DUNGEON CREATOR
Sora POV
Ch.15
Entering the city a bit far from the gate Sora can see people bustling around talking to each other or someone walking away from a deal while the other begging for it. The reason why the west gate is crowded with people is very simple, since western gate is mostly use by the adventurer going or return from the forest, a lot of merchant flooding the street to get a cheaper price for the materials from the monster they hunt, even if they say it cheap the merchant still offer more than the guild, but they still buy the materials cheaper than what the guild offer to the merchants. As the four of them walk down the unpaved road they can see an adventurer turning down an offer just to get another from different merchant.
“We have to walk faster.”
Anne said fearing the merchant gazes as they start staring at them.
“Elris, come, walk faster.”
“Eh? Ah, yes.”
“But why are you guys walking like this?
Surprised because Anne suddenly call out to her as she admiring her surrounding like a tourist and confused with the formation as they walk Sora asked them.
“Sshhh, we walk like this just to trick the merchants to let them think we’re just doing escort mission, not hunting.”
“If we let one of them talk to us the other will follow, and there will be no end of it.”
While Anne explain things to Sora in a low voice someone callout to them.
“Hey there, excuse me.”
“Ignore him madam, we have to keep walking.”
Julius told Sora to keep walking, but Julius warning come too late since Sora already turn her head looking at the man that callout to them. Standing still in her place Sora see a young man make a little run towards them.
“What?”
Sora played her role as an aristocrat being escort by Dwane and others. With a haughty voice she asked the young man.
“I’m sorry ma’am, but can I talk to your escort??”
“What? You need something from them?
“I just want to offer them some business. What about it guys? Do you have some materials you want to sell?”
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
Ignoring Sora, the merchant talk directly to Dwane and the other, still playing her role Sora say to the merchant with irritating voice.
“You imbecile, they don’t have anything to sell to you, and if they do I won’t let them sell it to you. Now scram.”
Turning away from the merchant Sora look at Dwane and give a small nod to continue walking. And suddenly the merchant shout.
“Don’t you know who I am lady?”
“No I don’t, and I don’t need to know who you are.”
“You’re going to regret this. You old hag.”
With an angry face the merchant walk away and disappear in an alley.
After walking a bit far from the crowd, Dwane start talking to Sora.
“Thanks for helping us back there lady.”
“No problem, anyway why did you guys so afraid of them?”
“It’s not that we’re afraid of them lady, its just−”
“We can’t be as rude as you back there Elris, if we do that they will tell other merchant not to sell or buy anything from us, and same thing happen if they being rude to us.”
“Are you going to be okay madam? That merchant seems so angry.”
Anne interrupt Dwane as he speak while Julius show his concern to Sora for making the merchant angry.
“I’m sure she would be fine, no merchant want to cut their ties with an aristocrat, and since she’s looks like one I’m sure she will be fine, isn’t that right lady?”
“Yeah I’ll be fine, but if you always have to deal with them every time why don’t you guys use another gate?”
“Well, we can’t use the northern gate since it’s for a noble or aristocrat, and you need a special permit to go through there, and the east is out of question, we have to walk for hours just to get to the east gate.”
“Not to mention the line.”
“Yeah, since the east is the main gate, there’s a lot of people from another city forming the line to enter town, so we just have to deal with it.”
Anne add a bit complaint about the eastern gate while Dwane explain it to Sora, right now they’re no longer walk in formation surrounding Sora, since they manage to get away from the merchant crown they break their formation to walk normally alongside each other.
“Hooo, what about the south, is there no gate?”
“No, there’s no gate in the south, since most of the Dragon is living in the southern mountain, they make most of the south part of the city as military base.”
While talking as they walk Sora manage to get some info about the city, after awhile they arrive at what seems to be the plaza of the city with some of the food stall here and there.
“Well lady, we’re going to adventurer guild east of here, where you want to go lady?”
“I’m going to find a legal office first, do you know where is it?”
“Why don’t you say so from the beginning Elris, we just pass them awhile ago. Sheesh.”
“Hahaha, forgive my friend rudeness lady, but the legal office is there, the big building with a rolled up parchment as its symbol.”
While pointing at the direction behind Sora, she turn herself to find a big building with a rolled up parchment made of wood hanging on top of the door not far from the place where they stand.
“Well lady, I think we’re going to part here, thanks for the help with the merchant before.”
“Please, wait a bit.”
As she said so, Sora reach to her pouch to pull out some gold coins and hand it to Dwane.
“What’s this lady?”
“It’s a thank you gift for guiding me to the city.”
“Wha… its too much lady.”
“It’s fine.”
As she said so, someone snatch the gold from Dwane hand.
“Oi Anne, give it back.”
“No way, besides Elris say it’s fine, right?”
“Yeah its just three gold, not much.”
“Oi Anne get back here.”
When Sora said it was fine Anne already running towards the east with joyful expression on her face.
“Thank you very much lady, if you need anything from us we’ll be at the guild to enjoy ourselves for awhile.”
And then Dwane run, chasing Anne who’s already gone in the crowd.
“Thank you madam, and sorry for my friends behavior.”
“It’s okay, I’m used to them.”
“Well, see you later madam.”
After bowing a little to Sora, Julius left while Sora muttered to herself ‘This guy don’t talk much did he.’ As she watch him walk away towards east.
