It was evening when they arrived, they were exhausted, and everyone went home. When the door opened, Elise looked anxiously in the direction of the door.
When she saw that her husband and nephew were safe and sound, she cried and hugged them.
She had one arm around her husband's neck and one arm around her nephew's waist. "Where have you been, where have you been?" she cried.
Danny went up to his room like a half-dead corpse and threw himself on the giant bed he loved so much.
Elise turned to Hank. "What happened?" Hank began to tell him what had happened.
Daniel and Danny, both very tired, slept all day. The body had not only gained special powers with the body tiering, but the body, which was already incredibly strong, had become even stronger.
That's how Danny was able to carry a load all the way back to the village despite his burns.
While they slept, Hank sent a hunter from the village to find the bandits. Finding the bodies of the bandits and a half-dead Nate, the hunter returned to the village dragging Nate on a stretcher.
The hunter said, "You should have seen it, Hank, it was horrible. Their heads were severed, and one of them was sliced right down the middle. The bandit chief was burned. My guess is someone who can use force must have gotten them."
After Danny fell asleep, Hank saw Danny's burns he kept the burn marks to himself. His head was full of thoughts: 'What happened to pure and innocent Danny? Where did those burns come from?'
The whole village had heard what Nate had done. He was dying, and no one helped him, especially his family. Hank took Nate home for questioning. He bought a concoction from the village herbalist to sober Nate up. He sat Nate on a chair in the woodshed of the house and made Nate drink the mixture he mixed with hot water.
This mixture was not a medicine but a stimulant. For a while, it dulled the pain and made him not sleepy.
Nate woke up from the concoction. When he saw Hank standing over him, he grinned. "You played me pretty good, Hank." "What are you talking about, Nate?" Hank asked with a puzzled expression. "I'm talking about the monster you sold us all as harmless." "Oops," he exclaimed, seeing Hank's confusion grow, "that's what happens when you push him too hard.
I thought he'd never fight back.
Hank weighed Nate's words in his mind, "Are you saying that Danny is the one who made you a bloody pulp?" Nate thought for a moment, "Well, whoever broke my legs broke them by hitting me in the calves. He meant to break them because he did it with a blunt metal object. Who could hit with that kind of force?"
Hank asked himself, 'If Danny killed the other thugs, why would he leave Nate alive?' Besides," Nate continued, "he's the one who threw me in with the other bodies."
Danny saw that his burns were healing fast; at this rate, he would be fine in two weeks. Usually, he was a fast healer, but his recovery speed got even quicker after he got his tier.
Daniel had given him the task of being in the village without causing trouble. Danny realized that Daniel could kill him anytime by removing his soul from his body. His mind was working now, and he decided he definitely didn't want to die.
No one was home, his cousins were outside playing snowballs, and his aunt was in the cellar getting supplies. Danny thought his uncle was in the woodshed, and as he got closer, he heard Nate's voice.
Then he heard Daniel's voice in his head. "Danny boy, I'm sorry. I was going to torture the bastard to death in agony, but unfortunately, in all the commotion, I forgot.
I'll tell you what you do now. You wait for your uncle to finish interrogation and come out, then you go inside, cover Nate's mouth and nose and let him suffocate to death."
Danny shuddered; moving bodies was one thing, and turning them into corpses was another. He had never intentionally harmed an animal, let alone a human being.
Danny pleaded, "Daniel, please, I don't want to hurt anyone." Daniel said, "I'm sorry, Danny, but there's no point in keeping you alive if you're no use to me. Remember, your body is mine now. And you lost your body because of your inability to do harm."
Danny sighed and weighed things up in his head. The deal was that Daniel was supposed to protect Danny's family and his other loved ones. But Daniel could do that by locking them in a cell. Being alive was enough for them to be "protected." Danny had seen some of Daniel's memories, though not all of them, and felt some of his feelings.

It was hard to believe, but Daniel had been a very good person in his previous life, but in this one, he was willing to show his true evil nature to the fullest. Danny couldn't understand why a good person would want to be evil. It was good to be good.
Danny sighed and looked at his two cousins playing in the snow. He had to do it for them, 'I'm going to kill a very bad man anyway, and besides, he's going to die anyway. He won't survive with those wounds, ' Danny said to himself.
"Yes, Mr. Daniel, I'll do it." "Danny, you can play with your cousins for half an hour before you do this if you want," Daniel said as he put his hand on the door of the woodshed.
Danny sighed. After his first murder, he would no longer be innocent. He decided that while he was still innocent, he would play the games he had played as an innocent fool the last time.
Danny went home, put on his warm clothes, and came to Eva, five years old, and Sam, seven years old, who was playing in the snow. "Danny, you're awake. Look, look what we've done."
His cheeks were red, his nose was running, and he pointed to a snowman with his gloved hands. Eva opened her arms and waved her hands, which meant she wanted a hug, and Danny easily embraced Eva. Sam saw this and said, "Give me a hug." He took him in his arms too.
Eva pointed her finger at the snowman and said, "Let's go," like a victorious commander. In the little girl's other hand was a conical hat made from a bush. With Danny's help, they easily put it on the snowman's head.
Danny and his cousins played as they always did.
Daniel watched the giant man playing with the little children for half an hour, building snow houses and towers. Seeing Danny, the other village children joined in the fun.
Hank was relieved to see Danny playing with the village children as he always did. It didn't matter what Danny had done. He was still the same old Danny and wouldn't let anyone know how Danny had killed the thugs. It would remain a secret. There was only one problem, Nate.
Hank couldn't brutally kill an unarmed man. Nate had to be put on trial, but the dirty bastard would have made his allegations about Danny known to the whole village in the meantime. He didn't know what to do.
Daniel realized that Hank was watching Danny. He had achieved his goal. Hank thought everything was all right. At the end of the half-hour, Danny returned home to the whimpering that the children didn't want him to leave.
When the kids were distracted by their games, Danny left the house. He went into the woodshed, Nate still tied to the chair. Even though he wasn't secured, his shins were broken, and he couldn't go anywhere.
Nate said, "What are you doing here, you big idiot?" Then there was a groan. Danny had covered Nate's mouth, and nose like Daniel had said. He struggled a little bit, but there wasn't much he could do.
He couldn't make a sound, and Danny was too strong. Danny waited another two minutes to make sure the movements stopped. Then he walked out, leaving the body behind.
Danny felt something die inside him at this first murder. Danny wondered how Daniel felt the first time he killed someone. Daniel used to be a good man; how could he cope with this horrible feeling? How could he not be disgusted with himself?
Daniel responded to the message sent through his thoughts by showing a memory. In this memory, Daniel was an ugly young man of 20 in his old body in his old world.
In his hand was a strange device called a rifle, and he was wearing a suit named camouflage. On his arm was the rank of Sergeant.
They fought in a mountainous area against what they called terrorists. Daniel was very good with the rifle. He shot three of the dead, even though the shootout took place at a hundred and fifty meters. Each time he killed, he did it with great pleasure.
Danny didn't understand; he understood that Daniel was a soldier and had to fight for his country. But if Daniel was a good man, why did he enjoy killing? Even if he had to fight, he didn't understand why he was trying to kill as fast and as much as he could.
Daniel showed Danny how he felt at that moment. He wanted his friends to return to their loved ones alive. He was their commander and he felt responsible for everything that happened to them.
In addition to that, he was not a person who had a problem with killing by nature; on the contrary, he took great pleasure when he caused pain and harm to those he thought deserved it.
After the battle, Danny saw how Daniel walked among the corpses of his enemies with great joy. Then the soldiers were confronted with a terrible sight.
A village full of people had been executed by terrorists. Not even children or old people were spared.
Danny understood why Daniel had no problem killing the so-called terrorists.
Danny said to Daniel, "But what you showed me was not murder. You were doing your duty as a soldier." Daniel said, "Well, if you look at it that way, I haven't committed any murders yet," and grinned.
Danny was heartbroken. He had done what he had to do. But that didn't make it any easier.
As they passed through the village square, Alissa saw Danny and waved; Danny looked toward Alissa. At that moment, Alissa's fourteen-year-old brother Hans came out and said to Alissa, "Tell that idiot to shovel the snow in front of the house from the gate to the road." Alissa said, "Yes, dear brother."
Danny's stomach twisted at this sight. He didn't think Alissa meant any harm. There was a strange relationship between Alissa and Hans. A kind of superior-subordinate relationship, and it was always Hans who had the idea of using him for various things.
Alissa approached Danny. Danny's heart melted as he looked at Alissa's face. Big black eyes, delicate features, and curvy body in all the right places; Alissa was Pretty, as he always said. "Danny, can you shovel the snow in front of our house?" Alissa asked.
Danny, already overwhelmed, stared into her eyes. "No, Alissa." Alissa was shocked. Danny always happily did what he was told and always called Alissa Pretty. Until that moment, Alissa wasn't even sure that Danny knew her name.
Danny continued, "Alissa, I've been through some things, and as a result, my mind has opened. It hurt from the moment I realized that you were just using me. I really loved you, and it hurts to know that I am nothing more than a tool for you. I beg you, keep the knowledge that I have become wiser to yourself, and please stay away from me so as not to cause me more pain. Because every time I see your beautiful face, it hurts like a dagger in my heart."
Alissa was silent; her smiling face had fallen; she was about to open her mouth but realized that her voice would tremble, so she just nodded.
Danny heard Daniel's voice in his head. "That's pretty harsh." Danny ignored Daniel's teasing.
Alissa took a few steps towards the house, and Hans said to her, "What, is the big idiot busy? Why didn't he do it?" Alissa yelled, "Shut up! Shut up!" she fell to her knees, crying.
Danny didn't see any of this. He went to his uncle.
Hank looked Danny in the eye and said, "Danny, Bad Nate said that you oched him and the thugs. Isn't bad Nate a liar?" Danny laughed at his uncle's goofy way of talking. Yes, he used to be goofy and talk goofy, but he understood normal conversation just fine."
Danny looked at his uncle "Uncle, I'm going to tell you something and it's just between us." Hank was shocked, but he pulled himself together. Danny started to tell the lie Daniel wanted him to speak. "Uncle, that day in the forest, something inside me snapped. I suddenly felt the fuzziness in my brain go away. I can think like a normal person now." Hank swallowed; this was not easy information to digest in an instant.
"What about the bandits?" he asked. Danny said, "I was furious, the bandit chief almost killed me, but I still managed to take them all out. But I repeat, I will continue to play dumb for the rest of the village, at least while I'm in the village.
Alissa is the only one I've told besides you, and she's the only one I want you to know." Hank had wondered what had happened when he saw Alissa with red eyes. Now he understood.
"Did you say when you were in the village?" Hank asked. Danny said, "Unfortunately, I can't stay in the village anymore. I'm going to stay in my woodcutter's hut in the forest, and if I visit the village sometimes, I'll pretend to be my old self."
Hank "And what will I tell people?" Danny "That seeing blood and death, especially what Nate did, shocked me, so I don't like living among people anymore."
Danny turned away. Obviously, it suited Danny, Daniel to be away from his village and his family. At times he could feel that man's heart. Something was very wrong in that man's heart and mind.
