Violet and Insight 1.6

[Qin Yue]

"This bed is quite comfortable," Qin Yue said as she jumped onto the bed next to her little sister. The sisters had requested to stay in a single residence as being separated would be detrimental to their cultivation.

"Hmm," came the unenthusiastic reply from Liuli.

"What are you doing?" Qin Yue noticed that Liuli was writing something and, as a responsible older sister, felt it was her duty to pester her little sister.

"I'm writing a letter to my friends. I promised to tell them all about the sect."

Qin Yue thought her little sister was just too adorable and said in a teasing tone, "Aww, that's so cute."

Smack

She was suddenly blinded by a pillow.

"Shut up! I didn't get to bring my friends to the sect. It feels weird not knowing anything here," Liuli said, looking upset.

It was time for big sister to cheer her up. "Don't be like that. How about Bai Yu? She seems cool. Too cool, actually," Qin Yue said, remembering the beautiful dark-haired girl who seemed to be unaffected by everything happening around her.

"Hey..." Liuli pouted at Qin Yue before blushing and smiling, remembering the smiling expression of Bai Yu.

"Oh, does my little sister have a crush on another girl? You didn't tell me you liked girls," Qin Yue said with a full-blown smirk as her adorable baby sister became flustered.

"No! It's not like that, we're just friends!"

"Oh no! What would dad think?" Qin Yue teased, not even trying to hide her amusement.

"Qin Yue, stop it!" Liuli said, hitting her with a pillow again.

Qin Yue was once again blinded by softness. Life was good for Qin Yue.

...

[Bai Yu]

After separating from the sisters, I made my way to my new residence. Though it was not as spacious as I had hoped, it was still a step up from the cramped caves assigned to the lower courtyard' disciples. Although the differentiation in living quarters might seem unjust, it was simply a reflection of the harsh reality of this world.

The strong preyed upon the weak. It was the very nature of this place.

My new house was simply furnished with just the essentials - a bed and a cupboard. The interior was neat and clean, giving the place a serene feeling.

I collapsed onto the bed, exhausted from the last few hours of worry. My nerves felt as if they had been through a spa, finally relaxing. The sudden transmigration had taken a toll on me.

After logging into the game I was familiar with, I found myself transported to a different world - a common plot in many novels. Fortunately, I had chosen to create a new character instead of taking on an existing one. With my limited acting skills, I wasn't confident enough to deceive others, especially in a world where soul possession existed.

Good job me for not getting killed these last few hours.

I praised myself inwardly before relaxing again. As I lay down on the bed, my thoughts began to flow.

Where this place was?

Why was I transmigrated?

Who transmigrated me?

Why this place has a similar setting to Cultivation Online? Is the game based on this world or is the world based on the game?

Sigh.

Countless questions plagued my mind with no clear answers in sight. However, I was sure of one thing - if this world was indeed based on the game I used to play, my life would be in peril.

In games like [Cultivation Online], there is always a main quest for the protagonist to fulfill. In this case, it was to defeat the outer demons and save the world from destruction. Unfortunately, the game I played was incomplete and went on hiatus just as the outer demons were starting to make their move, leaving me with limited information and an uncertain outcome.

Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit.

I let out a deep sigh, feeling overwhelmed. The world would soon be plunged into chaos as the demon army invaded. To survive, I needed to become strong.

Death.

Violation.

Slavery.

Humiliation.

I don't want that...

I need to get strong...by any means.

I need to first determine what weapons I currently have at my disposal.

As the renowned strategist Sun Tzu once stated, "If you know yourself and your enemy, you need not fear the outcome of a hundred battles."

I have a rare asset in the form of my Top-Grade spiritual root, which is considered uncommon in the Eastern continent. However, as I progress further in my cultivation, it will no longer hold the same level of significance.

In the latter stages of the game, powerful physiques like the Ancient Eucharist, Innate Sword Body, and War God Body will emerge. Compared to these, a Top-Grade spiritual root would pale in comparison.

Another advantage I have is my charm. If I can find a cultivation technique that allows me to effectively harness my charm, it will become a formidable weapon.

Both of these things were acquired through the modifications I made before starting the game. That means, my unique talent might also be available.

[Insight]

I whispered these words to myself and soon felt a warm current flow through my body. The world around me became crystal clear as if a mental blockage had been lifted. I was able to sense everything in fine detail.

Instinctively, as I activated insight, I immediately grasped its use and was astounded at my luck.

When I utilized this ability, my situational awareness, perception, intuition, and mental capabilities were raised to inhuman levels. In simpler terms, I was capable of seeing the true essence of things.

"Hm... Hahaha," I let out a loud, robust laugh that might have come across as somewhat sinister. My joyous expression was a result of not only the power of my newfound insight ability but also the fact that it was a growth-type ability.

I was thrilled to face another cliche, that of having a growth-type ability rather than a fixed one that's instantly powerful. The more my cultivation base rises, the more its powers will increase. That means if my cultivation base can support it, then even the law that governs this world will lay bare before my eyes.

To be honest, this cliche of a growth-type ability is often overused in novels and games where the main protagonist acquires an ability that starts weak but has a much higher potential. That's why I couldn't stop laughing.

Being on the receiving end of such a troupe sure feels nice. The Gacha Gods, truly blessed me when I was rolling the golden wheel.

As I calmed down, I moved quickly toward the mirror. My appearance remained the same, except for the soft glow of my gem-like violet eyes, which was not very noticeable. This meant that I could use this ability while staying under the radar.

It was truly a great ability~

However, soon I stopped using it as I felt a slight itch in my eyes. Obviously, such an overpowered ability had its limitations, and in my case, it was time-restricted, although it could also be due to my lack of cultivation.

Feeling exhausted, I stretched out on my bed. The tumultuous journey of emotions drained me mentally, and so, I made the wise decision to give myself a day of rest instead of rushing into practicing the cultivation manual and exposing myself to the risk of developing qi deviation. I knew that recklessly pushing beyond my limits would only lead to more complications in the future.

So, just like that, I drifted into my favorite type of relationship. Death without commitment. I slept.
