~January 1st, night~
SCHING!
The whole house came alive the second Jet slid a Fire Crystal into the slot at the entrance.
The whole house lit up. Temperature rose to a comfortable degree. A sharp contrast to the raging snowstorm often decorated the night sky from December to January.
“Wow, not too shabby! At least father did not throw me in the dumps. Hehehe.”
Jet tried Ida's idea of positivity. Later found his tone marred with sarcasm. So he stopped and just sighed.
“Let's…have a look see, shall we?”

Dejected, Jet's feet slowly brought him to the east solarium. A place constantly baptized by the sun rise.
“Hooo, Ida isn't kidding. This place even made the snow beautiful.”
A person growing up in Cherith, will grow up hating the snow. Because Cherith is always covered in snow. Worst, during the period between December and February, which is where Cherith's at right now, there'll be a blizzard every night.
People often joked that a couple in love may cheat on each other, but Cherith's winter storm is always faithful.
The beautiful scenery might be amazing, at first. But snow is still snow.
Already bored, Jet did not even bother checking the west side. Instead, he headed upstairs.
There's nothing much. A library and a study. A master bedroom. A couple of guest rooms. Standard bungalow accommodations.
“Well…might as well check up the view from the roof.” And continue climbing up.
Which was a good decision.
“Sweet Lord in Heaven. This…this is amazing!”
The roof was covered with a glass dome. Turning it into a glass house, perfect for gardening. The previous owner must have used it to grow their own food. Although what's left of it is just rows upon rows of soil, an image of this place covered with delicious edible plants came to mind.
“Hmmm, maybe I'll try gardening. What else am I gonna do otherwise?”
Jet went to his new bedroom. His step was quick, and his heart was light. Such is human. When you found a purpose, or at least something to do in your life, living itself would not feel like a burden.
A quick dusting of the bed, and Jet jumped to bed.
Tomorrow, he decided, he would search the library for gardening books.
They should have one here.
Right?
