Violet and Idea 1.39

The rain pelted down from the sky in a relentless barrage, drenching the earth beneath it in an instant.

It had been a few hours since Bai Yu departed from Little Root Town. He was in tip-top condition, having taken some rest in the Zheng Household. But his journey to the sect was interrupted by an untimely rain.

Bai Yu could bulldoze through the rain with his movement technique, but he decided to take it easy for a while. Especially, since the past few weeks, he had been grinding hard on cultivation. Sometimes, you just gotta enjoy simple things in life.

Plus it did not help that he had not brought his trusty frying pan to use as a drying pan.

Bai Yu sought refuge from the storm under the protection of a massive tree. As he approached the trunk, he noticed the grandeur of the tree, with its sprawling branches stretching towards the sky like outstretched arms. Looking at the ginormous tree, he was once again reminded that, everything was big in the Cultivation world.

Bai Yu found a spot under one of the larger branches and settled down, resting his back against the rough bark.

Bai Yu was quite happy. He had been able to complete all of his objectives, including but not limited to preventing the future catastrophe caused by the rampaging, [Monkey King]. Even the Leader of Demon Monkey was one of the toughest opponents that he had faced, with all of his attacks bouncing off its thick hide. So, a [Monkey King] who is said to be the epitome of the entire demon monkey race would be a straight menace to face.

So, feeling good about himself, Bai Yu decided to reward himself but not before lighting a repelling incense on one of the other branches, its aroma especially repulsive to monsters. Although it was not foolproof, the incense was effective in keeping away weaker monsters with its overpowering scent. However, a more formidable and mighty monster may still track down the source of the fragrance and attack it.

With a flick of his wrist, Bai Yu summoned a gourd from within his bag of holding. It was the highly sought-after Four Flavoured Monkey Wine. It was named so, due to its ability to change flavors depending on one's mood.

Bai Yu was not a frequent drinker, having had limited exposure to wine in his previous life. However, he did appreciate a good beverage.

With a quick hand gesture, Bai Yu broke the seal on the gourd and the sweet aroma of the wine wafted out. He took a sip, and was pleasantly surprised by the sweet, peachy flavor that filled his mouth. The taste lingered, leaving a pleasant aftertaste, and he felt a sudden surge of spiritual energy coursing through him.

The spiritual energy from the wine was absorbed effortlessly by his body, a testament to the strength of his foundation laid by the Crystal Lotus. This unique ability to absorb various heaven and earth materials made Bai Yu an ideal candidate for a 'pay-to-win' style of cultivation.

Having consumed the wine, Bai Yu felt a steady increase in his cultivation level. He was already at the large circle of the Fourth stage of Qi Condensation, and with the help of the Monkey Wine, he could have easily broken through to the next stage. However, he resisted the urge to do so, choosing instead to savor the delightful wine.

Bai Yu continued to drink, letting the sweet and fragrant liquid wash over his senses, as he basked in the feeling of his cultivation steadily rising.

At the same time,

Boom!!

Suddenly, the sound of thunder echoed throughout the sky.

Bai Yu's gaze was drawn upwards, where he saw the sky obscured by thick, dark clouds that loomed oppressively overhead.

The clouds roiled and churned, as if alive with energy, as Bai Yu's high inspiration began to steer.

[Insight]

A bolt of lightning bursts opens the dark clouds, illuminating the world. Followed by the few drops of rain that fell to the earth below. The sound of wind and rain between heaven and earth intertwines with the thunderous roar of the sky above.

His "Lightning Splitting Technique", fueled by the scene he just witnessed, started to run on its own, breaking through the fourth stage and stabilizing on its own.

However, Bai Yu remained completely absorbed in the ever-changing scene playing out in his mind, indifferent to the storm around him. He was completely engrossed in his own thoughts, lost in the endless flow of inspiration

Huh.

Bai Yu snapped out of his daze

...and he had a wicked idea.

-*-*-*-*-*-

Bai Yu arrived at his house and only then did he let his grin grow loose.

He had finally, found a way to keep pace with the protagonists of the future. While he appeared strong compared to the current protagonist, he knew that in the near future, he would start to fall behind.

Although he could be considered a genius, the protagonist had something that he does not and it will propel them above the label of 'genius' to 'monster'.

And it was a very fundamental thing- Cultivation Technique.

Since they were the protagonists, they would obviously have something that set them apart from the masses, elevating them to a level beyond what was considered ordinary and this piece was their Cultivation Technique. His "Lightning Splitting Technique" was a good technique no doubt, but it will still fall a step short of their technique.

What they practiced could be called Transcendant exercises. Having the ability to break the norms of the traditional cultivation technique. For example, with Xiao Tian's Flame Fusion Sutra as long as he consumes different types of flames, it will continue to evolve endlessly. So, that thing doesn't have a limit.

But now, Bai Yu had finally found the piece that would lead to his ascension from genius to something more.

Instead of searching for other powerful techniques, he wanted to delve deeper into the "Lightning Splitting Technique" and elevate from one that simply worked on his Qi and body, to one that could be used to enhance his mind as well.

The reason for his 'Genius' was [Insight], the ability to grasp everything around him in an instant.

So, instead of separating from what made him a genius, he wanted to bolster it, further strengthening his speed of thought, to reach a level of lightning quickness that would rival even the Heavenly Tribulations.

As for the splitting part of his cultivation technique, he already knew what he wanted- Memory Partitioning.

Memory Partitioning or also known as Parallel Processing, a technique that allowed him to separate a single line of thought into multiple, diverse streams of consciousness.

Of course, right now, He only had a faint idea, and he still needed to lay down the foundation of this technique before he could evolve it further.

To do this, he needed a wealth of information and references from other cultivation techniques, which means requiring more merit points.
