How to make textile from plants…

-Hmmm it's something that will take a while. Otto only opens during the day and at night I should go get more vines on the glade for the clothes.

Going to Otto's Workshop in the morning. I needed to make sure if he was okay with me using his workshop as I am doing.

-Hello Otto, I have another big project, is it okay to use the workshop?

-I told you you already it's okay didn't I, muuu don't you believe me?

-N-no, it's because it's quite big and I'll use a lot and all. S-so anyway, do you have a spinner?

-Oohhh making some threads are we? Nice, unfortunately I don't, But I know a woodworker who can do one for you pretty fast.

-Really? You saved me.

-Now now, don't be like that, go to this place here, talk to Grant, he's the one who can make it for you.

-Okay!

The location Otto gave was very easy to find, it was closer to the north part of the town, close to the forest. It was quite a big workshop.

-H-hello?

And loud. There were about 5 people doing all kinds of sawing, sanding, cutting and what else.

-H-hello…?

No one will listen this way.

-Grant? Grant?! GRANT?!

-Damn lad no need to yell

One of the burly men answered, he had a full face of beard and was all ready to work.

-S-sorry, I…

-Just say what you want, we have a back log to go through.

-S-so Otto sen-

-Otto? Did he say something?

-He sent me here.

-Did he send something?

-N-no, sorry he sent me to get some help…

-Oh, so did he say something about me? Is he coming by? Is he okay, he is always doing his things.

-He told me to talk to you.

-Hehe of course he did.

-I need a spinner actually, he said you could do one pretty fast.

-Of course I can, anything for him. So… A spinner eh… That will be, let's see. Three gold.

Urgh right at the pockets

-Tw-two- Okay…

-Good. Thank you for your business. It will be ready tomorrow. And you know, tell Otto I'm here, you know.

I've never seen someone blush through his beard, it's cute.

-O-okay, I definitely will.

-T-thank you, gonna do a great spinner.

Back at Otto's place, again.

-I did it!

-See, told you it would be easy.

-A-and you know, Grant said for you to go there sometime, maybe you should talk to him. I think he likes you.

-W-what?! Oh him, I swear. Married for 10 years and still doing these childish things. I will talk to him for sure.

-Y-you're married?!

-Well yes, honey.

-With a guy? You can do that?

-Of course you, why couldn't you?

-O-oh, where I'm from some places can't…

-Really? Muuuhh you're plane sounds horrible.

-Y-yeah, it is sometimes…

-But enough of that, go do your things, big project remember?

-R-right, okay.

In the workshop Mitras looked for the biggest basin he could find and started putting the vines in it. After putting what he thought was enough, it was time to start filling eith boiling water.

The process was simple, he needed to separate the fibres of the vines, for that he would soften them up with boiling water.

After boiling then he had… Boiled vines, the fibres were destroyed.

-Browser!

He found another type of way to get fibres from plants.

First he manually broke apart the vines, trying to leave parts as thin as possible. Then he got a bone knife, usually used for paper, and started scraping what he had.

He got some fibres!

Doing that with the remaining vines, he was ready for the next step. But it was late at night already and Otto had to close.

He went out to the glade to get more vines and meditate. When the moon would start to go down he would go back to the city, still at night, take a bath and it would be time for Otto opening.

Repeating the process with the new vines, he then started washing the fibres, to get the gum out of it.

After washing it all he left them to dry.

It was late afternoon, time to get the spinner.

At the woodworking workshop, Grant was shining the spinner.

-Heey newbie, how's hubbie?

-H-he's fine.

-Sorry about that, had to mess with the new guy, he almost never gets one.

-I-It's okay, it was sweet.

-You know, I am sweet. Here's the spinner, the beauty, nothing automated, just for a handicrafter.

-Ah.

-Yeah, next time you gotta remember that.

-T-thank you.

-No worries, here it is.

-Thank you, again.

Grant taught him how the spinner worked and how he should be careful and when he finished it, it was already night.

And so it began a new routine.

Part of the night getting vines and meditating.

The day used to make threads.

He got to make a few mountains of fibres before he tried spinning.

-Browser.

He watched a video of an Irish guy teaching how you spin, and what to do if you break the fibre.

It took a week of this routine but he got enough threads to make two sets of clothes and there is still some to do extra.

Mitras was very happy with the result. He has never done something so…. So… handicrafty in his life. It felt good, next time he will put a pink ribbon to show he's unmarried.

Blushes.

Now that he had the threads all ready to be turned into cloth, he needed to call the girls to take measurements and ask what they would like.

He needed to make the colours to dye the threads too.

Should he just send them a message? Can he do that? Fayt does it, but it's Fayt, should he send Fayt a message first asking if he can send a message to them? What if he says he doesn't know? He probably won't say no, right? Right?

Mitras brain was melting.

He started to pace around the workshop.

He didn't know what to do…

Oh just do it!

Do it!

DO

IT

!

-Hi Beary, are you with Tasha?

Please don't answer, please don't answer, or answer who knows what's best.

-Hi Mitras!! Yeah we're grinding and farming what's up?

-S-so, could you come to the city? I need your measurements.

-Aaaaaahhhhh! New clothes! I love it! Ta-

It appears she is talking to Tasha now.

-Do we choose or you choose?

It was Tasha.

-W-what do you mean?

-Can we choose how it looks?

-Y-yeah of course, oh also the colour, you need to tell so I can dye the threads.

-Yes! Perfect.

I could imagine her doing a winning pose.

-We're coming, send the location.

-We're coming!

It didn't take twenty minutes for them to get to Otto's place. Beary was hyperventilating. Tasha was trying to play it cool.

-We're here.

-Here.

-O-ok, let's go to the workshop and start with the measurements, also if you have any styles you want or specific clothes then you can send me the link or the photo, also the colours.

Both of them were very different, Beary loved anime so she wanted out of the weary medieval robes and into the cleric anime girl clothes. Tasha loved medieval media, so she chose something a certain fire keeper wore.

I needed black, blue and white.

The fibres were white so that's okay. Blue and black….

-Otto, to dye the threads, can I buy the dye?

-You can, and sometimes I do that, but making it raises your skill so much more.

-Okay… Browser!

Black can be made with the roots of some plants and blue with blueberries. Perfect.

So it started another week of finding the materials, although they were very easy to find, then boiling the threads with the materials to dye them.

Once again he entered the Handicraft state, this time with knitting! He hand knitted both their clothes, together with gloves. Beary got short gloves and Tasha long gloves.

Because Tasha liked Weary Souls, he made a veil she could use. For Beary, an anime fanatic, he made a big blue ribbon she could wear in front of her robes.

Not wanting to finish with just that, he went to Grant to get a few wood scraps and formed sole shapes, knitting then glueing, creating boots for both of them. The inside part was made with Crystal Gecko skin to soften them, so it doesn't hurt their feet when they run or even walk.

When he made his set, he also made jewelry. So he used the last of his money to buy silver threads from Otto and made a crocheted mask for Tasha, then oxidized it so it would darken to go with the clothes and for Beary he crocheted a tiara and put a crystal on it.

Blueprint for Souls-like Nymph adquire

Blueprint for Little Angel Nymph adquire

Hm.. The Nymph part must be because of the material used.

The whole process was great. It had good and bads, he learned a lot and did a lot, but now… The clients.

-Aaaaaahhh!

-Perfection…

I think they like it.

-Mine raises Light Magic and Mana Manipulation for my skills! As well as a little MP.

-Mine raises a lot of Mana Manipulation as well as MP and a little Fire Magic.

-Thank you Mitras!

-Thank you Mitras.

-N-no, problem, we're a guild now aren't we?

The both of them came for a hug, and Mitras had no response except to blush and be distraught.

-The boys are gonna be so jealous, Fayt hasn't found a blacksmith yet.

-O-oh that's sad.

-No worries, we're hoarding money for the HQ and we're already thinking of your workshop.

-M-my workshop?

-Yeah, of course! Our own crafter needs to have a workshop doesn't he?

-I g-guess so. Thank you.

-Now, let's go show the boys our new looks.

The girls came like a hurricane and soon went away like one.

-Nice friends you have.

-Thanks Otto.

-Why thank me, you…

-S-sorry

-Haah you…

To think, one day Mitras would have his own workshop. This hasn't even passed through his head before. He needs to think about what he would need. Maybe Otto will help out. He definitely will.

Would it be expensive?

-Otto?

-Yes?

-How much would it cost to make a workshop?

-Oh my, thinking ahead I see. Hmmm, I think It would be… HmmmHmmm I need time. I need to see what I have, what I still need, maybe see storage. Then I can give you a number.

-Would you help me?

-Help my own student build his own workshop? Of course I would!

-You're the best Otto.

Mitras did then, what he said he would do. He logged off and took care of the house.

Like, really took care of it. He deep cleaned it, had to throw away some vegetables and saw what was missing.

It took a whole day, 4 in game days. But it was good that he did it. It needed to be done or else everything would fall apart, and that, that is the last thing he'd want to happen.

Logging back in he stretched and went to the guild. Maybe there would be something for him there.

Mitras is getting used to the crowd, which is something to be very proud of. Looking around the jobs posted, nothing made him excited. He wasn't a monster hunter per se. Maybe he should open a store and sell his stuff. But even that must cost money.

What to do, what to do?

-Mitras… Mitras!

Looking around, Ella is calling to him.

-Yes? M-me?

-Just a minute, we really need more receptionists.

Mitras went to the side and waited for the line to end. It took a few minutes but it ended eventually.

-Oof finally, gonna complain to the boss. So we have actually a mission for you. Well not for you, someone asked you in specific.

-M-me?!

-Yup, lemme get the details.

-O-ok.

-Here it is.

Patroklos of all the people he has known actually asked him specifically to help him out. It was an escort mission through the forest. He wanted to meet in the morning when his work would end, he would be ready by then.

It seemed pretty straight forward, so it was accepted.

Quest: Wisdom of Earth

Well, that didn't seem simple. Mitras reread the mission. Nothing changed, just a simple escort mission.

I hope it stays that way.

Oh no did I just jinx it?
