Chapter 3: Azathoth, who doesn't get introduced

The Chamber they were in was perfectly circular, as was the pool, without a single source of light in it. The walls created a dome of sorts, were perfectly smooth and extremely cold to the touch.

The two girls were sitting by the pool with their feet in the water.

“So, no way in or out.”

“Or at least, no visible entrance and exit…”

“Hah, I think I preferred the shy you, Phoenix”

“Indeed, she is quite endearing when she’s like that, isn’t she!”

“E-eep!”

On the other side of the pool Sephora and a heavily muscled man, whose hair seemed to be constantly shifting and contorting, had appeared. The man’s voice seemed to boom yet at the same time contorted as if it where twisting and squirming, trying to warp the world around it.

“Now, now Azathoth, she had just regained some semblance of confidence.”

The man, Azathoth, laughed, but then he suddenly turned serious.

“So, these are the supposed children of Balance, I thought there was only supposed to be one in the prophesy.”

“Indeed, however, they did appear here so I suppose we should at least give them the benefit of the doubt, no?”

“Hmph, fine let’s get this over with, shall we?”

“Wait a damn minute, what’s going on here? And stop leering like that you Perv, you’re scaring Phoenix!”

Argentum was standing protectively in front of a shivering Phoenix, glaring at Azathoth, tiny bolts of silver lighting arcing from her fingers into the water, which seemed to absorb it.

“…”

“*sigh*, Well now you’ve gone and done it Azathoth, she’s started the Ritual without preparation. I’ll support and stabilize Argentum, you do the same with Phoenix. Hurry!”

Sephora teleported behind Argentum and placed her hands on her shoulders allowing her power to flow into her, while Azathoth, being surprisingly gentle, teleported Phoenix to the opposite side and did the same with her, though Argentum was glaring at him the entire time as the Lightning flowing from her fingers increased by a large amount.

A couple seconds later, after the lightning that was flowing from Phoenixes fingers, which was black, had increased to the same amount as that flowing from Argentums, A large Runic circle at the bottom of the pool lit up with white light blinding the two angels.

Then, suddenly, the light disappeared as did the Water and the power flowing through them.

“Well… that was certainly not what I was expecting.”

“Hmm… So, it was a success, I wonder…”

They were in an extremely large and extravagant hall, that looked to be made of black marble and some kind of black metal. Azathoth moved over to Sephora and Argentum as Sephira conjured four chairs for them to sit on.

“Well, I must agree Sephora I wasn’t expecting to appear in your Palace, but I suppose that meeting their mother will have to wait for a while as they will need at least enough basic training to be able to defend themselves… though we all know that you hate having company which is why the only thing of interest here is your personal guard and him.”

“I think first we must have a chat about why they are here and them we mu–”

“Phoenix!”
