Both of them are flabbergasted when they saw the enormous size of the thing. But the vision they had was poor. They needed a better look. “Alright Percival, go there and take a better look. I have no idea if you should take bombs or not, it’s your choice”, Roberion just shrugged staring at the tube.
“Hum, I think that some landmines would be favorable sir”, the same process repeated. They made a clothing bag for Percival and put some explosives inside, this time though Roberion withdrawn all the crates and opened them beforehand. “That same mistake won’t happen again. The bag keeps the items intact. There isn’t a risk explosives will spill from the crater if we put they right, sadly it doesn’t seem I can withdraw single items from a storage, it didn’t work with the supplies”.
“Percival, when you think you have seen enough, give some signal that you have seen enough, then we can go plan our next steps", as he said that Percival did a salute, he did a knowing look, Roberion got the idea and give the knight a pat on the shoulder.
Percival took a long look around the area before going down, the walls were a mixture of some dirty of the brown soil, jade green stones for the drawings and runes, green light tubes for lightning, and most of the rest was gray seeming to be concrete. The place didn’t look to have stairs of any way of going down projected, going a little outside from their tunnels, one could see that the tunnel also wasn’t projected, something have made it later.
Little by little, Percival rotated on the ledge of the area, changing his point of view. The place seemed like a dome-room like temple, enormous. Like a small mount was hollowed, the people that did it made an impressive job. Sadly, he didn’t glimpse any way to go down looking at the area until he reached a broken part, taking a look down it seemed he could jump to the next ledge that way, not seeing a better way that is just what he did.
The ledges were old but sturdy enough, if not by the vibrations. The only saving grace was how large they were. Percival had to use the dome wall multiple times to regain his foot, and it only got worse as he went down. The ledges got more broken, but not by much, showing how sturdy where this gray materials, the first thought is that the age and the vibrations were the responsible for the damage.
That changed as he got in the middle of the way, marks of claws, what to be appeared weapon slashes and dozen of perforations marked the ledge and wall, a giant battle took place, he would get more information when he got to the floor. As he did, more and more of the scene he saw showed again, although, with a difference, there were signals of burning and liquifying of the grey material. Some other damages could be seen, but he had no idea what it was.
In the end the ledges were no more, just some parts of it broken still where there, Percival had to jump from one to another, even climbing to try to get down, without alerting anything of his presence, in the penultimate he lost his foot because of the vibration, trying to find purchase was fruitless, he started falling down. Panicking, he tried to use his gloves to diminish the impact of his fall, but he couldn’t even leave a mark. Before reaching the floor, he found a plant in a crevice. Using all his force and dexterity, he managed to pull him near the plant.

The plant was strong, supporting the weight of his body. Some soil fell on him, but now he had distance enough to do a short jump with little noise. He pulled and fell on his target, a long red grass. Down there, it was like another place. Various derelict pieces of the gray material could be seen, most already being covered by plants and moss. The soil seemed a mix of debris and dead matter.
Looking around, there are various grey mixed with green stones, they had some runic symbols, their size is of a melon, they are all over the place, from all the thing here, they were the ones that vibrated the most, like in some kind of resonance, not trying to make any sudden changes, he just left them and walked around their periphery.
Reaching the tube thing, it seemed to have at least 25 meters of height, all its body have a dark tone of jade and dark grey. The vibration seemed to be produced from inside the thing; the runes illuminated in different ways as it vibrated, like some kind of code. That wasn’t the only thing, though. Getting near it, Percival saw the reality seemed to bend around the runes, similar to how the harvest process was with Roberion, but this one seemed more subtle, refined, different to the raw method of the system.
Percival then did a walk around the tube, finally reaching an end. There, the tube seemed to end with spherical orbs with a crack in the middle and various holes around it. Observing it, Percival got the feeling that this wasn’t a tube, it was something else. Worse of all, the exit of this place seemed to be near the ends of the thing.
One of the exits seemed to be blocked by debris. The size of it was bigger than the tube, probably as 45 meters of height. The only clue on how it looked was the other exit at its side. The exit of it has some debris but seemed climbable. Far inside, someone could see more green lightning and darkness beyond. Percival thought of climbing and trying to reach the exit, but thought better of it.
Going back, he tried to enter the field of vision of Roberion, reaching for it as he started making salutes. Getting the message, Roberion deactivated his dice and activated again. Percival showed up and started retelling his scouting findings. Roberion listened with attention, stopping as he said about the phenomenon of the runes on the tube.
“So you saying that this tube is harvesting something?”
“I don’t know sir, it seemed similar to the harvesting accomplished by the system. Alas, it was more refined, subtle, like a melody’
“That is interesting enough. We should take a look at it and the orbs you saw”
Not wasting time, they got down the same way as Percival, only changing their route at the end of the ledges, where they were almost fully destroyed. Roberion stopped at times to see physically what Percival had said, like the damage to the ledge. Reaching the end. They tried to be as stealthy as possible in their jump. There wasn’t a change in the orbs and the tube, they seemed still in their strange process.
Roberion walked near one of the orbs, their runes were interesting, he couldn’t point it but the objects emanated a similar feeling of the runes engraved of his ring, but this one seemed different, no symbol was the same, even the way of the runes were different, his runes were lines and made almost entirely of triangles, these looked spherical.
Being curious about these eggs, he thought it was better to ask the system. Taking his reservations aside, he felt the warm feeling in his nape. The last words of the system would make him have a change of plans.
“Early-VIII material: fellworm jade eggs nucleus. WARNING: POSSIBLE INCARNATION MATERIAL FOR THE USER.”
“Fellworm?”, Roberion was assaulted by dread and greed, but greed won out. “System, how many eggs do I need?”
“Unknown”
