Chapter 17: Gang in the makeing

Chapter 17: Gang in the makeing

Daniel's back at the camp. In the camp Frank and Seth were practicing fighting like crazy.

Daniel was pleasantly surprised, "What's going on? You're practicing and You haven't even finished your leave yet."

Frank said, "We're bored, and like Alex said, we need to be among the best fighters if we want to still be on top when the new guys come in." Alex interjected "We used to be bandits to survive, we had dreams but they were far away. Now that we have a way to move up the tiers, we can be really strong."

Daniel smiled. For a week he and his two men trained together.

At the end of the week Seth came back with a big smile on his face and two donkeys loaded with tools and materials.

Seth looked at Daniel's forge, "This is very well insulated, the bellows are very nice, but why did you make such an extravagant forge?" Daniel laughed, "The iron and steel you use is of poor quality because you don't get to the temperatures you should, now let me teach you how to turn those iron ingots into good quality steel.

Daniel taught some of modern metallurgy to this medieval blacksmith. Then they began to make weapons together.

In a week, with the blacksmithing materials and Seth's help, Daniel made himself a giant sword, a helmet, two hand axes for melee and throwing, and a thick wooden shield reinforced with a steel frame that he wore on his back. The giant sword he had captured from the adventurers was mid quality steel. Daniel wanted modern steel weapons.

After Seth finished Daniel's weapons, he set about making good quality steel weapons for ordinary bandits.

Brad arrived two days later than he said he would. He had seventeen men with him, not ten. As he had promised, they all looked young, healthy and strong.

"As I promised you, money, women and glory await us. This is our leader Daniel." He gestured to Daniel.

The would-be bandits shouted "hooray". Daniel looked at his new men and said, "Yes, money, women, glory. You can have it all, but you can only have it if you can fight well, and if you can't, you will die. That's why I'm going to teach you how to fight before we start.

He handed out spears, swords, axes, shields, roughly shaped out of wood. Before the training began, one person raised his hand. He wanted to ask a question and Daniel said, "Ask." The young man said, "Boss, I am a hunter, ask anyone in my village and they will know that I am Hunter Tim, I am very good with a bow."

"How did you become a bandit if you are such a good hunter?" said someone in the crowd "Well, they say that he accidentally shot a drunk man John, on the hunt, because he was sleeping in the bushes, and when he woke up and moved the bushes, Tim mistook him for an animal and shot him with an arrow, and that's why he ran away from the village." said another man in the crowd.

"Good, we have bows and arrows, bring them and we'll try.

Tim took the bow and arrow, pointed it at the trees and said, "I'm going to hit that branch." Fifty meters away the twig broke. "I'm going to hit this knot" and the black knot on the tree seventy meters away was hit dead center.

Meanwhile, he saw a pigeon in the air, "I'm going to shoot that bird." The pigeon fell to the ground. Tim grinned "Boss, where did you get this bow, I've been a hunter all these years and I've never seen anything like it. It draws like it has a forty-pound draw weight, but it shoots like it has a fifty-pound draw weight." Daniel said, "I'm glad you like it because after your show just now, it's yours. He said.

Daniel trained his new bandits for a month. They were young and eager. They had chosen this path because they had no future in their village, they had no other choice, and they were even more enthusiastic when they learned from Frak and Alex that they could achieve a tier that would normally be very difficult for villagers like them to achieve They only need to do being bind to the Alviribus and killing enough enemies.

In one month their weapons were made with their help in front of their eyes.

All the bandits were armed with good steel weapons. The bandits were trained in one of three fighting styles. Shield and spear wielders, shield and axe wielders and double axe wielders.

The sword was not used to arm the bandits as it was too time consuming to make and took too much metal.

There were three men in the camp who used swords. One was Daniel and his giant sword, two was Brad and he had a new sword Seth had made for him, and third Brad had given his old sword to Tim.

That way they didn't bother to make a new melee weapon for the archer.

Daniel wanted to make sure the archer could defend himself, so Brad personally took care of Tim, practicing enough sword fighting that he wouldn't immediately lose, even against a warrior who knew what he was doing.

Frank took Tim with him and went exploring. In the jungle the two moved freely and Tim usually hunted a good deal of game on the way back. Fresh meat was eaten almost every day in the camp.

After a month of training and hunting Tim gone to hunting with Frank again. But there was no meat on this return trip, Frank said cheerfully, "Merchant, and he only has five guards." Bandits cheer.

The bandits quietly surrounded the group of five guards and one merchant. They were in a clearing among the trees and there was nowhere to run.

This time, unlike the last time, the merchant was very skinny. And the loads were not on donkeys but on a cart. Daniel looked over the guards, their weapons were ordinary, their armor gambeson and leather armor. The head guard wore a shirt of chain mail.

He raised his hand and with one movement the attack began. The merchant and his guards did not know what to do against the large group of bandits who suddenly appeared and attacked them.

One after another the guards threw down their swords. The bandits were disappointed. They could not gain power by killing a surrendered man if he had not surrendered after a fight.

The merchant shouted, "I gave you so much money, I was told to take this detour if I didn't want to see bandits, but it didn't work. Danburg is a den of bandits, I wish I had never come here, I'm ruined. I'm ruined."

Daniel said, "You're not really ruined, my friend." He motioned to his men and they took their weapons and armor from the guards. "I am the bandit chief of this region, and from this day forward, any merchant passing through this area can pass safely by paying me a tribute of twenty percent of his goods. I declare it so."

Daniel had spent a lot of time in the town and knew the market value of the goods.

He looked at the merchant's goods and said, "If you have the money, give me two gold pieces, otherwise we will take the honey and you can take the rest of your goods." "No, but those honeys are worth two and a half gold pieces."

Daniel shook his head no, "It's only worth two gold pieces, you'll see for yourself when we get to town." They unloaded the honey from the cart. The bandits were smiling. Because they had fresh meat and vegetables they had stolen from the fields of the surrounding villages.

Flour and bread were brought by Seth when he went to town for supplies (and to see his lover). But they didn't have much in the way of sweets, except for the berries and nuts they found in the forest.

So they were happy for honey.

They took their weapons and armor and sent the guards into town with the merchant.

When Daniel realized that the dye was coming out of his hair and skin, he left the body with Danny and let him return to the village.

Danny was taking his new situation for granted. Daniel was bad, but it was clear that he was not going to hurt his family. His family was safer than they had ever been.

He had to go back to the village and help his uncle plant vegetables. Without Danny, there was no way his uncle could work all that land.

Danny took his woodcutter's axe and loaded a big bag of forest nuts on his back. People in the village had heard that Danny had started to avoid people after his experiences with the bandits. So no one was surprised that he rarely came to the village.

He noticed something strange in the village. People usually seemed happy, but this time there was a worried air about them.

Danny went to his uncle. His uncle was shoveling the field. Danny said, "Hi, Uncle." Hank said, "Hi, Danny." He pointed to a shovel. Hank knew Danny had become a man of few words so he did not want to bother him.

Danny went to work with his uncle. Danny finally asked what he had been wondering, "Uncle, the whole village seems restless, what happened?"

"Normally, as you know, bandits don't attack villages." Danny nodded "But two weeks ago bandits attacked a village." Hank took a deep breath.

"Normally bandits rob merchants in gangs of fifteen or twenty. But this time about forty bandits attacked the village of Gumville." Hank took another deep breath, stopped, and Danny said, "I'm listening."

Hank said, "Gumville has no walls. They are raided the village. Just like in our village, their tiered warriors have been sent into battle. But the villagers have put up a good resistance."

Danny "But the village still lose and is burned and looted?" Hank "They killed fifty people. They kidnapped about thirty people, mostly young women.

My guess is that they will illegally register these women as slaves in another region."

Danny "And what is the baroness doing about it?" Hank "She is short of troops because of the war, but she has sent a force of fifty men from Danburg after the bandits and put a hundred gold pieces on the heads of the two leaders of this bandit gang. One of the leaders is a woman called Lola and the other is a man called Tomas."

Danny should have known this would happen after Ted was taken care of and the bandits had no one to sell their stolen goods to.

Probably someone had made them an offer to kidnap villagers and sell them as slaves.

Of course, when the villagers heard what was going on they were worried for their own safety.

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

Danny continued to help his uncle in silence. Hank broke the silence, "If there's an attack, can you help with the defense?" Danny said, "If I'm around, yes." Danny quickly grubed up the part of the field reserved for vegetables.

He thought of what the bandits had done to his own family and what they would do if they could. He had to get to the second tier as soon as possible. Daniel was cruel and evil, but the only way to keep his family safe was to be strong with his help.

Danny wanted to see his cousins, Ean hadn't been back from the damn war for almost two years. The kids had lost Ean and now they were losing him.

"So soon?" Daniel asked as soon as Danny left the village. "Can't we destroy the rival bandits as soon as possible?" Danny asked.

Daniel said, "They cut off the head of the cock that crows prematurely."

Danny was about to leave the village when he heard a panting woman's voice "Danny, Danny, stop please." Danny turned and saw a panting Alissa and she started to speak "Danny, Hans, Hans went into the forest, he got lost." Danny "Why did he do that?"

Alissa "Hans said he couldn't achieve anything by staying in the village, he needed to get some real fighting experience. I don't know what he was planning to do, all I know is that he's been gone for two days."

Danny said, "I'll try to find him." He turned away. Alissa said, "Thanks Danny, I appreciate it," and walked away. Every time Danny talked to Alissa it still hurt.

Danny went back to the camp, where he planned to take Frank and Tim with him and go looking for Hans.

When he got to the camp he saw the bandits gathered in a circle and cheering.

There was a fight in the center of the circle. Hans was fighting against Alex, who was holding a wooden sword they had used in training at the camp, and Alex was holding a wooden axe. On the edge of the training ground sat three thugs, obviously beaten and defeated. Hans had good posture, positioning and technique. But Alex, the older man, was outclassing him in strength and experience.

"What's going on?" Danny asked Brad. "This kid was wandering in the woods, he challenged the guys and they brought him here for fun, but apparently he's not all talk, he's had sword training from someone who knows what he's doing."

Danny pushed his way through the crowd and said, "That's enough Alex."

Hans saw Danny and grinned and said, "Big idiot!" Daniel took control at that moment. This brat needed to learn respect.

"You think you can come to my camp and insult me?" Daniel asked. He picked up a wooden sword. "If you can hit me once, I'll let you go, but if not..." He smiled dirty. "I'll paint you purple."

Hans grinned "I..." before he could finish, Daniel threw a blow with all his strength. Hans met it, but the blow was so strong that he was lifted up and fell on his back.

Daniel said, "Get up!" Hans got up and in all seriousness made a quick attack, his aim was to touch Daniel with the tip of the sword.

Daniel met the sword comfortably with the one-handed sword in his right hand and landed a punch with his left.

Hans went flying again. He was dragged half a meter on the ground.

Hans got up, barely supported by his sword, raised his sword above his head and tried to attack.

Daniel struck him in the stomach with the broad side of the wooden sword.

Hans fell to the ground, spitting blood from his mouth.

Daniel showed Hans the red healing potion and said "You have two choices, either you die here from internal bleeding and I take your body to your sister, or you swear loyalty to me and join my gang."

Hans spat blood and lisped, "I want to get stronger, if you promise to help me." Daniel said, "I help all my men get stronger, you are no exception." Then Hans said, "I swear to be loyal to you, Danny."

Daniel said, "You're supposed to call me Daniel or boss." So Hans said, "I swear to be loyal to you, Daniel."

Daniel threw the little bottle at Hans. The bottle did not heal Hans completely, as Daniel promised some bruses left.

When Hans looked up, Daniel said, "Don't ever disrespect me anywhere again and this bandit camp is a secret."

Brad "Boss, isn't this kid a little young for this job?" Hans said, "I'm fifteen." Then he replied, "I want to get stronger." Daniel said to Brad, "Tell this boy how we got stronger through Alviribius."

Then he turned to the whole group. "Other gangs of bandits have started attacking villages. This means more pressure on the bandits. So be ready for any kind of conflict."

Frank came running into the camp. He had a joyful look on his face. "Adventurers, adventurers, finally here to take care of the werewolf." Tim came panting up behind Frank. "I listened to them, there are five of them, the lead warrior is tier two, the others are tier one."

After Hans had learned from Brad how to gain power on the road to Alviribus, he asked Brad, "So we kill them and move up the tiers?" Brad nodded and they set off.

"Then we took turns fucking the doll of a healer, her skin was smooth and white, her tits were just right..." Alex was telling the later members of the group about how they had raped an adventurer.

Brad interjected, "Focus on taking out the adventurers, I got an arrow because of this rape spree last time."

The bandits were fired up. Hans approached Daniel "I know I swore my loyalty to you, but I really love my sister, and if you try anything against her, even if it costs me my life…"

Daniel said, "Don't be afraid, I don't have the slightest ill will towards your sister. But we are bandits now, the men you see here are in it not only for money and power, but also for women. I'm guessing you're trying to train yourself as a leader. Know this. The first rule of leadership is to make your followers believe that they will achieve their goals if they follow you. As long as they have that belief, they will follow you through every challenge, but if you damage that belief, you will be amazed at how quickly they will turn against you." Hans nodded.

As they approached the adventurers, all the bandits smiled broadly as adventurers found the decomposed bodies of their comrades in the middle of the forest, eaten by animals.

They assumed the wounds inflicted by the wogs as the werewolf's work and went after the werewolf with great anger.

When the bandits arrived, the five adventurers were busy surrounding and wounding the werewolf. In a clearing in the forest, the werewolf was getting hit as he tried to escape.

The leader of the team this time was an tier two warrior dressed head to toe in chain mail. Daniel realized he couldn't take the armor and became upset.

The warrior wielded a metal shield and a giant black mace.

Every time the werewolf tried to flee, he cut him off at great speed with electric bolts and struck blow after blow with his electrifed mace.

Behind him an archer rained down arrows, each one hitting the werewolf with an icy impact that slowed him down.

Occasionally the werewolf inflicted wounds on the adventurers, but a short and ugly healer in blue and white robes successfully healed the whole party with blue light from his staff.

A beautiful red-haired sorceress in red and black robes aimed her fireballs specifically at the werewolf's face. The last one was a large and muscular woman who wielded her giant axe swiftly.

Every chance she got, she was able to move quickly and strike hard blows at the werewolf's legs.

The werewolf was covered in blood, it was fighting with black-purple energy, making energy attacks and energy shields, inflicting small wounds with its attacks, and each time it inflicted small wounds, its own wounds healed a little. But the healer wasted all his efforts and healed those small wounds immediately.

Daniel said, "Now attack, kill them all except the healer."

All the men rushed at the adventurers like mad. Hans had chosen the warrior woman as his target. She was very strong, but she had too many vulnerabilities. She wore armor only on her left side, no armor on her right side.

Daniel aimed directly at the leader of the adventurers. He guessed he had burned most of his energy by now.

Brad grinned and attacked the young archer, raising his shield.

Alex and Frank went after the sorceress.

The other bandits scattered towards various targets.

Just when the werewolf thought he was defeated, he seized the opportunity to escape. Daniel had no problem. As long as the werewolf lived, more adventurers would come to this region.

If the werewolf became a problem for him, he guessed he could take care of it once he reached the second tier.

Daniel drew his giant sword, made a full thrust with all his might and then shouted while onrushing, "Be careful, we will win anyway, take no casualties." The warrior met the blow with his shield and then shouted "You are incredibly strong for a tier one, but forget about winning, we are not as worn out as you think, we will get you all."

Daniel laughed. He charged his sword with blue flames, then increased his speed with his telekinetic power. He began relentlessly raining blows on his opponent.

The sorceress threw a fireball at Frank as he came at her with a spear and shield, the leather-covered wooden shield, reinforced with a steel frame, did not even get a scorch mark.

Just then the sorceress formed a shield of fire while two axes striking behind her. Perhaps if there were only two of them she could have put up some resistance, but from a third direction a spear was swung at her and then an other direction axe was thrown at her.

She threw down her staff and surrendered. If she had known what was coming next she would probably have fought to the death.

At the same time the healer threw down his staff, raised his hand and surrendered to the bandits surrounding him. Arn had no intention of dying, he was a skilled alchemist. He was just adventuring to finance his alchemical ambitions. He was also sure that the bandits wouldn't do much to him, unlike his beautiful lady friend." He looked at the surrendered red-haired girl with a sigh. "It's a pity, I'd like to taste her too," he said to himself.

Brad's heat-enhanced shield stopped the archer's icy arrows with ease. "Please stop, what have we done to you..." the archer shouted in pain as Brad approached.

He was knocked down by an arrow to the head. Brad looked at Tim with anger. Tim had been waiting for the archer's opening all along. Then Tim started laughing out loud. He had gained a Tier.

Hans said to the two bandits with him, one with a shield and axe and one with a shield spear, "You take the right, you take the left, I'll attack from the center." Hans had a good sword in his hand, a family heirloom of fine steel, and he had bought one of the well made new shields from the camp.

The warrior woman successfully met the bandits with her giant axe. She struck with such force that the bandit with the spear fell to the ground, but the bandit with the hand-axe, attacking from behind, opened a wound, and as he turned toward her, Hans opened a wound right in his stomach, and before the sword could advance, she jumped back and tried to flee.

But this time Tim, with his new power, fired an arrow at the target, which traveled incredibly fast, scattering electricity. At that moment the woman gave a kind of push with all her energy.

Hans and the other two bandits were knocked down by the adventurer woman's full force attack and the lightning arrow was pushed back.

Hans couldn't miss the opportunity, so he used all of his stamina to return to his feet. He made a quick lunge at the exhausted woman.

He ripped her head off under the sad gaze of the other two thugs and probably Tim who was watching from afar.

Suddenly he felt energized, he had gained a tier. Now he would choose his form of power.

The adventurer with the mace looked around, two of his comrades were captured, two others were dead. He was surrounded by bandits, and a fierce and powerful opponent who knew exactly what he was doing.

"Don't interfere, he is mine!" Daniel said to the bandits gathered around him.

The adventurer with the mace looked at Daniel with great determination, "This is the biggest mistake you have ever made, bandit chief, I will kill you if it is the last thing I do."

Daniel said, "If he kills me in single combat, Brad is your leader and as your leader my order is that if he wins you let this man go."

The bandits believed in their leader. They thought he was invincible. Which suited Daniel just fine. The fight continued at a fast pace, the Mace adventurer using his electrical power to not only make his weapon more lethal, but also faster.

Daniel countered his opponent's speed advantage by speeding himself up with his telekinesis and adding many dents to his opponent's metal shield with fiery sword blows.

The fight lasted about fifteen minutes, with neither man achieving any notable success. Having fought the werewolf before, the adventurer was running out of energy. Saying to himself 'I'm going to die at this rate, it's too risky, but at least I have to try', he channeled all his energy into his weapon, looking for an opening, and when he thought he found one, he threw his mace with all his remaining energy.

Daniel blocked it by blocking it with the broad side of his sword, supporting it with his hand and meeting it with both hands.

Despite the high quality steel, the sword crackled and broke. However, the attack was deflected slightly and the mace flew away with energy. The hand Daniel had used to support the sword was bleeding. Daniel took out two hand axes and attacked his out of force energy opponent.

The adventurer drew his dagger, but he had no energy left. All he wanted was to die fighting. And so it was. Daniel brought his axe down on the adventurer's forehead. The adventurer collapsed in a pool of blood. Daniel said, "I loved that sword."

At that moment Daniel felt he had reached the second tier, Seth could make a new sword. The important thing is to move up, he saidto himself.

Daniel was tired, he sat down on the floor and said to Brad, "I didn't do much damage because I thought this guy's armor would fit you."

Brad grinned and took the armor. The two surviving adventurers were brought before Daniel. "We took the healer alive, boss, just like you ordered," one bandit said. Daniel said, "You three prioritized capturing the healer, so I will reward you."

He took six gold coins out of his pouch and gave them two by two to the three men who had done his bidding. These bandits began to grin.

Then he turned to the healer and said, "Heal me." "If you give me my staff..." before the healer had finished, his staff was in his hand. Daniel felt the cool blue beam heal the wounds on his hand and elsewhere.

Then he stood up "I am generous to my followers as you can see, I could use a healer like you, would you like to join me and more importantly what would you want for joining to me?"

The healer said "I need rare herbs, spices and minerals to help me move up the tiers. I also need alchemy books and recipes.

Frankly, I thought you couldn't give me the money to buy these things until I saw the money you gave to your men who captured me. So I want those things, but that's not the most important condition."

Daniel "What is it?" He pointed to the red-haired sorceress "I heard what you're going to do with him. I'm going to do the first one on my own, you leave hem to me until I'm done, until my balls are empty.

The sorceress said, "Arn, why Arn? I have always been good to you, I have always protected you when others mocked you, I have always been your friend."

Arn looked her with scornfull eyes "It has always been the most humiliating thing for me that you treat me as a friend when I desire you." Arn attacked her, and when she pushed him away, he told the thugs around him to "grab her arms."

Daniel grabbed Hans's arm. "You'd better not watch this," he said, "and let's sit over there," pointing to a wooded hill a little further on.

He picked some nuts from one of the trees and gave them to Hans. When Hans said "I'm not a child, you don't need to protect me", she smiled "Trust me, watching this kind of thing is bad for your psychology, your sister asked me to save you, I'd rather keep you in good shape bouth mentaly and phisicly."

Hans laughed "You didn't say that when You beat me almost to death." Hans took out his sword and cut the leaves with incredible speed. Daniel said, "So you chose time slowing as your power. Not a bad choice."

Hans said, "I was already fast, I will get faster, even your power will be no match for me."

Daniel said, "Take your time."

"What will happen to her?" Hans asked when he heard her screams in the distance. Daniel shrugged "They'll probably fuck her to death. As long as it boosts their morale, I don't have a problem."

Hans said, "Everyone in the village was saying that after your encounter with the bandits you had turned cold to people and that's why you didn't come to the village.

You have become wiser, I understand that, but why did you choose the path of banditry?" Daniel "Because it is the shortest way to power and wealth." Daniel didn't say to Hans, 'Because we are in a simulation and I feel like being a bad guy.

Hans shook his head "No, no, I can understand being scared and wanting to be powerful, but I can't understand why you suddenly turned into a bandit.

Daniel thought, then started to make it up "Do you remember Ean?" Hans said "Yes".

"Ean was the terror of bandits and monsters and the protector of the village. But he was within legal boundaries. But because he was within the legal boundaries, they sent him to fight a ridiculous endless war and he disappeared when we needed him most, unable to protect those who he loved.

Remember, you can't be a lion in the middle of the swamp, you have to be a crocodile. Circumstances demanded that I become a crocodile to protect my family, so I did."

Hans satisfied with answer did not quesitoned more.
