Chapter 094 Determination (2)

After Sarah returned, we headed toward the statue, and after we left the building, I saw Silver resting near the entrance. And since he wasn’t a domesticated cat, he only showed interest when I patted his head.

You have received 1565423 Evolution coins.

Silver – HP: 2900/2900 MP: 3500/3500 STA: 1500/1500

Physical Limit Lv 23, Mental Limit Lv 19, Sensorial Limit Lv 13.

Skill: Lightning Lv 7 22%, Bite Lv08 41%.

Evolution Orbs: 25412/65000

“Good boy, you fought a lot… later I will give you some good meat.”

Silver fought a lot in these six months, even though he only hunted when Claire was hunting. In any case, I made him break his physical and mental limits a few times. After a few minutes, we reached the statue, Sabrina was there, and she greeted us. Soon after that, Harry transferred to me exactly 1500000 evolution coins.

I sold my left mechanic arm and created a new one, heavier and sturdier. Even though it couldn’t be helped since a meteor had destroyed it. The durability somehow had disappointed me. In any case, I also added the effect to repair itself by using the monsters' blood. The new mechanic arms were brown, and it had the same design as the previous one. So, I would be able to use the hidden blade. But it was made of an unknown metal, probably alien. Thanks to that, it was many times sturdier and only fifty percent heavier, and I had to pay two million evolution coins.

“Are you sure you want to spend so much in a single weapon?” Claire asked.

“Do you think it is a bad move? As you already know, I’m not a genius. So, if you have a better idea from a weapon to me, I want to hear.”

“Oh? Now you want to hear others' opinions?” Claire frowned.

“I don’t want to hear others' opinions. I want to hear only your opinion, we are a family, right?”

“Well… I guess so.” Claire blushed. “But no one knows your fighting style better than yourself. So, I can’t offer any advice for the time being since we didn’t fight together for six months.”

I nodded and created the mechanic arms, Claire had a point and could trust her to cover my back, but I still couldn’t change my nature. There was nothing wrong with being versatile.

“Now then… time to find some vampire skills. Oh, I already find it.”

Vampire’s Aura: It grants you the skill to absorb your enemies’ blood to heal your wounds. The enemies’ blood cannot be absorbed once it falls on the ground, and it needs to touch your skin to be absorbed.

Cost: 3000000 Evolution Coins

It was a passive skill, it had a few restrictions, but it was exactly what I needed to have a full deck of skills to keep me alive in almost all situations. Now, I could heal myself, absorb energy, move with ease, deal massive amounts of damage, and find enemies before they could find me. And I still would have 2 million evolution coins to buy the equipment for the hospital that I would create for Claire.

“I guess this is it.”

“Despite saying that you aren’t a genius,” Claire frowned. “You sure have some creativity for those crazy skills.”

“Look on the bright side; you won’t see me covered in monsters’ blood anymore. You will only see me covered in my own blood.”

“Your persuasion skills could use some work,” Claire said. “In any case, all of us need to get stronger; I will accompany you when you go to that dungeon. I heard the monsters inside of it are more powerful, and the rewards are better.”

“Are you sure this is a good idea?”

“Of course,” Claire frowned. “I’m not made of glass, and I’m not weaker just because I’m pregnant.”

Since I never saw Claire crying, I thought she was getting sensitive and weak as of late. But she couldn’t change who she truly was in just a few months, and I was the same.

“All right, but first, let’s make sure there’s nothing wrong with you or with the newest members of our family.”

“Look at them…” Harry grinned. “Acting so lovey-dovey in the middle of the day and in front of a big crowd. I think I will have diabetes just by looking at them.”

“Shut up.”

“Ethan,” Sarah showed a serious expression. “I know a few types of equipment Claire will need, but I don’t know all of them. We need the help of a true doctor.”

“Who do you recommend?”

“Naomi,” Sarah answered without hesitation. “She is the most experienced doctor around here.”

“… All right, I will bring her. I don’t think she will refuse, this will benefit many of us, after all. Does any of you have any idea where she might be?”

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

“She is at Jerry’s office,” Harry answered. “I think we should go with you.”

“Nah, it is fine. It will be more efficient if you guys look for an appropriate place to create this hospital.”

“OK…” Harry sighed. “Leave it to us.”

Harry and Rose left to find the appropriate place. Meanwhile, I teleported Claire and Sarah to Jerry’s office. Just like he said, Naomi and Jerry were there, and they looked surprised at my sudden arrival. Come to think of it; it was pretty rude to teleport to other people’s places like that.

“Ethan!” Jerry showed a big smile. “So, you finally returned.”

“Hello, Ethan,” Naomi smiled as well.

Six months have passed, but Claire and Sarah still showed animosity toward them. But it couldn’t be helped; on the other hand, I still couldn’t bring myself to hate them. They did what they did because they received orders. Otherwise, they would be treated as traitors. That being said, I also couldn’t bring myself to care all that much about them.

“Hi, I need your help for a few minutes. We need a few types of equipment to keep an eye on Claire and our children's condition.”

Despite the new, none of them showed any surprised; they probably saw Claire a few times in the past few months. In any case, they didn’t want to hide anything from me anymore. So, they congratulated us.

“Sure, I will help,” Sandra said

“This is a good opportunity,” Harry nodded. “Do you need help with anything?”

“No, I will create the equipment, and Harry will find the place. But someone will have to work in the place; I guess you two can decide who will do it.”

“I imagined you would say that…” Harry showed a serious expression. “We will find someone appropriate. As for your findings… I guess we will hear them from Harry’s mouth, right?”

“Yes, anyway, we should get going.”

I couldn’t waste time with idle talk, so I teleported us again to the statue. Even though Claire looked fine, our children were ordinary humans, probably. I still didn’t know what to expect. But I was pretty sure they would be like us before the system.

With Naomi’s help, we created the equipment very fast. I also had to create some solar panels and lots of cables to connect everything. But despite the fact all those things could fill all the interior of an entire truck, I spent only half a million evolution coins.

“You sure have a lot of coins to spare…” Sarah frowned as she looked at me, creating the equipment without hesitation.

“Well, I killed the king of another world, after all, and I also killed some high-leveled harpies and three dragons.”

“I’m feeling bad for making you spend your coins alone,” Claire said.

“Don’t worry about it, thanks to you; I have those coins.”

“What do you mean?” Claire asked, confused.

“You didn’t kill Silver, thanks to that, I obtained the coins I spend to create that equipment.”

“You thought I would do that just because you left me?” Claire retorted.

I really thought she would, but I didn’t answer her question. Instead, I looked behind me, because something was approaching at high speed. He got a lot stronger, and he was already at the same level as the normal survivors. But his attack was too obvious, I equipped my new mechanic arms and blocked Martin’s punch. Thanks to that, he growled in pain.

“Ethan! You asshole.” Martin shouted angrily even though his eyes were full of tears, thanks to the pain. “How dare you abandon Claire like that?”

“Why does everyone want to punch me? Do I really look like a pushover?”

“You even ask why?” Martin frowned. “You abandoned her and left a single note!”

“I thought she would regret her actions… and I didn’t think that she really loved me… Anyway, I will hear her complaints, but not yours. If you punch me again, I will punch you back with my mechanic arms. Good luck enduring the pain.”

Martin was still angry, but he wasn’t a fool to push his luck against me. Anyway, Claire calmed him.

“It’s all right, Martin. “Claire smiled.” That’s all in the past. Let’s forget about the past and focus on the future.

“… You really have a soft spot for kids.” Martin sighed.

After a few minutes, Angela and the other women appeared, and they came from the same direction in which Martin came.

“Hello, long time no see.” Angela smiled.

“Are you guys still hunting together with Martin?”

“Yes, we were the weakest ones here when we appeared, and so was he,” Angela explained. “So, we decided to hunt together since we already knew each other. Besides, most survivors avoided us when we explained what we did before we met you.”

“Well, at least you learned your lesson. Although I don’t think you owe explanations to anyone here.”

“We decided to tell everything ourselves,” Angela explained. “That way, everyone would know, and their eyes would serve as a reminder to us.”

“I see.”

They were pretty determined, even though everyone inside the walls was supposed to be allies, it didn’t mean they were friends. By doing what they did, they sealed many options; they wouldn’t receive help from many people. But I guess that was fine since they didn’t want to be protected anymore.

“Very convenient for you, Martin.” Claire looked at him, suspiciously. “Surrounded by so many pretty women…”

“What are you talking about?” Martin said nervously. “We are just friends, helping friends is a given.”

Fortunately for Martin, Claire’s suspicious ended when Harry returned. Harry and Rose returned with a truck; they decided to use a big room on the first floor of the building. After that, every one helped to put that equipment carefully on the truck. At sunset, we finally moved everything to the room in question.

“Tomorrow, I will organize this place and look for a person to stay here during the day,” Naomi answered.

A single person would do the job because Naomi told me to customize that equipment. Thanks to that, by pushing a single button, all equipment could be turned on and off. All the person responsible for that place had to do was to understand the results.

“When can we came for the first exams?”

“The day after tomorrow. You two can come at 09:00 AM.” Naomi answered.

“Thanks for the help; we will come.”

After that, Naomi smiled and left. Martin, Angela, and the other women also left.

“Ethan,” Harry showed a serious expression. “The general wants to hear directly from you the report of the last six months.”

“Didn’t you tell him already? Why did I write those notes?”

“That’s not enough.” Harry sighed. “Everyone wants to hear in detail about your battles against the dragons, the harpies, and that troll.”

“No one tried to enter the dungeons? Or the other groups only found a single dungeon?”

“No, if we add the three dungeons you found, there are at least ten dungeons in our country,” Harry explained. “I guess there’s nine since the frozen world disappeared. But yeah, once we learned that we can’t use memory stones inside of it and that those are other worlds, we decided to do that later. Our main objective was to look for survivors and strengthen our base.”

I guess I owed them those details, it would help them to prepare, and I couldn’t be uncooperative anymore since I decided to live with Claire and the kids. My actions could bring problems to them, so I had to be careful.

“All right, I will tell them. What are you going to do, Claire?”

“I wait for you at home,” Claire smiled. “I’m a bit tired, and I bet the kids will also be tired when they return. I will be waiting for you.”

Claire kissed my cheek and then left, thanks to that, Harry was grinning again. He really was an annoying guy…

“You represent six hundred survivors… stop acting like a ten-year-old kid.”

“You really reached the bottom of the well, Harry,” Rose said. “Even Ethan is lecturing you now, to make matters worse, he is right.”

“Anyway, when this meeting will start?”

“As soon as we arrive there,” Harry answered. “When they heard about the dragons, every representative hurried to the meeting room. They are already waiting for us.”

“Well, let’s go then.”
