Morning before sunrise.

I woke up and prepare myself ready for morning classes. I went to the cafeteria for breakfast before heading to class and along the way I saw Yuki.

[Oh hey, good morning Yuki.]

[You’re getting breakfast as well?]

[Yeah.]

Yuki then seem to be hesitant to ask something.

[What wrong.]

I asked Yuki.

[Ah… umm. Is just that, did anything happen last?]

Yuki let out a sigh of relief.

We then continue having breakfast and head to the classroom.

As we reach the classroom, both Hiro and Ron was already in the class.

[Morning guys.]

[Class haven’t even start yet.]

I respond to Ron with an irritated tone.

Yuki and Hiro laugh away.

A moment later instructor Becker came in and brief us the routine class schedule.

During the morning classes are usually basic education includes mana circuit theory, weapon creation, etc. while in the afternoon are physical training, CQC training, mana circuit training, etc.

As for today classes we go through how to operate the WCD (weapon creation device) in theory and in the afternoon, we perform physical exercise and operate actual WCD.

[Alright, have all acquire a WCD?]

The one conducting the afternoon classes are instructor Luke who is a former soldier of the expedition team which venture out of the border.

[Now I’m going to show you all how to operate the WCD.]

[But before that, you all need to activate your mana circuit.]

[Tch, what a waste of time.]

As I’m activating my mana circuit, I overheard the conversation of others student.

He then raises a question.

[Instructor, if both of us able to operate the WCD, can we be excuse of this class?]

[Mmh, Sabastian and Erza right?]

[Alright, both of can leave for today lesson. Don’t need to show anything.]

I watch them as they exit the training ground.

Ron suddenly came up to me.

[I’m talking about the both of them.]

Ron then let out a sigh.

[You idiot. Have you ever see anyone in our class having given leeway from the instructor?]

[Well, is the first day of actual lesson. so maybe…]

[You really are an idiot.]

Ron let out another sigh as he shakes his head.

Then I was left hanging after what he said.

We then start practicing on activating the WCD.

[Remember, try to feel the circuit connecting to the WCD. That way it be easier to activate the WCD.]

[Uugghh… huff, huff, huff.]

After a couple of time, I manage to connect my circuit to the WCD.

Compare to the others, I the slowest to connect with the WCD even to the others blue mana circuit.

[Oh, it seems that everyone is already able to connect to the WCD.]

[Now, create any weapon. This step will be easy compare to connect to the WCD.]

As I look around, most people are able to create a weapon with ease.

So, I give it a try to create a sword and surprisingly managed to succeed in the first attempt.

[If you’re able to create, then try changing to another weapon.]

We practice our WCD until sunset.

While everyone was leaving, I approach instructor Luke.

[Instructor Luke, may I stay behind and continue practicing the WCD?]

[Mmmh.]

Instructor Luke looked at me with intense eyes.

[Alright, but you must clean up the area and lock it up.]

[Huh, clean up the area?]

I answered immediately with a shock look.

[Well yeah, since you the last one. Alright?]

I let out a sigh and nodded.

[Great, practice hard.]

As the instructor left, I continue practicing.

Meanwhile outside the training ground…

Both Yuki and Hiro waited at the gate for Ron and me.

[They both sure are late.]

[Well I saw Afann talking to the instructor before we left.]

[Oh, there’s Ron.]

Ron approaches towards Yuki and Hiro, Ron asked.

[What are you waiting for?]

[Ah, we actually waiting for you and Afann.]

[Where Afann anyway.]

Yuki asked Ron.

[Oh, he stays back to practice his WCD. *sigh* It’s just a waste of time.]

Ron walk pass Yuki and Hiro as he answered with disappointment.

[He’s doing extra work ah.]

Yuki look towards the training ground as she murmuring to herself.

Hiro look at Yuki and pat her shoulder.

[Come on, lets’ get dinner. No point in worrying.]

Hiro said and walk away.

Yuki let out a sigh of depress and walk away.

I continue to practice till late night before calling it a day.

6 more days to duel.

The following morning in the classroom…

Today theory is about the different colour of the mana circuit and its advantage.

From what instructor Becker said…

From the lowest is the blue, green, yellow, red and black as the highest.

Blue have the highest durability, but at the cost of having overall low performance capability on the others aspect. (Strength, Power, Speed, Circuit-control, WCD activation-speed, etc.)

Green have overall standard performance capability with the increase of circuit control. (Able to control the output mana on the WCD)

Yellow have a slight better performance capability compare to green but with the major increase of Strength, Power and WCD activation-speed.

Red have overall the better performance capability compare to yellow as all performance capability is increase but have a slight durability compare to blue.

Black is a rare mana circuit with an overall major increase in performance capability. Its’ also has the lowest success rate in implanting.

As we ended the morning classes, we had our lunch and head for the training ground where we prepare to do another WCD training.

At training ground…

[Alright, today lesson we’ve going to have a practice duel. So, pick partner and start duel.]

After I heard what the instructor said, I thought to myself that it’s a great idea to pick a partner with a yellow circuit since it will help as trial-duel before duelling Sam.

[Ron, do you want to partner. It helps me a lot if you do.]

I asked Ron as he also a yellow circuit user.

Ron looked at me as he’s not interested.

[You know, you just wasting time, right?]

[Come on, don’t say that.]

[Tch, what you like.]

Ron responds with irritated tone.

And as usual Ron didn’t hold anything back when duel and I constantly being thrown around.

After afternoon class ended, I continue staying back to practice.

Meanwhile at the training ground front door…

[Where’s Afann?]

Yuki asked Hiro.

[*sigh*. He should be doing extra training again.]

Yuki then walk in the training ground.

[Hey, where are you going. Geez.]

Hiro follow Yuki.

A moment later both saw Ron standing near the railing at the grandstand looking at the training field.

Both of them approach Ron and Yuki ask.

[Ron, where’s Afann.]

He turns toward Yuki and say.

[Down there, still practicing the WCD.]

[So, he going to be doing this until the day of the duel.]

Yuki said it with a worry tone.

[*sigh*. Pathetic.]

Ron said it as he walked away.

[At least he’s trying right.]

Yuki said it with a soft voice.

[And as his childhood friend shouldn’t you be helping him rather than discourage him!]

Out of nowhere Yuki raises her voice at Ron.

Ron stop and look at Yuki.

[He’s only trying hard to lose in the duel. If you really know the real him, you won’t need to bother at all.]

Ron said it as he stares with an intense eye.

I overheard what Yuki said and resume training till late night then have dinner before heading back to the dorm.
