Chapter 74

(Oct 21)

KABAMM BAMM BAMMMMM!!!

I unleashed three consecutive punches that critically hit The Grinch causing it to release its claws and get pushed back.

The Grinch stomped into its feet deep into the dirt, holding its ground instead of getting sent flying back, knowing that a single wrong move could be fatal.

It glared at me, as all the magic in its body gathered towards the arms, sharpening and strengthening its claws.

I clenched my fist even harder and did the same as The Grinch, gathering my dragon essence to my arms to make my punches even more powerful.

We pounced on each other at the same time.

The Grinch slashed right through my body with its massive claws, tearing off chunks of my flesh as I landed a devastating blow, blasting a hole through its shoulder.

Both of us were jolted backwards, and yet neither of us stepped down nor retreated.

We continued exchanging blow after blow, attack after attack.

At first, I tried to dodge and to fight strategically, but the battle slowly devolved into a mindless brawl.

Strategy? Skill? Smarts? Technique? Fuck all that.

I was intoxicated on the thrill and excitement of a true battle because of the effects of the spice pills mixing in with my dragon blood.

Dodging wastes way too much time, I wouldn’t have been able to experience the true stimulation if I didn’t take damage.

My body was torn apart from The Grinch’s claws, ripped, battered, and shredded…. But I didn’t care.

I just tanked all the hits. And I kept swinging my fist. Punching over and over and over and over.

Dozens of punches, hundreds of punches, thousands of punches, tens of thousands of punches, hundreds of thousands of punches…

I just kept punching, swinging my arms back and forth in a blur of flashing light.

Every single fist I threw forward, broke the sound barrier thus creating a massive explosion sound. I was able to throw several dozen punches per second, which generated noise equivalent to multiple machine guns firing at the same time.

And each punch contained enough force to completely destroy a boulder like it were made of cheese (don’t ask me why I compared it to cheese, it was the first thing that came to mind).

The air resistance became so strong, it started to burn the skin off my hands and tore off bits of my flesh. But I didn’t care. I just kept punching, and my wounds kept healing.

The heat friction produced became hot enough to ignite The Grinch’s fur and set it on fire.

Despite The Grinch’s efforts to try to endure my punches and fight back, it started to fall behind and I started to overwhelm it.

The Grinch took all my hits and swung its claws at me, but my attacks were slightly faster, and my punches dealt more damage than its scratches.

I had a massive advantage, with my web essence, spice pills hyping me up, my dragon’s jet, dragon’s mind, and the fact I was able to completely ignore the pain.

It couldn’t keep up with my bombardment of attacks.

Slowly but surely, The Grinch was getting pushed back.

Its claw attacks slowed down, and eventually it stopped attacking me back.

The Grinch realized that it was in a bad situation, and changed to a defensive stance, raising its arms to cover its face and body.

My attacks didn’t stop and I continued raining punches down onto The Grinch, blowing chunks of meat off its body.

It lowered its body to increase stability, but I kept pounding into The Grinch with attacks, cracking the ground below it.

At the rate things were going, I was definitely going to win the fight.

And then it happened.

For the first time, The Grinch curled up its claws and clenched its hand tight into a fist and then…. like a rotating tornado, smashed its massive fist straight into my face.

It was a very powerful punch, and my entire upper body was blasted backwards with extreme force.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

I managed to barely stomp my foot into the ground in time and stopped myself from getting sent flying away.

This feeling…

The feeling of being punched in the face… it was so… refreshing.

This is it, the feeling of a true battle, a true fight.

Can you really call yourself a man if you haven’t been punched in the face? Of course not!

My smiled widened and stretched from ear to ear.

“Good one. That packed quite the punch…”

I grabbed The Grinch’s head with both my arms, and in one single movement, I smashed my skull directly into The Grinch’s forehead.

As we collided, our skulls fractured creating a crisp CRACK sound.

My vision momentarily blurred and then both of us were knocked back by the impact.

This… was a stupid move. In a normal fight, doing something like this would be incredible dumb, but as I said before…. I don’t fucking care.

After my brain stopped shaking, I felt another rush of energy.

I charged at The Grinch again, not giving it a moment to recover and continued pounding it with hundreds of punches.

Out of nowhere, The Grinch suddenly rushed at me and wrapped its massive arms around my body.

Its claws stabbed into my back and gripped hard onto me, not letting go no matter what I did.

It tightened its hold around me, and squeezed me as hard as it could, almost like an extremely deadly hug.

The Grinch… it was trying to crush me to death!

It realized that my punches were incredibly powerful and deadly, so by getting up close and hugging me like this, it can prevent that and try to crush me to death.

“Two can play at that game…”

In response, I also wrapped my arms around its back and flexed my muscles.

The two of us hugged, as we tried to squeeze the life out of each other.

Air slowly left my body, and I couldn’t breathe.

I could feel my blood flow being interrupted and my ribs started to crack.

“RAHHH!!!”

We both pushed our bodies together, using all our strength to crush the other.

CRACK!

The Grinch was bigger than me, pressing its entire body mass onto me, and was able to snap my spine and crack some of my ribs too.

I was able to ignore the pain, but if this continued, I was going to literally snap in two.

Luckily, the air next to The Grinch’s head suddenly exploded as it was hit with several thunder arrows.

With that strike, its grip loosened, and I managed to jump back just as The Grinch was turned into ice.

William and Alisha to the rescue.

Nice.

“Phew…”

The chill from William’s ice calmed me down slightly and allowed to me think straight again.

Man, that was a close one. I would’ve actually have died if it weren’t for the support.

I got so immersed in the battle, that I completely disregarded my well being.

I needed to find a good balance of offense and defense, so I can do damage but not receive too much damage myself.

William’s ice couldn’t trap The Grinch for long and the ice started to break apart.

My broken spine was also slowly healing using my dragon essence.

I stretched my arms and back, making sure everything was fine before dashing straight at The Grinch before it could fully break out of the ice, and punched it right in the guts.

All the ice shattered as The Grinch was flung backwards.

I resisted the urge to pounce on top of it and just start going crazy because I needed to have some self control.

By now, The Grinch and I were both very tired.

In real time, we probably only fought for minutes, but to us in our sped-up perception, it felt like we’ve been fighting for days.

Looking back, this was one of the most drawn-out battles I’ve ever experienced.

Even though we both wanted to end this fight already, neither of us were willing to be the loser.

Once again, for like, the fourth time already, we glared at each other and charged.

Unlike before, I wasn’t only dodging nor was I going crazy on the offensive either.

At the beginning of the battle, I only dodged and didn’t attack, and later I only attacked but didn’t dodge. Now I was doing both.

I was combining my crazy raging dragon instincts along with my ability to adapt and learn its movements.

Almost none of its attacks hit me and would only graze me.

It swung at me several times, I leaned back and then landed a powerful jab into its side.

This required absolute concentration since I needed to learn and predict its movements in real time.

There were so many things to manage and keep track of while fighting, like my posture, its distance away from me, predicting its next attack… a normal person wouldn’t be able to multitask like this.

The world around us disappeared, and our only focus was us, with our eyes locked on each other.

It was at this moment when I suddenly felt… nostalgic.

This reminded me of the first time I went to a dance with my wife… neither of us knew how to dance, but we still danced, and we messed up a lot.

I would step on her foot, she would step on mine, and we would be bumping into each other a lot. However, after a bit, we learned each others rhythm and we got better at dancing with each other.

For some reason, the fight with The Grinch brought back long forgotten memories of my wife.

My wife is gentle and nice, its almost insulting to compare her to The Grinch, and yet… I couldn’t help but be reminded of her for some reason.

I wanted to focus on the fight, but I couldn’t stop thinking about my wife’s gorgeous figure…

The way she moved, the way she danced, the happiness I felt when I danced with her…

Another rush of energy suddenly filled my entire body at the mere thought of what I’m going to do to my wife later in bed.

“Hey greenie, let’s end this quick, shall we? I’ve got a wife waiting!!”

I found an opening, rushed in, dodging all attacks and followed with a kick to its thigh.

Its entire leg exploded and fell off its body.

Now that The Grinch lost its balance, I grabbed its face with both my hands and shoved it into my crotch.

I wrapped my legs around its neck firmly while gripping its jaw with my hands, relaxed the muscles in my body and then let gravity do its work as I started falling sideways.

My body rotate 180 degrees upside down, causing The Grinch’s head to completely snap backwards.

Its neck was twisted in the opposite direction.

While jumping off, its body flopped to the ground.

Was it dead?

Spoiler alert: No.

Its leg that I blasted off started to regenerate, and its head started slowly rotating back into its original position.

“Well fuck me… that would’ve killed any person or even a monster, and yet you survived? Are you a fucking cockroach???”

Surely enough, it stood up once again.

How does one deal with something like this?

The first thing a normal person would think to do is to kill it in one swift strike, or maybe incapacitate and trap it somehow…. But that’s wrong.

There’s only one correct way to deal with this.

If someone can regenerate infinitely… all you need to do is kill them over and over until they wished they were dead.
