BK2; Chapter 43: [ Coincidence or Fate? ]

An extremely excited and very familiar voice rang out from the other side of the [Telepathy].

Browsing the other Hein’s memory once again, he found out that this voice certainly belonged to his tamed companion – Hell.

By the way, communication became possible between the master and his tamed monster even if they were thousand distance apart from each other.

As long as there is no restriction or obstruction using magic then no matter where they are they are still connected by each other.

That is made possible by one of the tamer skill [Telepathy].

[What is it Hell? Did anything happen there?] Hein asked.

[ No, I mean yes Master! Big Sister Leviana was anxiously looking for you! She wanted to ask when you are going to come back.]

[Hm… From the way it is… I guess it should still take some time before I can return.]

[I see… hm wait a moment..]

“Is there something wrong, human freak?” The Serpent King suspiciously asked Hein who became rooted from his position.

Although he was anxious what this freak in human skin is planning, he didn’t show it in his expression for he was certainly indebted by him from curing his poison.

He decided in his heart that no matter what this freak ask him; as long as it’s not unreasonable then he will surely respond to him.

The same could be said by the girl sitting beside the Serpent King.

Although she was still suspicious towards this unpredictable human in front of her, she still couldn’t forget the fact that this young man in black wearing a mask spared them and even gave her a medicine to heal her father… but even so, she wasn’t that naive to trust him that easily.

“Ah sorry about that… can you wait for a moment, my friend suddenly contacted me, you see so I was just wondering maybe something happened.” Hein told them as he quietly waited for Hell.

Hearing him, the people present once again became dumbfounded by his shameless actions.

Isn’t he the one who came here asking for something? How can he still act as if he was the one who’s being asked for?

What a man.

Too shameless that it was hard to say it.

Not knowing what they were thinking, Hein waited while putting his right hand to his right ear. After a few seconds,

[Ah sorry for making you wait master.]

Hell finally talked.

[It’s nothing so what’s the problem?]

[Master, Big Sister Leviana wanted to tell you good news! She said that she wanted to see you as soon as possible.]

[Good news?]

[Yes! Big sister said that she is… pregnant!]

“What!” Startled. Hein sprung from his sitting position, greatly startling the Serpent King and the others.

[I, is that really true?] Asked Hein. Hein knew that elf have reaaaaaally low fertility rate so no matter how long his father and mother waited, they were still hasn’t given an offspring.

It came to the point that his mother Leviana was dreaming it night and day but now that it finally came true, he wondered how happy his mother and father right now.

[Yes master. They were even celebrating for two nights already.]

Hearing that, Hein couldn’t suppress his happiness anymore.

He raised his two hand in the air and shouted “Yessssss!!!!” with all his might. He even break into dance as he was just too happy of the great news.

Contrary to Hein’s happy feeling, the people who heard him and saw him dancing was left perplexed.

Their faces distorted into bewilderment, including the Serpent King with ‘Just what the hell happened to this brat’ look plastered on his old wrinkled face.

Beside him, Lugas became vigilant as he pointed his spear to the dancing Hein.

Beside the Serpent King was his daughter who, like him was looking at Hein with suspicious looks, wondering just what made him so happy.

“A-ahem!” The Serpent King coughed to make Hein regained his senses.

“Did something happen?”

Hearing the Serpent King’s voice, Hein finally regained his senses as he stopped. He then coughed awkwardly, patted his clothes and then returned to sit calmly; acting as if nothing happened.

“I apologize; I just received some very good news so I somehow lost myself for a moment.” Hein said as he leaned his back to bow.

Seeing his actions, the Serpent King seemed to be surprised for a moment and then waved his arm.

“Don’t worry about it… here, why don’t you try some horned rat stew I made. It might help you calmed down.”

“I, is that so …”

Although the name seemed strange, Hein still reluctantly accept it.

Looking at the clay bowl in his hands, he saw the green colored soup which was releasing some bubbles.

“Don’t worry, there’s no poison in there so you can rest assured.”

“I, is that so… no, poison is the least of my worry. As what I said before, Even though I’m like this, I’m a very delicate person inside and out.

However, even if you struck my chest with a stake or a silver cross I still wouldn’t die that easily, just like that even if you poison me I’m still going to live a long life… I’m somewhat immune after all~”

Hein said in a rather indifferent manner.

This seemingly joke-like word, left the people who heard him doesn’t know how to respond.

Their heads filled with various retorts but they held it in as they felt that if they really did so, they would lose. Although they don’t know how would they lose but they did not dare speak it, much less laugh.

Especially the slaves behind Hein who suppressed it with their lives and it was extremely hard for them to hold it in.

[Anyway, Hell tell mom that I will be coming back shortly. After I finished this business, I will then rushed home, okay~]

[Yes master!]

Ignoring the expressions in his surrounding, Hein informed Hell about his plans.

When he finished talking, he then raised his head to look at the Serpent King.

“Really, I apologize. I just got news from home… anyway back to what where talking… ugh yeah, where did I stop?”

“It’s fine… you were just about tell us what you came here for”

“Oh that’s right… anyway, can you let the people behind me stay here for a while?” While saying so, Hein looked at the perplexed slaves.

Just like him, the Serpent King and his daughter also looked at them.

The slaves were immediately become flustered as they immediately bowed to show their respects.

“What do you mean?” The Serpent King asked suspiciously.

He was wondering what this human freak is thinking at all.

Didn’t he know that they were his enemy? They just welcomed him in because of the matter regarding the medicine pill as well as the fact that he spared them at that time.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

In the first place, in the eyes of many, they were still treated as monsters and were greatly feared.

Even those beastfolks feared them and treat as one of the monster races so a man trusting them like this is too unimaginable.

Lamia the Serpent King’s most beloved daughter seemed to be thinking on the same planet as she cast Hein a very doubtful look.

She realized that she really couldn’t understand this human at all.

Everyone inside the exotic hut looked at Hein who was actually not minding the situation he created.

He was tilting the clay bowl in hands while examining it, wondering if whether this soup was edible or not.

And then he stopped.

Much to the surprise of the slaves, especially the female ones, Hein took off his black mask and started sniffing the soup making his handsome looks distorted.

To anyone’s point of view, Hein looked like a child getting curious on the food in his hand he saw for the first time.

As if he made some kind of resolution, he put the bowl in his mouth and slowly sips the soup.

Thus, the moment he tasted the soup…… all the color on his face was drained as he stuck out his tongue while saying ‘Bitter!!!’

This action of his, garnered laughter from all sides including the slaves and Lamia. Even the Serpent King couldn’t help but shot a wry smile at him while saying,

“Medicine… very bitter~”

Hearing his words, Hein could only glare at him, “You’re treating your guest with a bitter medicine?”

“Hahaha what can I do, you came at the right time~”

Hein scowled at him, “Bastard old man.”

Lugas on the corner could only shot Hein with a doubtful look.

The hostility in his eyes seemed to have been greatly reduced. He suddenly remembered what his father, the Serpent King and his sister Lamia told him.

‘…How can I say this, although that monster is very strong, he still emit some kind of aura that make anyone around him quite relaxed. He didn’t act superior or even looked down anyone. It’s as if, everyone around him were just the same, equal in existence…well, he was a strong and great warrior that’s what I can only say. I wanted to fight him again…not just that, I also want to trust my back to him in a fight one day.’

‘…Hm? Oh are you talking about that man? Well, he’s an interesting man. It’s as if he doesn’t refer us as an enemy just because of our race. Though that seems doubtful because his human but, how can I explain this… that’s what I can think while looking at his eyes.’

Looking at him right now, for some reason that’s also what Lugas was thinking. It’s as if he suddenly realized what his father and sister was talking about.

Ignorant of someone’s thinking of him, Hein made a rolling gesture with his right hand,

“Anyway that’s that old man. Until I can find some safe place this fellas can live in, I will take them back again. So what do you say?”

The Serpent King, although he was dethroned by his brother, he was still a real king that serves for ages however his strong heart still skipped a beat when Hein swept his gaze over him.

He felt something like this before when he was fighting him but that feeling wasn’t as strong as this time; it’s as if a heavenly king was standing in front of him.

Mysterious and the indefinable quality about this human freak made even the revered Serpent King a bit wary.

Letting some human stranger stay within the place?

If someone else do that they would have become a free meal for the salamanders and horned serpents but things would be different if it came from this human freak… letting tens of people is something the Serpent King could accomplish with a single word.

“Something as easy as that is no problem… well, as long as they don’t cause trouble or breaks some laws then they can stay here.” The Serpent King’s words were quite magnanimous as he softly nodded.

This was obviously the mark of a generous heart as well as the constitution of a real malevolent king.

“Anyway, you must be tired from the long journey, right? Lamia, lead them to some empty huts for the moment. There’s also a clean swamp not far from here so you better cleansed your bodies, after that let’s have a meal together.”

Hein flashed a dazzling smile towards the Serpent King.

“And here I thought you will decline…”

“If it’s like this then it’s nothing to worry about. As what I can see, there were some demi-humans anyway and judging from their appearances, I can somewhat guess the situation you are in… In the first place, I’m somewhat indebted to you for curing my poison so I’ll do anything I can do if you ever need my help.”

“… words befitting for a king~ so much for that, although I want to take up your offer but I need to go now. I need to return home quickly”

“Is that so?”

“Yeah…” Hein looked back into the Serpent King’s eyes and smiled.

“Well, we can do that in the near future. I might visit every now and then to check up these fellas”

There were no grim or any negative emotions in the eyes of these two people.

As if it was expected to happen, such a sensation was shared.

As the two looked and treated each other as if they were old friends, Lamia and the other people present was quietly watching them.

Scared to disturb them as they felt that something unimaginable has just happened.

Something out of their scope has just begun.

The young man, who was born from a different world, grew up in the bottom as an ordinary commoner while enjoying his current normal lifestyle.

The man hailed and revered as a king. Born with powerful strength and known as a genius in terms of war.

They were like oil and water.

Their way of life differed so much. Their personality and existence was like heaven and earth. There was no way they could get along much less understand each other in such a short time.

However, the gear of fate continued to spin.

-Tick tock tick tock.

Regularly, mechanically and inevitably.

Even as the clocks stopped, it meant nothing.

Coincidence or Fate?

Different paths now intertwined.

-Tick tock tick tock.

The gears of fate simply exist to continue in the direction they are supposed to.

Destiny that no one has ever seen or heard as it continued to surround the interlocked gears towards the hidden mystery of the world…
