In the burning sun during the day, the villagers were harvesting many crops in their fields. All the plants they picked carefully, and plant new ones. Everyone rejoiced at this great harvest. Not only the residents, Dao and Rhino were also happy to help them harvest all these plants.
“We feel very helped by your arrival. You are good immigrants,” One Resident praised.
“There's no need to thank us. We just want to help lighten your load,” Rhino replied.
“Dao is ready to help citizens wherever Dao is,” Dao continued.
“When you're done, take as many vegetables as you can take. We'll find a bag.”
“Thank you.” Rhino lifted the sack of carrots towards the warehouse.
Along the way, Dao saw everyone working very well to harvest other vegetables. However, he remembered something. Dao turned to Rhino, who was having a hard time carrying the sack.
“Rhino, Dao feels that something is wrong with this harvest.”
“Ugh, talk about it later! Let's take it all to the warehouse first.” Rhino quickened the pace.
After arriving at the warehouse, Rhino and Dao placed the sacks they had brought in the large room. Dao glanced at every corner of the room and found an oddity that made him remember even more.
“Rhino, can Dao speak now?”
Rhino sat down and sipped a bottle of water. After that, he looked at Dao's face. “I let you!”
“Dao feels that something will disrupt this great harvest,” Dao said.
“What are you talking about?"
“Does Rhino remember Tivet's story about a strange creature that attacked this village during harvest time?” Dao ensured.
Rhino was silent for a moment. “I don't really remember it. What is the matter?”
“Dao has discovered many irregularities in this place, such as being attacked by a large being. If Dao guesses, it's likely that the creatures told by Tivet attack the village for food,” Dao explained. “But Dao is still curious why those creatures eat vegetables.”
“Maybe it wants to live a healthy life. Everyone wants that,” Rhino joked.
“So you've heard that monsters attacked this village?” The Farmer asked, who overheard their conversation.
“Yes, we heard it from Tivet,” Dao replied.
“Tivet was right. A strange black-bodied monster had indeed attacked Grasswood Village. It was scary and destroyed many buildings. This warehouse suffered the most destruction of all the houses and all the stored vegetables looked as damaged as if they had eaten. Looks like you were right about the monster eating our crops,” The Farmer said.
“Is that creature a vegetarian?” Rhino asked jokingly.
“We don't know, but it also kidnaps people here, including children and women. That's why we take very strict care of women and children.”
“In that case, we should inform Risk and Upgrade about this.” Dao ran first.
“Hey, wait for me!” Rhino said, who had just stood up. “Forgive my friend's behavior. He really likes it.”
“It doesn’t matter. Thank you for helping us.”
Rhino chased after Dao. The slightly Gray-haired man ran across the fields and jumped over the ditch to reach the house. He had to tell Upgrade and Risk the results so they could devise a strategy to defeat the creature.
Arriving home, Dao immediately looked for Upgrade and Risk. But, he only found Risk in Elisia's room. The man immediately approached him.
“Risk, Dao has something to say!” Dao turned his head towards Elisia. “Elisia, have you recovered? Sorry if Dao didn't see you since this morning. Dao is very busy.”
“It doesn’t matter. I understand that you are very busy,” Elisia replied.
“What do you want to say?” Risk asked.
“It's about the creature,” Dao said. “Dao and Rhino heard a story from the farmer who said that the creature once attacked this village and ate all the crops. Dao also found traces of the damage that the creature had in the harvest warehouse.”
“Really? It means that it is under Elisia's thinking,” Risk said.
“What did Risk mean?”
“I also thought that the creature would attack the village during the harvest season. I'm not too sure, but I can feel it,” Elisia replied.
“Then, we should think of a plan to defeat that creature,” Dao said. “Where is Upgrade?”
“I don't know where he went, but he came out earlier.” Risk holds his chin. “I think you're right, but we have prepared nothing yet.”
Dao kneeled before Elisia. “What does Elisia know about that creature?”
“Forgotten? What I read in Monstra, this creature has a large attack and high attack speed. But that could only get if it continues to attack. If we can silence it, we can lower that ability,” Elisia explained. “It has a strong body to withstand magic attacks and its body coated with Kryptadium which makes it difficult for sharp weapons to penetrate.”
“We should have a plan to defeat it based on it ability,” Risk said. “By the way, where is Rhino?”
Suddenly, Rhino appeared in front of Elisia's bedroom door with a gasp. He entered the room, limp and exhausted. Dao pulled out a chair for him to sit on. His body leaned back and his legs straightened.
“What did you just do? Did you see that creature?” Risk asked.
“No,” replied Rhino, “This is because Dao ran away from me in the warehouse.”
“Dao doesn't have time to wait for Rhino,” Dao defended.
“Alright, now we are waiting for Upgrade to talk about this. I hope his brain works fast to find a plan,” Risk said.
After waiting a few hours, Upgrade came home with some stuff. Everyone approached him. It surprised them by the things that one of their friends brought. There were some rocks that brought with him.
“What did you bring home with you?” Rhino asked.
“These are some soil and rock samples from the area attacked by Forgotten. I will research and try to make a tool from these materials,” Upgrade replied.
“I think there's something more important than the tools you make. Dao and Elisia found something we should hear about,” Risk said.
“What's that?”
“It's about the creature,” Elisia responded, who walked out of the room.
Everyone turned and went straight to Elisia.
“Elisia, don't come out of the room just yet! You're not so well!” Upgrade said.
“But I have something to tell you.”
Everyone took Elisia to the kitchen. The girl sat on one chair. Upgrade sat in the front seat of Elisia to hear the girl's words.
“I want to convey that it is likely that Forgotten will attack this village just in time for the big harvest,” Elisia said.
“Really?” Upgrade ensured.
“Elisia is right. Dao discovered that the creature once damaged the harvest storehouse and ate the crops that were there. The farmer told to Dao and Rhino about it,” Dao explained.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author's consent. Report any appearances on Amazon.
“Eating the harvest? So it's a herbivore?” Upgrade didn’t understand what they mean.
“I'm also curious about that question. If they're right, the creature will attack tonight,” Risk said.
“Yes, Forgotten is a nocturnal creature. Its vision is very good at night,” Elisia continued.
Upgrade held his chin. Everyone was waiting for an answer from this man who loves to made electronics. Elisia felt her body, confirming that she was getting better. But, her body still felt pain like before.
“In that case, I will meet the village chief to discuss this. If any of you have a plan, save it until I get home,” Upgrade said, “I'll be right back!”
Everyone nodded. Upgrade out of the house to go to the village chief's house. Risk held his chin to think of a plan. Elisia tried to remember what might subdue the monster. She got up from the chair, trying to walk to the room. Rhino immediately grabbed her body.
“Be careful, my liege! If you get hurt again, you'll have a hard time living a normal life,” Rhino said.
“I want to take Monstra book. Maybe we can find something there,” Elisia replied.
“Let Dao take it!” Dao walked into Elisia's room.
He returned quickly while handing the book of Monsters to Elisia. The girl walked over to a chair with Rhino's help and unwrapped the sheet markings which led her to the Forgotten courtyard. She read it down to the smallest part of the writing.
When she turned to the next page, a piece of paper came out of it. Elisia read the paper that contained unclear writing, but she was having a hard time.
“Dao, can you read this inscription?” Elisia asked.
Dao took the writing and read it. “It says here that only the brain can conquer hungry evil. Rock is hard and water is very soft, the two of them can become irresistible enemies.”
“Sounds like a riddle. We have to guess it,” Rhino said.
Risk closed his eyes and leaned against the wall. Elisia looked at her mentor and wished no words would come out of his mouth.
“Stones and water....” Risk was silent for a moment. “The waves can break rock into sand. It means....”
“Water is its weakness!” Rhino cried.
“Finally, we know how to beat him!” Elisia said happily.
"Do not be too happy yet! I'm not sure that way will work. Upgrade also says nothing about Kryptadium and its weaknesses,” Risk prevented.
Along with Risk's words, Upgrade went home. He approached everyone who still gathered in the kitchen. He carried an antique wand. Everyone confused.
“Have you guys come up with a plan?” Upgrade asked.
“Elisia found something in Monstra book.” Dao handed over a piece of paper that Elisia had found.
Upgrade read the paper, and his eyes widened. “The words on this paper say the right thing. Water can destroyed Kryptadium easily because it is like a rock which can erode by water. Only, it will take longer for it to crumble into sand.”
“At least we can get rid of it using water, can't we? It's much better, so the village doesn't get attacked again,” Rhino said.
“We don't know how the monster will react if we chase it away. What if he gets even angrier?” Upgrade replied annoyed.
“Hmmm…, maybe I have an idea,” Elisia cut in. “But we will involve Risk in it.”
“What? Me?” Risk surprised.
“What plans do you have?” Upgrade asked.
“Risk, you have excellent sword skills. Your attacks do a lot of damage. We'll splash water on it to distract that monster. After that, Risk will do a painful sword swing at the monster,” Elisia explained.
“I'm not sure my abilities can hurt that monster,” Risk argued.
“Risk, looks like this is your chance to prove your ability to destroy that monster,” Upgrade said.
Everyone looked at Risk with pleading faces. Risk tried to suppress the feeling of pleading, but their faces were getting more and more pleading. Finally, Risk sighed.
“Okay, I'll do it!” Risk said.
“Good, we can use Elisia's plan to defeat Forgotten,” Upgrade said. “I will convey this to the village chief, and after that I will make electronic weapons from Kryptadium. Sometimes, fellow materials can kill each other.”
“No, just let Dao tell the village chief,” Dao pleaded, leaving immediately.
“I will prepare my shield.” Rhino also went to the backyard.
“Elisia, if possible, I won’t allow you to take part in the action this time. You still need to recover again,” Upgrade said.
“But I'm getting better. Is that not enough?” Elisia said.
“Of course. I don't want to take the risk. If only Risk didn't hurt you badly, I wouldn't force you to rest,” Upgrade replied while glancing at Risk.
“Can't you heal me quickly? You are a high-level medic. There's no way you don’t recover quickly,” Elisia said.
Upgrade sighed. “That ability I only use in an emergency, even then it doesn't really make it recover.”
“Then make me recover now!” Elisia stood up and spread her arms.
“You have better help her this time. She really expected that,” Risk whispered in Upgrade's ear.
“Huh, alright.”
Upgrade took his wand and pointed it at Elisia. Elisia's body enveloped in an extremely bright green aura. The girl could feel the wounds on her body closing properly and the pain lessening. The bandages on her body also opened slowly. Risk closed his eyes so as not to look directly at Elisia's body.
After the green light dimmed, Elisia's body returned to her original state. All her wounds had healed and she could swing. Upgrade gave Elisia's jacket to wear on the girl's body.
“Go to your room and put on your clothes!”
Elisia wore the jacket to cover her naked body. “Thanks, Upgrade!” she then went to the room.
“You did a good thing again, Upgrade. I think I'm believing you,” Risk whispered again.
“Shut up! I only did it for her. I can't stop her high spirits,” Upgrade replied.
“Maybe if she knew her past from the start, she wouldn't be as excited as she is now.”
“Maybe, we'll see later.”
Everyone got ready. Dao came home with some villagers who called themselves village warriors. Risk provided direction about the plans that had made. Rhino finished repairing his shield and asked Dao to attack him as a test of strength. Upgrade was in his room, making a device.
Elisia put on her jacket and gripped her pendulum. She also looked in the mirror and saw her face. The serious look on the girl's face convinced her. Elisia could feel the heat of energy flowing from the pendulum. She released the spear from the pendulum.
“I have to be ready this time! My opponent is no ordinary human. I can definitely help,” Elisia muttered.
Risk entered Elisia's room to confirmed the girl's availability. Elisia, who had been standing at the door greeted him.
“I've already told the plans we've made to the village warriors. They will gather the men to bring water and prepare it in the village warehouse,” Risk reported. “I also heard from them that one sign of Forgotten's arrival was a distant growl. We must head to the ambush point immediately!"
“I understand. How about Upgrade?”
“I'm here.” Upgrade had stood behind them.
“We're leaving now!” Risk walked out of the house first, followed by Elisia.
Suddenly, Upgrade stopped Elisia's steps. “Be careful. If you feel hurt, tell me!”
“Okay. Thank you for your concern. I will take care of myself.” Elisia chased after Risk, who had come a long way.
They crossed the dark village streets with minimum light. The villagers turned off all the lighting deliberately to focus the monster's attack on the warehouse. Upon arrival, all the men of the village of Grasswood greeted them with minimum weapons. The youth immediately took them to the village chief.
“Village Chief, we are ready!” Risk said.
The man with the mustache turned and walked over to them. “Very nice. I have gathered all the men of this village to join the fight to defend the village.”
“I've made sure they've brought plenty of water, just in case the monster gets violent.”
“You don't have to worry. We have someone who can control water, as I told Dao,” the man replied, “But why water?”
“This creatures is vulnerable to water,” Elisia said from behind Risk.
The man glanced at Elisia. “Who are you?”
Risk asked Elisia to come forward. “She was the one who made this plan. One of our young comrades.”
“My name is Elisia Naumann,” Elisia said firmly.
The man held Elisia's left shoulder. “I hope your plan works. We depend a lot on it.”
"Don't worry. My friends and I will make sure the plan will work,” Elisia said.
In the middle of the chat, a growl sounded. Everyone came out of the building and saw that all the guards outside were on alert. Rhino and Dao started moving to the front of the line as a barrier to movement. Risk and Elisia moved to the other side of the warehouse, where all the water had stored. Upgrade tuned the tool.
They could feel a tremor in the ground, signaling that the monster was drawing near. Upgrade’s tool detected the Kryptadium near them. Risk was ready with both swords in hand. Elisia held her pendulum and prayed that this would work.
Dao saw movement from a distance. A monster moving slowly towards the warehouse. The pace quickened with a growl that continued to sound. All the village warriors tightened their grip on their respective weapons. The water-bender was getting ready to lift water from a large wooden container. The monster was getting closer. Elisia started getting messages.
“CAUTION!”
“Monster detected: Forgotten level 60”
.
Elisia could sense that this being had a great power, as big as its level. It made her a little nervous, but everyone had hung on to her plan. She couldn't let everyone down. The lives of dozens of people were in everyone's hands.
The creature jumped and would pounce on everyone there. Rhino put up a shield with swiftly full defensive power. It could resist the attack. The water-benders started throwing water at the creature. The piece of paper was right, the monster growled in pain after the water soaked its body.
The monster raised both hands above its head, then slammed it to the ground. But, Rhino withstood the attack again, even though his shield was about to crack.
“I will endure it while I can. Launch your attacks!” Rhino cried.
“Risk, now!” Dao commanded.
Before Dao had finished saying the command, an attack had hit Forgotten's face. Someone seemed to land on the right side of the monster, then started another attack. It created wounds on the neck and abdomen. Risk stopped in front of the monster.
Forgotten growled loudly and launched attacks from the right side. Risk moved quickly upwards and was about to slam his sword with full force. The sword slammed and hurt Forgotten's head again. The creature held its head and growled in pain. Blood was gushing from Risk's attack scars.
Elisia ran towards the monster to use [Molten Flame]. Her spear let out a fairly large fire. With a medium running speed, Elisia swung her spear from the left. A slash created and pushed Forgotten down. Forgotten's body lay on the ground.
The villagers approached Forgotten's motionless body to confirmed. Rhino activated his shield ability to protect several people who were close to the monster's hand. Elisia and Risk also approached Forgotten to climb up its large body. They saw the creature's head, which was still bleeding. Elisia stuck out her spear to woke it up. No response. Elisia sighed.
“We beat the monster,” Risk said.
Everyone cheered when heard that. They jumped for joy upon learning that the creature that had plagued their village had died. Elisia's eyes filled with tears, not believing that her plan would work.
They descended from the creature's body slowly. Everyone started approaching them to congratulate them. However, Risk felt something strange. Unexpectedly, Forgotten moved again. Everyone ran away quickly. Risk and Elisia didn't have time to escape until they also moved on top of Forgotten's body. Risk jumped quickly from the creature, but not Elisia.
Forgotten grasped Elisia's small body, and the creature ran quick. Risk chased after the creature, followed by Dao. Risk kept running until he almost reached Forgotten. Elisia shouted without knowing what to do. All her limbs could not move because the creature gripped it.
Forgotten moved faster and jumped so far into the forest. Risk stopped in his tracks and stared at the forest. He knelt down with a sob coming from his mouth. Dao arrived and grabbed both of Risk's shoulders. The man hit the ground.
“Why…, why did this happen?!”
