It was during the middle of spring when I started attended the Military Academy.
As I walk towards the academy, with the slight breeze of wind and the cherry blossom trees along the road, I mutter to myself.

I heard a voice close by behind me.
As I turn around to see who it was, a beautiful girl with a long silky black hair appear, wearing the same school uniform as me.
I was stunt by her beauty that I could not utter a single word.
Then with the lovely and soft voice she spoke to me.

[My name is Yuki, Hinako Yuki. It’s a pleasure to meet you.]
Saying with a bright smile on her face.
[Ah… umm, I’m Afann, nice to meet you too.]
I respond with nervousness tone and a bashful face.
[*giggle.* Shall we get going or we’ll be late for the entrance ceremony.]

Yuki and I start walking towards the Academy alongside each other.
A minute later
[Oi, what yer bastard doing to Yuki!]
All the sudden, we heard a voice shouting from the distance behind us.
[Huh?]
As we turned, there were a bulky guy shouting. He was running at full speed towards us as if something was chasing after him.
After he were getting closer to us, he reaches out his right hand and start grabbing my shirt and pushes me against the cherry blossom tree.
[Gah!]
[What I you going to do to Yuki, huh?!]
The guy started to yell even more at my face.
[Well, I’m asking what I you going to do to Yuki?!]
[What I you are talking about?]
I respond with the shock on my face.

Yuki shouted at the guy call Takaki, which I presume is the one grabbing me.
Takaki immediately stop before landing a hit on my face after hearing Yuki shouted and both started to stare at each other.
A second later.
[Oi, Takaki wait up.]
I heard a guy voice shouting as he is approaching from the distance.
[Oh, Yuki here too…]
[Ah… *sigh* This again ah.]
As I turn my head toward the guy that was approaching toward us, he gives off the expression that it was to be expected of this to happen.
[Ok, Takaki let go of that guy.]
[Buzz off Hiro!]
Takaki started yelling at that guy which is call Hiro.
[Come on now, you don’t want to start another fight right.]
Hiro talk in a low tone with a slight smirk.
[Tch.]
Takaki pushes me against the tree before releasing his grip on my shirt and started walking towards the Academy.
With the worrisome facial expression and an apologetic tone, Yuki ask.
[Are you alright Afann? You not hurt, are you?]
[Yeah, I’m fine. Only minor pain at the back.]
[I’m truly sorry for what happen just now, really sorry.]
Yuki apologise while bowing her heard.
[Really don’t worry about it.]

[Yeah, really.]

From the distance, we heard a bell rang from the direction of the academy.
While facing at the direction of the sound coming from, I ask Yuki.
[Is that the school bell?]
[Yeah, should be.]
[That’s mean… umm…]
[I think we should start running.] x2
Both of us said the same thing as we look at each other and nodded before we start running.
[………]
[*Sigh*. They forget about me again.]
Hiro mutter to himself while looking depress as he slowly drags his feet.
A few minutes later as we ran, I put a smile on my face and thought to myself.
[Yeah. This life is not bad.]

Yuki looked at me with a curious look and ask.
[What’s the matter?]
[Nothing, nothing at all.]
[Hehe, anyway lets’ get along for the next 3 years.]
I put a big smile while respond back.

Yuki respond in a soft tone with a bashful smile on her.
As we ran towards the academy, I felt that my decision of coming to this academy was the right choice. However, what’s to come will decide the fate of humanity.
--Current Year 2200, April--
--Location: Fort Ester (Boarder of the Eastern Region)--
In this current world, humanity has been push back to the brink of existence due to the overpower force of the enemies.
Those enemies are the ‘Spirit’ and the ‘Invader’.
The first enemy appear was 30 years ago when the sky turns dark and a single huge space craft slowly descended into our planet.
With no warning or hesitation, the invader started killing and capturing us. As one after another, the space craft descended with no end in sight.
The invader is a humanoid creature with a pure black skin that has glowing lines on their whole body.
Each invader is represented by the colour of their glowing line and there are 4 colours, green, blue, yellow and red.
Humanity manage to stand their ground 5 years later when they discover a technique to harness the power of invader glowing line. The power they obtain are called ‘Mana Circuit’.
The mana circuit is in a form of chip that is implanted into the human brain which connected to the body nerves system.
However, the success rate for the implementation is less than 10% and only able to implant on people who have not reach the age 10 years old.
10 years after the appearance of the ‘Invader’, a major incident occur at the Military Research Department sector which the ‘Spirit’ show its appearance.
As a result, again humanity is driven back to the brink of extinction and this time we were push to our last stronghold, Karlason. Once a peaceful city but were force a heavy fortified.
Within Karlason, there 4 forts defending the city.
Fort Nortia (Northern Region), Fort Ester (Eastern Region), Fort Sutian (Southern Region) and Fort Wegisizer (Western Region).
Each of the Fort are control by the Region Commander which is chosen by the Central Council to ensure power balance within the territory.
As for the Military Academy I’m attending, it located near the Eastern Region which will soon become a graveyard.
The start of the end will unfold while all hope is gone, a ray of light will illuminate for the survival of humanity.
And this is my story for the upcoming war which determine the survival of the humanity.
