-Thank you…
-No need for that, you're a nice kid, you gotta get these things. Now, Ezca, differently than Tario, is a mining town. It's near some ruins that had this big deposit of different metals. So there's some rough people there, you know, miners. Be careful, ok?
-O-ok
-Here's the envelope, just take it to the adventurers guild over there, they'll know what to do.
-Ok!
Looking over the map, it's quite some time to Ezca.
-Browser.
And it seems it's near level 30 monsters. So I'll need to spend a long time there, not only to level but to wait for the candidate to appear.
He will need to tell Bjarke, so he doesn't worry.
Blushes.
Mitras actually have someone to say he's going out, and to come back to.
First he needed to see if he's ready. He didn't need to change much in his backpack, but he needed rations. Luckily he had 2 silver, so he could buy a few.
Packing everything he got ready to go. Stopping at the gate to talk to Bjarke….
-H-hi
-Did you come to see me?
Bjarke came and held his hand. Mitras loved how much Bjarke touched him.
-I-I got a quest…
-Ok.
-I'm going to Ezca.
-Be careful ok?
-O-Ok, I'll be back. I promise.
-I know.
Mitras couldn't look him in the eyes, but at the last second he looked up and saw Bjarke smiling. He tiptoed closer and gave a kiss.
-Ok bye.
Only Bjarke's laugh could be heard while he ran away.
Ezca was to the Northwest of Tairo. He had to go through the beast's pathway to get there.
The higher level monsters in the best pathway were easy to deal with, there was this fluffy sheep called Cleep and a feline called Sabline.
Cleeps only had to be hit on the head, as their fur was so fluffy it would resist most damage. Sabline were fast, but Vinners had faster attacks and the fact I had the Balance and Evasion skill meant I'm quite hard to hit.
The one problem with the fight was… The onlookers. It was daytime, so there were a lot of people farming and levelling. Doing the routines to fight was so embarrassing.
Mitras wanted to put his head under the earth and hide.
As the monsters weren't really that high level I sped through them.
It was the fourth area that problems arose.
-Where are you…?
The monster here is called chupacabra. An ugly evil creature that sucked on and killed Cleeps. They would hide in bushes and on top of trees and ambush players and creatures alike.
It was so bad Mitras even got a skill.
Adquire Spot untrained skill
He bets archers love this one. Unfortunately it was a bad place to farm. The creatures gave good xp, but there was no river close by, they drank blood.
So Mitras passed by this area marking it, so he could come back to train. He continued through the thick forest until an opening appeared.
The first thing he saw was a pyramid, but not like the famous one, more like the southerners ones. Getting closer he saw a high wall, at least three times him.
He went around it and soon found an opening, the town's entrance. It was inside the pyramid.
-Halt! Who goes there?
Oh yeah, Stealth skill, but he found me so far away.
-S-sorry, I'm an adventurer. I came in oficial business to this branch of the adventurers guild.
-You're going to have to show some proof.
Hoping the envelope is enough, Mitras shows him it.
Now that things calmed down and one of the guards is looking through the envelope contents… The guards' uniforms here are a bit different than in Tairo. It's way inside the forest and they show more skin, there some tattoos too geometric shapes snaking around their bodies.
Maybe Bjarke could get some tattoos too, he would look more wild.
Blushes.
-Yeah okay, everything is in order. Just continue down the path here, the adventurers guild is on the base floor. There will be a plaque to show you it's the right place.
-Thank you!
Walking in Ezca was different, the sights, the clothes, even the way they sell things, it would be on the first floor of the pyramids, but there was no stand, things were put on the floor, over a nice blanket.
The adventurers guild was in the centre of the main walk-a-way of the pyramid.
-H-hello?
The guild was not very full, but it must be because it's the second town, not many people here yet or maybe already gone.
-Yes, just a minute.
A sharp looking woman answered.
It really took one minute.
-How can I help you?
-A-ah here.
Giving the envelope, Mitras waited for her to read it, playing with Axis feelers for a while.
-A coastal city really is different huh? Okay I'll open the job here. I don't think it's gonna take a while, but it can take up to a week. Are you up for the wait?
-Y-yes.
-Okay.
Signing a few documents was all it needed, Mitras was free to see the town. So he did.
He walked around, he couldn't go above the third floor because it was residential and he didn't know anyone. But he went through all the main walk-a-ways of the pyramid.
There were some nifty entrances in some parts that led to the underground, that's where the mine was, underneath the pyramid. It was really cool.
But walking was all he did, he only had a silver in his name.
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
-Ah
The adventurers guild must have quests and a butcher.
Back he went there.
-Cleeps, Sablines and Chupacabras, nice, give me a min and I'll have your money.
Now Mitras had 1 gold and 1 silver.
He started looking at the jobs posted and one caught his attention. Apparently there are many ruins near the city and there is a new excavation site being developed, it called for people who would like to help, be it by protection or finding stuff, even funding.
-H-hi miss?
-Yuka.
-Miss Yuka, I'd like this one.
-Hmm, ok it's good to get a quest now as you wait for someone to answer the call.
-Y-yeah.
He did his due diligence, signing what he had and quickly he was on the way to the site.
-This is so boring, there is no one here, no one cares about these things.
-Stop it Dido, it's not like that.
-But it is, I know you love it, But even Travellers don't care about it, maybe if you found something.
-Someone will show up.
-Even my sister can't get a job, no one wants an apprentice. Gods, this town is dying…
-Don't say that, it's bad luck.
It appears there are people on the site.
-H-hello.
Their heads whipped at the same time.
-See I told you.
-Heh maybe I was wrong.
-H-hi, I saw the job posted, I-I actually have an archeologist kit.
The man was scrawny, and seemed to need to eat more, but had a handsome face with blonde hair framing it. The woman was tomboyish even in clothes with the sleeves turned up and fanning herself.
-Well what's your name?
-My name's Mitras.
-I'm so happy someone came, our lands have so much history, but everyone just cares for the mines.
-W-well I have a week to help.
-Oh, just one week…
-Told you nobody would come.
-I-I can come back, but I have to escort someone back to Tairo in about a week.
-Watcha talking about.
And so Mitras told his story.
-Heh, I might get that job.
-You're going to leave me?!
-Well I just come here because we're friends, I still need money yanno?!
-But what about history?
-I don't really care…
-At least call your sister, she's not working anyway, she could help.
-She's a blacksmith, why would she look for rocks?
The argument continued and it seemed like it would never end, but it was at this time that Mitras got a message.
-We did it! We have a HQ!
-H-huh?
-The HQ, we got the money, we hunted so many monsters and sold everything. We couldn't even go to dungeons because the bigger guilds had got them. Such a hard task but we did it!
-Congratulations Fayt.
-That's for you too, we can have a workshop, now I just need a blacksmith.
Ah.
-Actually, how do you feel about golarins?
-What about it?
And so, once again, Mitras told his story.
-We're coming there! Don't leave! Call the sister!
-O-ok.
The argument between the two was over now they were looking at Mitras.
-Travellers get all woozy sometimes huh.
-They say they can talk to each other from far away.
-Heeh that's nice, I'd like that.
-H-hi…
-Yes.
-Yes?
-So here is the deal. I have a Guild .
-Ohhh nice one
-Really big.
-N-not really, but we need a blacksmith. And we thought of calling your sister. In exchange I can help on the site till it's over. The Guild will pay the dues for the excavation.
-Woooow nice catch Capel!
-I didn't catch anyone!
-S-so?
-Accept it Capel!
-Ok! Ok! Well I wasn't going anywhere anyway, no one wants to learn about a dozen skills to find history.
-D-dozen?!
-Thank you Mitras, I swear I won't disappoint.
-Neither do I neither do I!
-O-ok, my guildmates are coming here, Dido, can you call your sister?
-Sure can, boss!
Capel and Mitras waited about 30 minutes for Dido to come back with her sister Winnie and Mitras reiterated his story to her.
Winnie was happy as a clam. She couldn't find a job in Ezca even though she had Blacksmithing Trained.
They talked a bit about the site while waiting…
-So I've been an archeologist since I was a kid.
-He means he had the skill since he was a kid, he loved digging stuff and one day he found this bone dagger on the ground and he got the skill.
-It wasn't anything noteworthy, it was just a dagger someone forgot a few years ago, but ever since that day I've been training the skill. I'm even a master at it!
-Shh you don't say these things!
-But Dido, Mitras is okay, aren't you Mitras?
-Y-yeah, I won't tell anyone.
-This site is an old site, do you see that bump over there?
-Yes.
-It's actually an altar, the tip of one…
The civilization before the Andras Kingdom was a warlike one, who made sacrifices to summon things from the beyond to fight. And this altar, Capel thinks, is one use for that.
He isn't sure, of course. Despite being a master, he still needs help cleaning and digging and finding and cataloguing and a series of other things. That's what Mitras would help with.
It was during the conversation…
-Mitraaas! Miiiitras!
-A-ah, they should be my guildmates.
Tagmar, Beary, Tasha and Fayt encounter them.
-Thank goodness for the mini map.
-Yeah, it would take days to find this place.
-Gods it's hot here.
-So are these the ones?
They all presented themselves and Fayt made the official invite.
-We just got the HQ so the workshop is empty, but Winnie, would you like to be part of the guild?
-As long as I can do my blacksmithing, yes.
-Woohoo!
-We should go to Tairo now!
-W-wait, lemme finish my quest.
-Oh yeah
-M-mister Capel, are you going to stay here?
-I'm going back to town. When you come back you can find me at the adventurers guild is that okay?
-P-perfect.
They arranged their things and all of them started to go to Ezca.
There, the documents were finished, signed and delivered, and Sunstar Guild made the escort mission back to both Dido and Winnie. Getting a new receptionist for the city and a blacksmith for the Guild.
