Chapter 33

Chapter 33

??? Unknown Space

Deon ‘awoke’ and found himself in a strange space, startling Deon as he looked around with his guard up: “Where am I?”

Deon is standing on an ocean, but the water is so dead calm that it mirrors the beautiful blue sky above him. As Deon took a step forward, it created a ripple effect that spread throughout the ocean, but Deon remained on top of the surface water, allowing him to walk freely on the surface of the ocean.

The ocean extended throughout the horizon, creating beautiful scenery, but Deon didn’t have the luxury to appreciate the scenery before him as he was still wary of his surroundings.

As Deon looked around, he noticed a large building behind him. The building was so large that it dumbfounded Deon for a second. The building was standing on top of the surface of the ocean, like Deon, and because it was the only building around, its size became more domineering.

‘Am I inside the black ring?’ Deon thought as he recalled the last thing he did before being transported to this strange space. ‘Oh no… am I stuck inside the black ring?.’ Deon couldn’t help but think about the time he was stuck in his Dreamscape, and the more he thought about it, the more he grew nervous.

‘No. no. no. I can’t be stuck now,’ Deon thought as he closed his eyes, focusing his mind on trying to wake up before slowly opening his eyes, hoping that he would return to his room, but he immediately saw the ocean floor, making Deon panic.

Before Deon could continue panicking, a door appeared out of nowhere in front of him, startling him in the process.

“Woah!”

Deon didn’t know why, but he instinctively felt that the door was the exit door for the strange place. However, he still kept his guard as he slowly approached the door, ready to run if anything happened.

Deon grabbed the door handle and slowly twisted it until the door finally opened, and inside the door was a swirling light.

“Is this the exit?” Deon spoke, hoping that maybe someone would give him an answer, but no answer came

*Gulp* “Should I risk it? I mean, this door showed up when I thought about exiting this strange place. Surely, this door is the exit, right?” Deon said

Deon slowly and cautiously extended his hand toward the swirling light, and the moment his hand touched the swirling light, it grabbed onto Deon and started pulling deon toward the swirling light

“Fuck…” Deon tried to pull his hand back, but the suction force was too strong as it fully dragged Deon into its light without any trouble

Adamantium Fortress: Deon’s Room

Deon woke up and immediately sat up from his bed, his breathing slightly haggard as he looked around him.

“So, that was really the exit, huh?” Deon amusedly said, “Am I too cautious?... Maybe I should’ve trusted my instinct more. If the suction force weren’t too strong, then maybe I would’ve been stuck in that place because of my cautiousness, Heh.”

“No… I think it was only right that I’m cautious about things that I don’t know. If not, then I won’t live for long, But still, hopefully, I won’t encounter any more strange events,” Deon said as he looked at the black ring in his hands.

The black ring was no longer stuck in his hand as it peacefully remained in deon’s palm. Deon grabbed the black ring and closely observed it.

“Did the head of the awakening temple switch my ring? Why did it react differently when I poured my mana into it? Is it because the head of the awakening temple isn’t part of my family, or is it because I have my Dreamscape with me?” Deon thought, “Now that I thought about it, the strange place is like my dreamscape… and What is that huge building?”

‘Hm… I won’t get any answer just sitting here. Should I go back to that strange place?... Let’s do it… now that I know how to exit, there isn’t much risk going back, besides I’m curious about the large building… Maybe there is something there that might give me a clue about my family or my Dreamscape, and if my Dreamscape is really lineage magic,’ Deon thought.

Deon lay on the bed and repeated the process as he imbued his mana to the black ring, and before long, he felt dizzy and passed out.

??? Unknown Space

Deon ‘awoke’ in the strange space again, with him being in control. He finally appreciated the ‘view’ in front of him before directing his attention to the massive building. Deon slowly approached the building and took the steps to the massive building door that was at least two or three times bigger than a normal door size.

“How am I supposed to open this door?” Deon asked. “Hm? Why does this door look familiar?... Wait… This door looks a lot like my life gate… There are few differences, but 90% are similar to my life gate.”

Deon gently placed his hand on the massive gate, trying to feel the material of the door, but the moment he touched it, the door slowly opened, creating a creaking sound and slight tremor that was befitting for its size, making Deon somewhat excited for what is inside the building

If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

Inside, the building was pitch black, making Deon frown as he couldn’t see anything, and as Deon entered the building, the torches around the building started to light up one by one, allowing Deon to see what was inside

Inside the massive building were large contents of books, properly organized into different shelves. ‘So this is a library?’ Deon thought as he started looking around the library

Near the entrance of the library, Deon saw a piece of information that piqued his interest as he observed it carefully

-Oneiros Library-

-Level 1: Standard Books-

-Level 2: Magical Books-

-Level 3: Books of the Oneiros Clan-

-Level 4: Oneiros Craft-

‘So it really is a library, and it’s called Oneiros Library,’ Deon thought. ‘Hm… Oneiros Clan… Is that my clan name? I don’t think I’ve heard that name before… I don’t think that clan exist in the Everwinter Kingdom, but I could be wrong… If that really is my clan, then at least I know the name now… Deon Oneiros… sounds weird.’

Deon looked around the library while looking at the books around him. ‘Where should I go first?... Hm… Let’s go the level 3 first. I’m curious about what I will find there.’

The staircase to the upper level was at the side of the entrance, making his life easier.

Level 2 Floor: Magical Books Section

“Are all of these books magical books?” Deon was shocked by the number of magical books in the level 2 library. “Woah… does that mean I can learn everything here?”

*Gulp*

For the past month, he had been learning everything about magic, and the more he learned about magic, the more amazed Deon became, which awakened his thirst for knowledge as he felt the boundless potential of magic, and what it could do to better his life.

‘With this amount of magical books, I don’t need the library in the adamantium fortress,’ Deon thought excitedly as he felt his heart beat rapidly.

Adamantium Fortress also has a very wide range of magical books, but compared to the books in front of him, it was like comparing a small bookstore with the national library.

Deon couldn’t even see the end of the level 2 floor. “How come there are so many magical books? Surely, there isn’t that much magic, right? Or have I been underestimating magic again? Should I just stay here for now?”

Deon was too excited and wanted to immediately read the books before him, wanting to expand his horizon. “No… I can’t be too hasty. I’m still learning about the basics. If I rush myself, it would only damage my foundation, like instructor Edder said: I need to learn magic step by step, with no shortcuts.”

After calming himself, Deon returns his attention to the level 3 floor. “Besides, I didn’t come here for the magical books. I came here to find out what exactly this place is or find more about the Oneiros Clan.”

Level 3 Floor: Books of the Oneiros Clan Section

“Hm… there aren’t many books here compared to level 2, but then again, this section might just be about the Oneiros clan, and if that is the case, then that’s a lot of books,” Deon said as he looked around the floor while browsing for a proper book that could at least introduce him to the Oneiros Clan.

‘I wonder if there is an Index Book for all the books on this floor,’ Deon thought as he looked around. ‘I mean, if you guys have this many books, the least you can do is put an index book at the front of the floor… Wait… was there a book near the entrance of the floor?.’ Before Deon could return to the entrance, he saw a book that piqued his interest.

-Dreams of The Oneiros Clan-

‘Dreams? Dreamscape?’ Deon thought as he immediately took the book to get a closer look. ‘Is my dreamscape really the lineage magic of the Oneiros clan?’

And like a confirmation, the first thing Deon read on the first page of the book was the speculation he just had, written in a large font.

“Lineage Magic: Dream World”

“Dreamworld? Is that the right name for Dreamscape? How come my name is much cooler? Heh… Whatever, ill still call my Dream World, Dreamscape. I’m more used to it,” Deon said before reading the book, curious if there is any difference between the Dream World and Dreamscape.

After a few hours

*Yawn* Deon yawned as he continued reading but quickly stopped when he realized that he had just yawned. ‘I yawned? I can get tired in this place. I thought this place was like my Dreamscape and I won’t get tired. Is this strange place not a dreamscape? But then, how come I need to sleep first to enter this place? Hm...’

After reading for a few hours, Deon has pretty much-covered everything in the Dreams of Oneiros Clan book, and as expected, it was about the Dreamscape or Dream World and the abilities of the Dreamscape.

Even though Deon pretty much knew everything about the abilities of the Dreamscape, he still diligently read the book to ensure he wasn’t missing any information that might improve his control of his Dreamscape.

‘This is a bit troublesome, I wanted to stay here since it’s cozy here, but I guess I have no choice but to return to my dreamscape and continue my reading there, but first, let’s get some other books to copy’ Deon thought as he put down the books he was reading and started browsing the level 3 floor for more books to copy.

-Dream Magic Pathways of Oneiros Clan-

-History of the Oneiros Clan Vol. 1-

-Ancestor Oneiros-

-Dream Force-

-Dream Rune Magic-

-Six Dreamcraft of the Oneiros Clan-

Deon gathered every book that piqued his interest on a reading table at the center of the Level 3 Floor.

‘Do I really need to copy everything here?... Damnit, Just how come I am not immune to fatigue here?’ Deon annoyedly thought, ‘I need to find information about this strange place… Surely, it’s on this floor, right?’

Deon continued browsing, but this time focused on finding a book that might explain more about the black ring and this strange space.

‘Hm? Is this it?’

-Legacy of The Oneiros Clan-

‘The Black ring should be considered part of the legacy of the Oneiros clan, right?’ Deon thought as he flipped through the book

-9.3. Dream Soul Ring-

‘Ring? Is that it?’ Deon thought as he read the context of the book before flipping to the Dream Soul Ring Page.

On the first page of the Dream Soul Ring context was a drawing of a black ring that was similar to the ring Deon is in his hands

‘Oh. I was right. Let’s copy this so that I can read this in my Dreamscape… Wait, let’s just copy the whole book. I don’t want to go back and forth, just in case,’ Deon thought before recording every page of his Dreamscape.

Thought For thoughts

* Deon is part of the Oneiros Clan.

* Black ring’s official name: Dream Soul Ring

* I actually wanted to describe more about the architectural features of the library, but I realized that it takes a lot of space in the chapter, especially since I am only doing 2000+ words per chapter, which is already quite short, so I decided not to include it, so if you want to imagine the ‘looks’ of the library, just imagine a massive library building and quite an expansive floors. Haha (Make it beautiful, of course)

* If you want me to describe the physical designs, tell me, then I will do it, but from my experience (from the past chapters), it takes a lot of space in the chapter, and I do not know if its worth it, so leave you suggestion in the comments.
