CHAPTER 23
Meeting a Whole New World
Catie’s part (lvl 7 inventorial s)
I set my plan to motion. Couple minutes after I asked him to do me a favor, Rasen tells me that the person in charge actually agrees to my proposal.
“He said he is going to watch you do it too, he also has stationed a medical team just in case you faint.” he adds on.
“Oh, that’s so nice of him. Alright thanks for asking.” I reply to Rasen with gratitude and respect. Then I head off to the Sword. Pause is about to be over.
When I arrive at the hero’s sword. People are all watching me, maybe the person in charge has alerted all the people that somebody is seriously going to try to get the sword. I take a deep breath, and grab the sword. Then say
“Store”.
Unlike the last time, this time something happens. I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing though. As soon as I say store, the hero’s sword starts glowing. Then, I die. No that’s not the word. I seize to exist in our world. Instead I am in a world that I have never seen before.
All around me is void, no light, only darkness. Here and there, there are some things. Like rocks and books. I don’t know why they are there. For a moment, I was wondering if I traveled to a different world. Then it gets bad, I realize I can’t breathe. There is no oxygen, actually, there is no air. No air, no joke. This is serious. I gotta get out of here! Wait, don’t panic, don’t panic. Panicking will only make it worse. Okay, let’s see where I am. I see some rocks, books, and knives. This is getting me nowhere. As I am thinking all this, I can feel myself getting dizzy. This is bad, this is bad… Then I see something I never realized to see here. My father’s laptop. It was floating around over there. I get it now! I GET IT NOW! It’s my own INVENTORY. The hero’s sword must have reflected my ‘Store’ and sent me to my own inventory. Then, I know a way out. “Unstore all”. As it took me less than a split second to get in. It also only takes an instant to get out. I open my eyes in the real world again, then I realize that everybody is watching me as I get out. Especially the Rasen looks very worried.
“Are you okay young one?” he asks me in a careful voice.
“Ye, I think I am fine.” Then the sight goes black.
I open my eyes, and find myself in an unfamiliar room. This definitely isn’t the Hero’s Sanctuary’s medical room. Then, what is this place? I start to move my head, but the pain stops me.
“OWWWW…” I shout in agony. Somebody hears this and comes close to me. He is Rasen, wait… Is Rasen here? Why?

“Oh you're awake. Thank god you’re fine.” he says in a relieved voice.
“Mmm… I am not.” I correct him.
“Huh?” he exclaims in confusion, and adds
“I can see you are awake.”
“Ye, not the awake part, the fine part, I am definitely not fine. All of my body is aching right now.” I say in a voice that would betray my agony.
“About that, it will get better in a couple days.” then he adds on
“Oh, and you might be wondering where you are.”
“Ye, where am I?” I ask him.
“This is the hospital of House Cataloguers. House Cataloguers? The Kalio name house of Runaenia?”
“Yes, your right young one. Your health condition seemed pretty bad, so we had to get you here to treat you better.”
“Oh… Thanks...”
“I can’t keep calling you the young one, what’s your name?”
“My name’s Catie Shanspire.”
“Well… you probably know my name, but I’ll say it myself. My name is Rasen Lolrena, nice to meet you Catie Shanspire.” he says in a very formal voice, like I was an adult.
“What you did there was creative and brave. Sadly though, the hero’s sword has magic reflection.” Oh, shit… I knew this. However, I didn’t think it would actually reflect something like ‘store’. What kind of person would use ‘store’ on a legendary sword like a hero's sword? Person like me, but I didn’t think the sword would be prepared for that.
“Well… that’s RIP” I say.
“I gotta ask you though.” he continues with a seriousness that makes me focus.
“What difference do I have with the first hero right now?” he asks.
This must mean that he has gotten the max sigil knight before trying to pull the sword. Seen from the result, he failed. Requirement for a hero is largely unknown to anybody at this point. However, a couple things spark my mind. Gender can’t be it, classes don't work that way. It could be.
“Okay, a couple things that I think you might be different from the hero.” I start
“Gender can’t be it since class doesn’t work that way, the only thing it could be is either that you haven’t gotten the advanced sword training, or that you aren’t a leader of a house, or that you haven’t gotten enough orderly karma. There could be more, but those requirements are unknown to anybody, so I wouldn’t know.” I finish and start panting.
“I guess it’s gotta be Raven then… like it always has been” he murmurs.
“Well… I gotta be going to Lolrena to help her fight against the Tal right now, wanna go with me? Raven would definitely like to take in a creative apprentice like you.” he said with such a calming tone. However my mind was racing now. I said with an overly exciting voice.
“RAVEN? APPRENTICE?”
“Ye… I think you would like to become an apprentice of Raven, and she would probably like to teach you.”
“But… I am not a sigil knight.” I say with a sad voice.
“Apprenticeship isn’t only about the same class. You can learn more than what you ever expected from people with different classes.”
“Okay, let me tell my parents though.”
“Does your parents have a magical transmitter?” he asks.
“Yes, but I don’t…” I start to expl…
“Well… use mine” he cuts in.
“Thanks Rasen”
“No problem” he replies. Then adds
“If you want to follow me to the Lolrena, better prepare fast, I am leaving in 5 minutes.”
“Alright I’ll call and pack right away” I reply with the happiest voice ever.
