DUNGEON CREATOR
Baron POV
Looking out of the window as he stretched his back, he saw one of his guards talking to a cavalryman in front of the mansion gate. Shortly after, he saw the guard open the gate and quickly run into the mansion, while the man he spoke to got off his horse and was guided by another guard to the mansion. The Baron returned back to his desk to finish up his work when a knock came from the door.
“Sir, a messenger from General Ajax has arrived.”
“Let him in.”
Given his permission, the guard open the door and let the messenger in. Ashford saw a man in his 30's wearing chainmail armor with a black star painted onto it's chest. A brown haired man with a stern face held his helmet with his left hand, he was the perfect image of a soldier. With a salute the messenger spoke to the Baron.
“General Ajax sent me to inform you that his army will arrive in half a day, do you have a reply message for him sir?”
“Thank you, and if you please, inform him that we’ll only able to accommodate 1,200 of his men in our barracks.”
“Anything else sir?”
“No, that would be all, you may leave.”
“Yes sir”
With a snap salute and an about-face he left the Baron's office. The Baron sighed and muttered “Why do I get all tense when facing him?” Ringing the bell on his desk he called his buttler, a minute later a knock came from the door.
“Did you call master?”
“Yes, come in.”
As he let the butler in he prepared a paper and wrote something on it.
“Give this to Conrad, and tell him to come here as soon as he can.”
With a bow the butler left the mansion. After stretching his back the baron resumed his work. That afternoon Conrad came to his mansion.
“It's Conrad.”
After a little bit knocking he let himself in.
“Close the door.”
The baron reminded him about the accident with his wife.
“You call sir?”
“It’s not a business matter, you can relax.”
When he sat on the sofa the baron asked.

“Do you happen to know a General named Ajax?”
“Only by rumor, why?”
“What is the rumor?”
“Hmm, they say that he always has an intimidating aura around him, and that he is a very assertive man.”
“Do you know what he looks like, or how old he is?”
“No, but after I got the news from you several days ago that he will be leading the reinforcements I started asking around. I asked my men that had served in the capital before, but none of them had ever met him.”
“Why did you suddenly ask about him?”
“I think I just met him today.”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“There was a messenger who came here early, but somehow when I talked to him I felt very tense. It was like my body had gone stiff all over.”
“Hooo, that’s probably him.”
After a little chat, Conrad returned to his office just before the sun sat.
As the evening crept by, the Baron prepared to eat his dinner. That’s when a guard came to report to him that the reinforcements had been seen coming in from the east. Postponing his dinner, the Baron rode his horse towards the east gate to meet his guests. When he arrived at the eastern gate he saw that Conrad was already standing in front of the gate. He walked up to Conrad and asked.
“What do you think? Is it them?
“Not sure, I already sent an envoy, but he’s not back yet.”
The only thing they could see was just a line of torchlight in the night. They waited anxiously for the envoy to return, since they couldn’t confirm whether it was a reinforcement from the capital or an army from another country. They saw a man on top of his horse riding towards them, it was the envoy they’d been waiting on.
“Sir, they’re the reinforcement from the capital. Captain Owen also asks for permission to enter the city.”
“Tell them that they may come.”
The baron sent the envoy back to deliver his message. Fifteen minutes later an army of 2,000 is lining up in front of the gate and four representatives rode out to meet with the Baron.
“Good evening, Baron Ashford.”
A man in his 50's greeted the Baron as he sat on top of his horse.
“Good evening.”
He replied, as he greeted the old man between Captain Reinfred and Captain Owen. When the old man was about to speak, Baron Ashford greeted another man behind Reinfred, it was the messenger from earlier today.
“Also, good evening to you too, General Ajax.”
“Hahaha, you managed to guess it so easily.”
“Well you make it easy for me General.”
“Also, good evening to you too, Reinfred, Owen.”
“Good evening Ashford.”
“Good evening Ashford.”
Since both the Captain and the Baron are acquaintances from when they attended the academy in the capital, they spoke without honorifics to each other. When they did so however, General Ajax rebuked them.
“Show your respect to the Baron.”
“It's fine General, anyway about what I told you earlier. We can only take 1,200 of your men into our barracks, but we have already prepared a camp outside of the western gate for the other 800.”
“That’s good enough Baron.”
As he said that he yelled his order to his men.
“The first and second battalion is to head straight for the barracks. The third battalion is to head towards the western gate, follow the guards and do not cause a ruckus.”
Finished giving out his orders, General Ajax turned his head towards the old man.
“Old man, can you make sure they don’t cause a scene as they march into the city?”
“Sure General.”
When they got their orders, the soldiers started to march into the city along with the old man. When he saw the old man go into the city, the Baron decided to ask.
“If I may General, who’s that old man?”
“He’s Jenkins, my advisor.”
“Hooo, and if you please General, you and both of your captains are welcome to stay in my mansion.”
“We will take you up on your offer then.”
As they went into the city along with the soldiers, they decided to rest the first night, and in the next morning they will have a short briefing as they are having their breakfast.
“So General, did the King tell you why are you sent out here?”
Baron Ashford decided to ask first.
“The King said that we should stand guard in this city for a month. We are to help with an evacuation or the city defense in case the monsters attack. For the time being we are to be under your command.”
“Did the king tell you what you’re facing General?”
“It’s a Dragon right?”
“Indeed, but it’s been a month since it’s last shown itself.”
“You would think that it's already flown away then.”
“But still, we shouldn’t let our guard down.”
As they enjoyed their talk over breakfast, a guard came rushing into the dinning room.
“Sir, the guild master's here to see you. He says that it’s urgent.”
