Episode 3.5: Grocery Run, Recap
1. Back at the camp in Silvax Forest, those in charge of the different functions in the camp had a meeting to discuss how to provide for the newcomers from Duxon. Lenna was very obviously unwell and more than a little unhinged, and insisted that Tobei should sell all of his whiskey and wine in Urden to buy supplies for the camp. Though the idea of selling the one thing that could numb Tobei’s mind terrified him, the shame and guilt of what had happened at the party led him to agree.
In the middle of the meeting, Edgar, the old man from Duxon, came in to offer the help of the Duxon prisoners to provide for the camp. Suddenly, he recognized Doll, and became very hurt and disheartened when she pretended not to remember him from her own time at Duxon.
2. Tobei was haunted by Lenna’s accusing words as he collected the alcohol he had hidden across camp and brought it to Sen, who helped him load it into a wagon. Tobei knew Sen was in love with him (or at least that Sen thought so) and tried hard to ignore the young man because Tobei felt Sen was far too good and pure for Tobei.

Once they’d loaded everything up, Kunin came along to accuse Tobei of attempting to leave him behind, and peed on the wagon to illustrate how he felt about that. In some ways, the Wolves are better communicators than their people.
3. While Doll prepared lunch, she reminisced and connected with her grandmother through the cooking—and tried not to think about Edgar. She spent the lunch rush very nervous about seeing him again and trying hard not to show it, but Edgar didn’t appear, and Doll retreated into the inner kitchen to do the dishes. While struggling to get the water pump working, Edgar entered the kitchen and, seeing Doll losing her battle with the pump, came in to help in the cutest way possible.
4. Tobei and Sen arrived in Urden, and Tobei met with Jukele inside Ike’s Tavern. They flirted, and eventually Jukele agreed to buy all of Tobei’s whiskey and wine in exchange for letting them take whatever they needed from one of the Adebuun warehouses. Tobei was freaking out a little bit at unloading (almost) all of his alcohol.
5. The camp received Tobei, Sen, and the wagon full of supplies like heroes—all except Lenna, who of course tried to make Tobei feel even more shitty than he already did, and it worked. Sen comforted Tobei and tried to tell him how kind and good Sen thought he was, which Tobei didn’t know how to handle. The tension that had been building between them all day finally boiled over.
