DUNGEON CREATOR

Ajax POV

Ch.30

After reprimand the old man Jenkins about his strange remarks towards the crow, General Ajax turns his attention back to the battle outside the gate while thinking about how much casualties the undead cause after seeing the line just below the gate nearly broke through, but thanks to the adventurer causing ruckus, the army managed to reform their lines and start pushing forwards.

Seeing could of dust coming from the north General Ajax muttered to himself ‘Come on, gallop faster.’ While still being drawn by the cavalries from the north a soldier come and report to him.

“Sir, we found some irregularities among the undead.”

Nodding a bit Ajax then asked.

“How many are they?”

“We’ve spotted 12 of them and managed to kill 8.”

“Good, how about their leader?”

“We haven’t found any sir.”

“Hmm… you may return.”

Giving his salute the soldier returns to his post. Assuring himself that they would find the leader eventually, General Ajax letting out small sigh, unnoticed by his men, because there’s just no way an army of undead capable of marching in order without any leader leading them.

He turns his head back towards the cavalry hoping they would arrive faster when suddenly he heard a shout from his right.

“General.”

Upon turning his head to see who just shouted, he saw one of the archers hurriedly run towards him, giving his salute from a distance, because the guards has stopped him before he get close to general, the archer then gave his report.

“General, I think I found what seems to be their leader.”

“Really…? Let him pass.”

Ajax gave his permission to let the archer pass. Seeing the man is close enough Ajax asked.

“So? You found their leader?”

“I think so….”

“You’re not sure?”

“Well… from my perception I think it is their leader…… but you can judge it yourself General.”

“Come….. There.”

The man walked towards the edge and pointed down. Curious about the said leader, Ajax walked to the edge followed by his men who’s also curious, but when he’s about to reach the edge, suddenly an arrow flew by him, surprised because the arrow almost hit his head and a warning shouts can be heard coming from his men.

“Careful General.”

“Be careful.”

Remain expressionless Ajax tried his best to surprised his feeling of shocked because an arrow just flew near his head. After regaining his composure he raised his eyebrows and asked the archer.

“Are you planning to kill me?”

Confused about what his General said the archer answered him.

“Huh..? What are you talking about General?”

“Didn’t you see an arrow almost hit me?”

The archer panickedly spoke what’s in his mind.

“Isn’t that natural? Remembering we’re in the middle of the battle.”

“He’s right General, we should be more careful.”

As if to confirm what the main just said is true another arrow flew by again, but this time the arrow is fly far from his position. After seeing his men stare with a strange look Ajax nod and asked again.

“Very well, so where’s the leader you just said?”

“There.”

Pointing towards a particular area in the field, Ajax followed the direction where the archer pointed and saw a group of four people fighting against three skeletons. It was Koran and his group facing against Skeleton General and two Elite Soldier Skeletons. Seeing the Skeleton General have different looks than the other Skeletons Ajax gives his order to his men.

“Quick, help them kill it.”

“Archers shoot it, shoot their leader.”

Some of the archers who heard General order shifts their target and start shooting towards the Skeleton General, but instead giving Koran and his group a support the order General Ajax gave is hindering them to kill the Skeleton General because they have to evade the arrows coming from the city wall.

Roughly after six minutes Koran and his group managed to kill the Skeleton General and the other two Elite Soldier Skeletons, and with scornful looks Koran directed his gaze on top of the gate and curse whoever gave out the order to shoot at them.

Soon after the cavalry finally joined the battle, but no matter how prepared and well formed the Skeletons are they can’t win fighting against 3000 men while they’re just 1000 strong. After around 20 minutes the battle finally reaches its end with the last Skeleton smashed to bits by a woman wielding a hammer bigger than her own body.

Looking at the bizarre field full of smashed bones Ajax see his men lining up the dead outside the city wall and carrying the wounded back into the city, he also saw some adventurer mourning their dead comrade who recklessly charged into the battle.

Relieving a sigh of relieve because the battle finally over Ajax gave out his order.

“Count the dead, treat the wounded, and tell the adventurers they can only take one set of Skeletons equipment with them, the rest will be taken care of by the army.”

After hearing that they could only take one set of equipment lots of adventurers want to shout their protest, but because they’re surrounded by thousands of soldiers they can only grit their teeth and return to the city with downed face to make complaint to the guild.

Looking again at the bizarre sight of the field outside the city Ajax thinks to himself ‘Where are they come from, I never heard an undead army this big, what should I do if the Baron ask me to deal with the source, can I refuse him….’ While thinking so he heard some ruckus coming from the stairs, walking towards the source he saw a familiar face.

Wearing a weird black dress and carrying two swords Ajax recognized the person causing the ruckus ‘it was the lady fraud’ and with a bit irritation he asked her.

“So it’s you lady, do you need something here?”

“I want to make a crime report, but you subordinate keep refusing me saying they were tired or busy.”

Hearing her reason Ajax tried to mock her.

“Is that so, but if it’s about someone stealing you pouch, sorry but we can’t help you, we’re busy treating the wounded and collecting the dead.”

“Well, it’s not something big, but someone is keeping a corpse inside the house.”

Hearing the answer, Ajax a little bit surprised and think ‘Is this related to the undead.’ He turns serious and ordered two of his men to follow her and gave a word of reminder.

Seeing the three left, another soldier come upstairs carrying equipment.

“General, I bought the undead equipment.”

“Put them there.”

Pointing at the empty table Ajax walked to it and inspected the equipment as soon as the soldier put them down. After seeing the fine quality of the equipment he muttered to himself.

“Someone must be supply all this.”

“You’re right General, there’s no way the undead managed to get their hands on such fine equipment in big number.”

Voices of agreement resound after each other when they hears the General mutter, after a while inspecting the equipment Ajax moved to receive another report about the casualties of the battle.

“What… How many men you say are dead?”

Surprised because the report, Ajax shout a little bit to the soldier who bought the report, but before the soldier able to response another shocking event occurred inside the city. An explosive sound resound through the city and white smokes pop out form the direction of the slum.
