and greeted him with a respectful bow. "Elder, I am a new disciple who has reached the first stage of Qi Condensation. I heard that new disciples can learn a mortal-grade martial art for free."

The old man's eyes popped open and he let out a boisterous laugh, "Hohoho! I didn't expect the new disciples to be so astute in recognizing this old man." He stroked his long white beard, a symbol of pride among elderly men, and looked at me with interest.

I stood there, momentarily speechless.

'Does this old man really think he can fool someone sitting in front of one of the most important places in the sect?'

If so, then he could certainly benefit from taking some lessons from my cautious senior brother, Li Changsou.

Though I had some skepticism in my heart towards the old man, I maintained a respectful demeanor on my face. This was a key skill for a transmigrator.

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

"Elder, though you may seem ordinary at the moment, your remarkable aura is still striking and mesmerizing to this junior," I said, trying to flatter the old man.

The old man let out a hearty laugh in response.

"Hahaha! You are right. You mentioned that you were here to choose a martial art. You may enter the first floor of the Scripture pavilion and pick a mortal-grade martial art. Ordinarily, disciples are only allowed half an hour in the pavilion, but since you have entertained me, you may stay and choose for an hour."

"Thank you, Elder. Your kindness knows no bounds," I said, bowing respectfully.

'All According to the plan.'

In the game, this event would only occur if you reached the first stage of Qi condensation within a day. There were three options available, [Talk], [Ignore], and [Flatter]. Selecting the [Flatter] option would increase the time for choosing martial art.

I tried to flatter the old man and was rewarded with more time. Such events only occurred with important Non-Playing Characters. In some storylines, the old man would heroically sacrifices himself to kill several demons during an invasion, giving the protagonist time to escape.

Thinking of this, I again became a bit speechless feeling the power of the protagonist's aura.

You know the demons have been successfully sealed by the first sect leader of this sect so, breaking out of the seal was practically impossible. But for the growth of the protagonist, the seemingly unbreakable seal was broken...

Protagonist Aura was truly powerful~

Putting those thoughts behind me, I entered the Scripture Pavillion and looked at the numerous martial techniques that were present.

The first floor of the Scripture Pavilion housed only human-grade martial arts and spells, while the second floor was only accessible to inner disciples and contained profound-grade spells and techniques. The third floor, accessible only to core disciples and elders, held Earth-Grade martial arts and spells.

I roamed around the bookshelf looking at the descriptions of various martial arts.

"Immortal Sword Art", One sword cuts the immortal, demons, and Buddha. Who dares oppose me?

"Dragon God Body", A body as powerful as Dragon, impervious to all attacks and spells.

"69 Heavenly Thunder" Harness the power of Heavenly Tribulations and strike as fast as lightning in your boudoir to please every maiden.

Each martial art was covered by a layer of light prohibition. which could not be touched, only the name and introduction of the practice method can be viewed.

I looked at the three martial arts and was speechless. I can understand the first two martial arts as it was a cliche for low martial arts to have overbearing names and descriptions but why is the third martial art here? Isn't that a dual cultivation technique?

I moved towards the next bookshelf coming across other various martial arts with grandiose sounding names until I found the martial arts I wanted.

[Shadowless Movement Art]
