-Mom, mooom seeee he has one!
-Yeah he can get us one, fo surre!
Mitras was leaving the adventurers guild, he was happy for what happened, but he still didn't have the resistance to stay there too long. So he left Fayt and friends talking logistics for the guild and left. He already had some work for the guild anyway.
-Go, talk to hiiimmm gooo.
-Go go go.
-Okay okay, calm down you two. Hu uh… Excuse me?
Was that for Mitras? He looked around first.
-Yes my dear, you.
-Yeah you.
-Yeah!
The woman was tired, that's the first thought that came to mind. She had short black hair and despite wearing simple garments, they were very well put together.
Together with her were two kids. A girl and a boy, both with orange hair. Both with robes, the boy with a blue one and the girl with a purple one.
-O-oh, how can I help you?
-Is that your pet? The one you're holding?
-You mean Axis? Not a pet, a tame actually.
-Oh thank god.
-See I told you.
-He did!
She seemed very relieved.
-You see my name is Daria and my two rascals here would like a special kind of pet, but only someone with the Tame skill can get them. We did find a few in town, but none wanted the quest when we couldn't give a proper reward.
-And then we saw you!
-Yeah and you had to had the Tame skill
-I-I see.
Maybe it's because Mitras is always holding Axis, it's easy to see it.
-W-well, I don't mind helping, s-so what would the reward be?
-My husband was an archeologist, but he died a long time ago. We've been keeping his kit this whole time, but we don't really use it. That's the reward.
-And I guess it doesn't come with the skill right?
-No, it doesn't… if you can't get the quest that's ok, I understand.
-N-no no, I don't mind, hmmm let's go somewhere else and talk more.
Mitras never did look for one, but this time he looked around for a cafe or someplace they could sit and talk.
-S-so, tell me more about these pets.
–They are called Miry, they are plant elementals that live deep in the forest of Tairo. They look like mice, but because they are elementals they take the form of plants. In this case of berries.
The kids were playing with Axis, while Daria and Mitras talked and looked over them.
-And no one wants the quest because they are very rare and the reward.
-I don't know if they are that rare, but my kids want specific berries, so it makes them very rare haaah…
-O-ok, then, I don't mind getting the quest.
-Really?
-Y-yeah, but we have to go through the guild, so everything is oficial.
-I have no problem with that.
Mitras let her finish her tea, but soon they were back at the guild. The kids holding and massaging Axis, while the two adults waited in the line.
-H-hello Ella, we'd like to register a quest and also that I get that quest.
-Oooh that's nice, personal quest. To register a quest we need the quest giver information.
Ella gives Daria a document.
-This is so we know who is asking and if we get any bad review we can mark up the quest giver so it's passed around, not only to other guilds, but there will be a mark of unreliableness on the quest.
-W-wow
-I know! Now I will give you the document for the quest, put the basic information about it, as well as the reward, this one will stay in the guild register and we'll make a second one to put on the postings wall, there anyone can see and grab it. In this case we won't do that. Oh, later do bring the reward, it stays with the guild, this way it's safer for the adventurers.
Giving Mitras the same document as before, she confirmed he got the quest and gave him the proof.
Quest: Get me those mice
-So now everything is ready, I imagine you two talked about the quest already, so this part is over, and it's time for adventure!
-T-thank you Ella.
-Thank you.
Out of the guild they find themselves at the same place as they did when they met.
-Ok, I will get my husband's kit and bring it to the guild.
-And I will start looking for Mirys. By the way, what berries do you want?
-Strawberry!
-Blackberry!

-Good, I'll look for them.
Saying goodbye and getting Axis back, Mitras went around looking for a map. Yes a map, something so simple in videogames that he hasn't used yet. He was only on the first part of the forest, so it was easy to get in and out, but now he had to go deeper.
A map should be in a cartographer store or a general store right?
-Browser?
Is there even something like a cartographer store?
-I see a few general stores, I'll look in them.
There were 3 in total. In the second one he found a map of the town and the forest around, as well as the third, but it would be 3 gold in total to buy the map, his treasure is slowly dwindling. He needs to find a way to get currency, be it gold or silver.
Mitras is learning a lot of the game, with the map in hand and only 1 gold and 7 silver, he remembered how he had to use mana to have an inventory.
How about a mini map?
Back at Otto's place. He really needed his own. He spread the map on the table and let the mana ants wander around the map, as if truly walking the earth of Golari.
It took a while, he wanted to be sure to have gotten everything. It took almost a hour but now he definitely had a mini map on his side vision, he only needed to focus on it, and it would pop out.
-Browser!
He now looked at info other players had written. Miry were elementals deep in the forest. So he looked for information about mice and elementals.
He found that going after certain monsters in the first part of the forest sends you to different paths. By following rabittes, you'll get more beast type monsters, the baby wolves were actually wargs and you'll end up beating goblins, while the geckos were more of the magical elemental variety.
He had his road ahead then.
He prepared again, bought ration, took a bath, this night he would go out and hunt. He would go past the geckos and see what was behind them.
----------------------------------------
It was night, and he was back at the geckos. They were taking a moonlight bath and their crystal shone like a rainbow.
Breathe in, breathe out. The tutorial is over, these monsters were easy, barely moved and attacked, and died in one attack. But it won't be like this anymore.
Geckos like more humid places, dark humid places, so there would be a river or some kind of water source nearby.
He needs to find it and follow it.
And find he did, a small stream going around rocks and fallen trees, nothing major or strong, but enough.
He followed, using his Stealth skill, looking around, every nook and corner. Taking care to not be ambushed
Adquire Scout skill
He was rewarded for his cautiousness.
It took maybe half an hour, but he started to see signs of disturbance, probably thanks to his rising Scout skill.
He followed it and saw a very disturbing sight. A spindly gangly mess of vines, moving, almost madly dancing, around the forest.
-Identify.
He whispered
Vinnler lvl 5
It was definitely a monster. And it will be the first one he will kill.
Slowly he stretched from his position, probably raising the monster's alarm. Like a volleyball pro he threw Axis up and with a spin positioned his arms like a L, one to catch Axis the other to use inertia to send it to the monster.
-Cupid Blow!
Axis shot through and hit the target, but different from what they imagined it was still healthy.
The monster didn't let it be. It closed the gap and used its vine to slash at Mitras.
But he was ready, his form was not static, impossible to move from, it was a part of a set, a set he practised both in the game and watching the championships.
With a simple move of his arm and relaxing of one leg he could use centrifugal force to twirl and enter another form.
And so he did. Form after form, slash after slash.
Mitras would lower his body and let Axis climb him through his leg or arm and continue twirling.
The twirling was important, it was what gave force to the throws and to Axis.
It didn't take long for the monster to fall, but to Mitras it was the first time he actually had a “partner” in dance, so it felt like it lasted hours.
Breathe in, breathe out, slowly, let it sink in.
The night was young, and the hunt was on.
----------------------------------------
Mitras found another type of enemy, a wood/plant type too, but this time it looked like a tree stump.
It was slow, slower than Vinners, so he could back off while dancing to hit it. In comparison it had much more HP, it took 5 hits to kill it.
On the third Vinner, Mitras remembered one old quest, Find the Vine. He started getting and hunting Vinners in gusto, maybe this is the vine Otto said it.
Mitras was a grind boy, he loved finding one place and just grinding his life away there. So that's what he did, up till level 10 and the morning he was there killing Vinner and the stumpy Boryes.
It was when he dinged level 10 that he got a nice reward. He got 2 skill points instead of 1. That made things easier to level.
He will need to think about what skills to level.
He continued on after eating some rations.
The forest became humid, very humid and hot. He started breathing hard, and his footing was not the best.
His fighting would deteriorate a lot here.
But he continued on, with his Stealth and new Scout skill.
He felt it this time., the weight of the enemy walking.
He followed and saw it.
A turtle, made of rock.
Could he fight it.
-Identify…
Tortle lvl 15
It was way higher level than him. But he was good at evading, even if he didn't have a skill for it.
-Should I go for it? I can't only fight things at my level, at one point there will only be things higher level than me, that's how it goes.
Breathe in, breathe out.
Form ready.
Throw.
-Cupid blow.
The monster was slow, very slow. But he had the highest defence Mitras could imagine.
-Of course, he's a turtle.
The battle surprisingly didn't last long.
The footing didn't help Mitras as he had thought so, and the hot air didn't help.
Tortle soon got to him and in one fell swoop he died.
