It took a long time to explain to Percival what happened; the capybara listened attentively, his ears perked up. When he told about how he changed, Percival was afraid.
“Sir Roberion, I’m sorry, I… that is a violation. A being to possess my body. The only saving grace is that you are healthy sir”, Percival gives a small smile, “But your vision is something that I never heard of, the process of knighthood seems familiar, but I don’t know about any flame ceremony. Neither any of the people and knight armors seems familiar”
“That’s alright Percival, I honestly didn’t expect you to know anything, but it seemed wrong to not tell to you what happened”, Roberion finished dressing up, and looked at the rusty armor.
“What do you think Percival, does this armor seem usable or useful to harvest materials? It seems it was hidden by the clothing”
“I don’t know Sir, but the material seems of great quality, the rust doesn’t seem dangerous on the inside, so I think you could wear it, if it has any magical properties it must have been lost long ago, but the material is really durable, a good blacksmith could repair it to become a good piece of armor”.
“Could I wear it right now?”
“I think I could use some of the clothing as padding and try to make it usable like a brigandine Sir, but I’m not sure.”
“That is better than nothing, thank you Percival”.
It took a while, but time was something he was already most out of; he didn’t know if he will have an update to the quest or anything, he only knew that the quest was still on being a constant thing being displayed on the upper corner of his left eyes, any try to see more about the system, items, harvesting, are met with failure. The system itself was gone for good, but his quest was still a collar in his neck. If it would break off or strangle him if he failed the quest, he wouldn’t want to find out.
“Let’s go Percival, you keep the rapier and shield and be in the front, I will keep in the back with this guy here”, said Roberion taking his old rifle out, it was obvious way less useful than the rapier. Fighting stronger creatures would be impossible with it, but it was better than nothing, even if it was low in ammunition.
I will throw a bunch of rations on them if the need arises, or anything really. Maybe I can find something useful as we go.
Roberion and Percival finally exited the tunnel. Now they could enjoy the otherworldly view, the glowing mushrooms, the big roots and plants, the place seemed like a fantastical tale.
If there was a path, they were covered a long while ago by the plant life. At the start of the path, only glimpses of gray could be seem resembling the temple walls and floor, just a short distance after, they were all covered. In the distance, the path seemed to go downhill. There a gigantic hole could be seen just in front, looking like a round door, if there was a way out is following that path.
All around them, the luminosity was coming from the glowing plant life, the sky had luminous beings similar to glowing jellyfish that could be see floating in the sky. If one was careful, they could see animals similar to birds or insects flying around them.

In their walk, it didn’t take long for them to reach the hole, although Percival seemed curious about the mushrooms. He didn’t make any move after it. After all, who would guess what they were?! They just fought a gigantic stone-line worm a while ago.
Looking through the hole, it seemed that they were on the surface at night. In the distance, mountains could be seen all around him, a weird structure could be observed in the distance, its structure seemingly gray, it would take days for him to reach it. Looking down, he saw a missmatch of black and brown constructions around a dark blue lake.
At his left side another structure could be seem, near the mismatched place, that one was gray and it seemed like a sort of dark purple wave was leaving and reaching the brown and black constructions, when nearing it a red and yellow wave stropped the purple wave, and the cycle repeated. It seemed to be at least four hours always from him.
But what got his attention was a big water extension that also had a dark blue color. That is a true lake, the other lake compared to it seemed like a pond. If he wanted to reach that structure he needed to cross the waters, he didn’t know how, though.
“I suggest we go to that near structure Sir. My eyes could be playing tricks on me, but it seems there is movement there.”
“I would prefer not to. All the interactions I had until now ended in death”, Roberion tried to dissuade Percival, but both of them knew he had no choice.
They kept walking down the slope, trying to reach the small like structures around the lake. The way down was not dangerous aside from the terrain, it wasn’t rare to find Roberion pulling on plants to not fall down the slope, the normal gloves already full of grass and seeds sticket to it.
Percival though seemed to walk like he lived there. It seemed even funny to Roberion, how someone so rotund and with small legs could walk without any problem. He most of the times needed to stop and wait for Roberion to catch up.
They didn’t meet any danger during the course, some critters and weird insects could be found, like furless chipmunks and colorful grasshoppers. But all of them looked at a distance, like Roberion and Percival were some kind of curiosity.
Nearing it, they started o hear a disturbance in the structure, a sound could be heard, like some sort of horn. The way it was sounded, it seemed to give some message. The content of the message was beyond Percival and Roberion's understanding.
Nearing the structure that had black walls, he only could hear a shout. Many of the times he heard the shout he didn’t understand a thing, but he guesses it was said in different languages, or it was the most weird language he heard of. Trying not to cause problems, Roberion signed to Percival to stop.
A slit of the giant gate seemed to open up from there, a big creature that seemed made of a mix of black wood and rhino showed up, weirdly the creature seemed to have a big head of hair like a lion's mane, the color was white. There was a humanoid green creature mounted on it, in a leafy black color clothing. Its head seemed like a mix of a fish and a monkey.
Two others followed him. The height of these creatures seemed between 1,40 to 1,60 meters. These two were also mounted in the wood rhinos. Nearing him, they kept at least a hundred meters of distance. The nearest one kept shouting in weird languages.
“Sir, I think he is signaling for us to talk”, said Percival, mimicking the movement the humanoid monkeyfish made signaling at their own mouth.
Before they could say something, though, he finally understood what one of the fish people could say.
“Truly problematic. What are the chances in this universe that the language I refused to learn was the one our visitors in this apocalyptical time would speak?! Your imperial language is horrible to our tongue, some of us even have loss of breath”. During this conversation, the monkeyfish neared them. He seemed to talk in a bunch of clicks made with his mouth, a device on his hand translated it, and that was how they were understanding him.
“A presentation is in order. My name is Kunglau the messenger, and we are the Fiznaults. As I already said, we are in a bit of a nightmarish situation. Now, are you friends or foes? Give all the details you can, and we shall receive”, the fiznaults take out their lances assuming battle positions, their wood rhinos shake their mane involving their riders like some sort of hairy shield, and start trotting with their horns positioned.
