-Axis!
Mitras couldn't believe it, it was the first time Axis did something like this. He was usually so quiet, he thought he loved being hugged…
-Axis come back!
He wouldn't. So Mitras followed.
-Follow them!
And for some reason the pirate made the other player follow too.
They went down the mineshafts, making turns and choices maybe none of them would do.
It was then Axis stopped at an opening, he led them to a great cavern where you could see crystals and some ores jutting out and suddenly came back to his owner.
-What has happened to you, you're not like that!
Mitras hugged it tight. The strange part was the pirate.
-Show yourself, we know you're here and I sent for reinforcements.
The pirate then took out a flag and put it on the ground.
Jolly Roger Buff activated +1 to skill to all spells
He was ready for a fight and he thought the enemy was here.
He was right.
-You Travellers should never have come to Golari.
A shadow started to move on the ceiling. It felt like it wanted to become tridimensional. Then it dropped.
-This is our land, you disturb it.
The shadow turned into an assassin. Black clothes, hidden face, just the long hair and dark eyes were left out.
-And who are you to tell us what we can and cannot do!
The assassin pounced at the mage player. Mitras however deflected her by throwing Axis. It was a reflex.
He has been fighting so many Chupacabras he got used to their pouncing, doing a Cupid Blow right at their faces.
-I see I have to take care of you first!
That was the beginning of the fight.
The pirate took out a sabre and a pistol, the mage started chanting and Mitras… Mitras danced.
Not to attack this time, but to evade. His skill was just enough to escape some of the assassin's stabs, but as soon as he got level 10 during the fight he spent a skill point.
It was a maddening dance. He had never done PVP and now here he was trying to survive one. He couldn't get the timing to throw Axis at her. He would end up just falling to the ground after being tossed up.
The pirate couldn't shoot or else he could hit Mitras. The mage was a wind mage he tried sending wind blades but the speed at which both assassin and Mitras moved he hit the walls more than anything.
-We're here!
Reinforcements finally arrived.
Many of them were mages and the bombardment started.
Mitras took a few hits but he didn't mind, as long as the assassin was stopped.
-Tch!
She finally gave up and jumped to one end of the cavern.
-This is not the end. Travellers will pay!
She yelled while throwing a bomb down.
When the smoke cleared, a new way was formed. Like she knew there were more paths there.
Some players continued the chase.
Mitras didn't. He was tired.
-That was amazing! She barely hit you!
-I didn't know someone could evade using these kind of movements
The pirate came to him.
-My name is Slapjack, let's be friends!
-Mine is Aero, let's exchange profiles too!
Mitras heart was pounding on his ear, he was tired and at the same time the adrenaline was high. He didn't think much and accepted them.
-I-I'm going up.
-Ah here, I marked the way when we were climbing down the pathways.
The pirate, Slapjack sent him a screenshot of the way they made.
They separated, Mitras going back up, while the two continued chasing. Now that he was walking, it took a long time for him to come up to the city.
After what felt like hours he was back at the adventurers guild and to Capel
-So how was it, fun?
-N-next time, don't push me. I do not like doing these types of things.
-You don't? But you're a Traveller!
-Not all Travellers are alike.
-I see. I apologise then. You are all so excitable I didn't think you'd be different.
-Well… I’m not. Let’s grab our stuff and just go, I need some peace.
-You’ll get nothing but peace at the site.
-Perfect.
The site was left as it was before and it seemed like no one had moved or messed anything up.
-So here is what we’re going to do…
Mitras had to catalogue everything they found, Capel had bought a Notebook for that. There was the job of digging and cleaning that both of them would do. After Capel learnt that Mitras could draw, he asked him to draw the parts of the altar they found too.
It was tedious work that took a long time to find little, but he did get a skill.
Acquire Archeology Kit skill
He asked about the kit part and Capel was impressed. Apparently some skills were an amalgamation of several, which Archeology is apparently one of them. It took a lot of care for the skill, especially after he got it.
During the day was archeology work, at night, Capel would review what they did and what they found and then sleep.
Mitras couldn’t lie, he wanted to sleep with Bjarke, his warmth was just what he needed. So at night he meditated.
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
Days passed and then weeks.
The altar showed itself up, but the more they dug, the more it felt like there was to dig.
It started as an altar, but then it became a little ziggurat, a truly small one, with one entrance. Before going in they decided to find the end of the ziggurat and one more week passed by.
He was missing Bjarke, a lot. The touches, the kisses, the warmth. He had been alone for so long, now he had someone to be with and to come back to.
Fayt had sent 5 gold every week to them, so they would come back to the city once a week for water and ration and go back to work. He also sent him a message that the HQ was ready, Otto and Grant had finished the design and the furniture. The workshop was a beauty and Winnie was already doing their armor and weapons, she was just waiting for him so they could collaborate to make the staves.
The ziggurat was finalized. It was a cute, small thing with a stone entrance. They spent just a few days digging it when they received the message.
Level 50 Dungeon - Night’s Embrace Can’t enter requirements not met
He didn’t think twice and sent Fayt a message.
-Stay there! We’re coming! Don’t let anyone know or enter!
And so the guard started. Which was boring, there were no monsters, no players, just them. Capel continued his research to see if he could figure out what would be inside. Mitras meditated.
It took a day for the Guild to appear.
-Did someone enter?! Are we late?!
-No, nothing like that happened, it was just the two of us here.
-Great! Are you ready?
-M-me? I can’t enter, I'm at a low level.
-In a party it doesn't matter, so come on, let’s go.
Mitras couldn’t say he wanted to go back to Bjarke and he was tired, because he also was very curious about the Dungeon. So he went with the group.
-Okay, Tagmar and I at the front, Mitras you’re in the middle, Tasha, Beary at the back.
The dungeon was linear, a very simple one, but the monsters…
-Don’t let it go behind the lines!
-Careful with the bandages!
-He is jumping, scatter!
-Cheer!
Cheer Buff activated +1 to skills to all spells
There were Mummies Chupacabras. They could elongate their members and neck through their bandages, and their pounce skill had become a jump skill. And they were huge. About twice their size.
They fought against five of these, one at a time, two in the last fight. They had to stop and refresh every other fight.
Now, now they were at an arc that got them to a room, a big room, clearly a boss room.
-It must be like a mother Chupacabra with little ones.
-No, it's the father, a gigantic one full of muscle.
Beary and Tasha were nervously talking about what it might be.
-Whatever it might be it will be hard, but if we finish it and clear the dungeon, we can grab it to the guild. And then we’ll get reputation whenever another group finishes it.
-This will be good, reputation through quest is so stingy.
-Are you all ready?
-Yeah!
-Yup.
-Y-yes
…So they entered the room.
-Oh, how long has it been since I last ate supper?
A feminine voice came from over us.
-Let’s see if the entertainment is satisfactory though.
A huge bat swooped down at us, it twirled and unfurled into a beautiful man with bat wings.
-Let’s start shall we?
The battle was a mess. The boss could fly so he would attack whoever he wanted, whenever he wanted. The only ones he couldn’t get a hit were Tagmar and Mitras. One was the tank and his Shield skill should be high, the other had high Dance and Evasion skill.
They lowered the boss's health little by little. It was at 50% percent that thing got crazier.
-5 against one is just not fair, how about a change of heart?
He sent a kiss to Tagmar and suddenly he was at Mitras face.
-He has a Charm spell!
He used a total of four times the same spell, and all of these times Tagmar was the target and Mitras was Tagmar’s target.
Beary was definitely the MVP of the fight, she would cast healing and regen spells at the right times and maintained her MP throughout the whole fight.
-Gods, How I hate the warm blooded, but they are so delicious…
With that, it was over.
After the boss ended, an opening started to appear at the room and in it a little altar with a dagger on it.
Dagger of the Night’s Embrace Give a sacrifice and receive a blessing
-What kind of sacrifice?
-Our lives?
-Probably our blood, it’s a bloodsucking dungeon.
Tagmar went to Mitras, taking off his helmet.
-Are you okay?
He was of asian descent and had a very handsome descent, and by the size of the armor, he was thick. Mitras’ type.
Where did that thought come from?
-Y-yeah, don’t worry, it was a Charm spell.
-I know but I couldn’t control myself, sorry.
He looked like a puppy, cute.
Blushes.
-I kn-know, don’t worry.
-Ok, just to make sure.
He put his hand on my shoulder and squeezed it.
Gods I miss touch.
-Okay everybody, let’s all give some of our blood!
What?
-Come here all, it’s decided, it’s a bloodsucking dungeon so it needs blood.
Each one gave about 5 HP of blood.
Blessing of the Night +10% xp during the night
-Nice!
-Ooh.
-That’s good.
-But what should we do with it now?
-I-I say give to Capel, if it wasn't for him, we would never find this dungeon.
-Hmmm.
Fayt seemed hesitant.
-P-please?
-Fine!
We all got out of the dungeon and found Capel outside. He was exhilarated with our findings and when we showed the dagger he almost fainted.
-Are you sure? It’s mine?
-Yeah, Mitras convinced me, not that it was hard.
-T-thank you! Thank you! Thank you! If I ever find another site I’ll be sure to notify you!
-Yes please!
The dagger ended up in a little museum in Ezca, it had only the dagger now and the findings of Capel, telling the story of the city's last habitants and their summonings. The Guild got big Reputation with Ezca, the dagger would give a smaller blessing to anyone who gave 10 HP worth of blood.
Capel went to look for other places to dig.
-Y-you know, we could be a Guild that ruled over a region. We did get a good reputation with Ezca.
Fayt's eyes bulged.
-And we do have a good reputation at the Scrapyard! Good one Mitras, there is still the Tower of Leiles to get Reputation with, but that’s in the sea, we should try it! I can imagine it, the Sunstar guild ruling the coastal area of the Andras Kingdom…
