Vol 1 ch 19: Indoor Picnic

KLANG!! KLANG!! SHUU!!

There are probably many reasons why dwarves are adept at metallurgy. Their affinity and energy core being the few main ones. Yet, ask any dwarf, and only one reason compelled them to these laborious craft.

That magical crescendo of metal against metal, the harmonic chorus when glowing sword met with water, that pulsing rhythm gradually forged a lump of steel into lethal weapons. It was compelling, addictive even.

Brokkr was hard at work. He had been going at it since a couple of days ago. About a week ago, one of the Fugio merchants offered to sell him a new kind of metal. Sky Metal that fell from the stars.

To say that Brokkr was excited would be an understatement. For he immediately set to work. Designing, testing, computing alloy recipes and suitable metals for the fusion. The Sky Metal was so complex, he could only begin two days ago.

Brokkr was so focused on forging the weapon, he didn't notice three people entering his workshop.

“Uncle Brokkr is super focused as always. Hehehe.” Jet chuckled.

Loina also laughed along. “Hehehe, that's normal. I'd be worried if I didn't see him holding his hammer.”

Aelius sighed. “Looks like we're gonna be here a while.” He turned to Loina and Jet. “Do you want to wait here? I mean, we can come back later.”

“Let's just wait here.” Loina said. “I'm always curious to know how the dwarves forge weapons.”

Jet was also excited. “I wanna see them as well. Can we stay, father?”

“Hahaha, of course we can. Go, sit there at the corner. Let us have some tea while we wait.”

Thus the three spend their morning almost like on a picnic. Albeit in someone else's workshop.
